  • It's time for a deep dive into Brooks & Dunn! They're some of the most iconic country music hitmakers of the 90s, with their honky tonk music, their undeniably fun showmanship, and their western fashion sense. In this vid, I argue that they just might be the most influential act in today's country.

    This video was a labor of love, and it's been in the works for a while! Brooks and Dunn's music and image has proven to be one of the MOST influential factors in the country music of today, and I knew I had to talk about it at some point. I'd love if you shared this with a Brooks & Dunn fan in your life, or just hit the like button and let's blow this one up. (Cuz I think it's good!)
    I know content is dripping slowly, but I'm almost done with the chaos of moving, and hope to hit my stride again soon!!

    Brooks and Dunn are now in they’re late 60s. I went to a sold out show in Knoxville back in May and it’s like nothing has changed. Kix still jumps all over the stage and Ronnie’s voice never faulted once. They have aged well.

    Their entire discography is honestly great, but "Neon Moon" has to be my favorite of theirs. It's an all-time breakup ballad.

    • @ddcs0s
      @ddcs0s ปีที่แล้ว

      When you have a 2 disk 30 song album called "#1s and then some" your discography is no longer in question
      Personally I can't pick just one for me at best I can narrow it down to three
      Everyone loves Ronnie Dunns voice but I think it's worth mentioning that Kix Brooks sung in my opinion one of their greatest songs "You're gonna miss me when I'm gone"
      I think if you really want to hear Ronnie Dunns voice at it's best "That ain't no way to go" is a masterpiece
      But probably my favorite song ever is "Cowgirls don't cry" with Reba the only reason I can't call it my absolute favorite Brooks and Dunn song is because Reba really made that song special ... It's a great song even without here but it's definitely not their best

Although growing up I believed Alan Jackson was the coolest singer ever, Dwight is by far my most listened-to and idolized. His trajectory from Kentucky to Bakersfield to the big screen in Hollywood has always fascinated me, and being a theatre kid myself, Dwight's turn to acting as well as being the most stylish and most versatile singer has always been an inspiration to me! I'm 34 years old ... my whole life i mainly listened to thrash metal and gangster rap. I played violin for 7 years in school. I was the guy who always said 'i like everything but country'. Thanks mainly to J Waller, I've recently had a renaissance - i realized i like country too! I just had to find the right kind. I really like romantic songs (like Alan Jackson - Wanted) and songs that 'tell a story' (George Strait - Amarillo By Morning). I don't care much for the 'dance' or 'party' country music.
    Favorite artists so far are Brooks & Dunn, George Strait, Alabama, Colter Wall, Sturgill Simpson, and the 🐐Randy Travis. Anyone got suggestions?

    I was born only a few months before Brooks and Dunn released their first single and debut album (both titled Brand New Man), so many 90s country artists, including the duo, hold a special place in my heart.

    Brooks & Dunn have always been my favorite artist of all-time. Ronnie Dunn has such a powerful, soulful voice, and he has been a huge inspiration as my own singing. Kix Brooks is an excellent songwriter and entertainer as well. I appreciate your video and the recognition they've been getting lately.

    @Grady Smith,
    First of all, I really enjoyed this video. Great job! I think I will go listen to "Rebooted" as soon as I finish this post!
    So Brooks & Dunn hold a special place in my heart. I actually think I have expressed this in the comments section of another one of your videos! haha
    Anyway, I have adored their music for many years. "Brand New Man" always brings a smile to my face as it is a damn good song and it brings back good memories of my father. I absolutely love many of their other hits such as "Boot Scootin' Boogie", "If You See Him/If You See Her", "Only in America", "Ain't Nothin' About You" (one of my personal favorites), "Neon Moon", "My Maria" and "Red Dirt Road". I agree, they are legends in country music and like many other top artists of the 90s, they set a serious standard.
    I saw them live on their "The Last Rodeo" tour in Wichita, Kansas in 2010. It's hard to believe that was 12 years ago. It was a great concert.
    I honestly, didn't know about "Rebooted" or that they are kind of back together now. I wish them lots of continued success!
    Thank you so much for making a video on them!

    Amazing video Grady. Seriously. One of my favorite groups ever. Reboot was such an amazing album that brought Brooks and Dunn back to the forefront of the country scene. Great backstory on the guys as well. Wow. Really happy to see this video. Great job.
    Ps. You ever cover Paul Cauthen?

    I play guitar in an 80s and 90s country cover band. Of course we cover BROOKS AND DUNN!! Some of the best 90s country there is! Brent Mason has some of the tasty solos ever recorded on these songs. And it's awesome to see everyone go crazy when we start playing one of their hits.

    There is no artist(s) that I have spent more money on watching (tickets and travel) and B&D. In my short 30 years on this planet I have seen them 7 times. Great job with this documentary Grady! It wasn't so long that I lost interest, but it was long enough that I didn't feel I was shortchanged on information.
