      i love Hurricane, and I have different for girls on my ipod but the lyrics like throwing a t shirt and jeans on and find a wall she could punch, well I wear a t shirt and jeans a lot and if you get a woman mad enough, she will punch a freaking wall. i am not a big fan of Darryl Worley's Have You Forgotten, though now i kind of wish that song would come back. i love Florida Georgia Line but Sun Daze is one of my least favorites and Summertime Blues by Alan Jackson, the lyrics to the song are not realistic, labor laws.

    • @sabinelang3113
      @sabinelang3113 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paulafitzhenry1036 Summertime blues is originally by Eddie Cochran and was first released in 1958 (according to Wikipedia), so the labor laws then were probably different. The song has been covered many times. The first version I heard was by The Beach Boys, and in that historical frame the lyrics made sense to me. Actually, every time I hear it I imagine a little imaginary video clip to it in my head :D

That isn’t a very good song, but she does have a great voice and some good songs like Girls In My Hometown and Laying Low. I’d say my favorite stuff of hers are her live/acoustic performances. My understanding of Different for Girls makes a lot more sense with the music video, since the guy tries to do what the song says except he doesn't actually get any better by the end, where the girl talks with her friends and lets herself grief the relationship and she goes out drinking happily by the end. So to me it sounded more like a dry irony, like they know what they are saying isn't true; like it often is a bit different for girls but that doesn't mean its better for guys. I still see you're point, if you don't think that break-up reactions are different for girls and guys then even ironically it doesn't make sense.

    I will echo your sentiments on “Hurricane” by Luke Combs. I’ll be honest, my introduction to Luke was “When it Rains, it Pours”. It was reminiscent of the music I fell in love with Country music, but yet had a modern feel. When I found out it was not his debut, I took a listen to “Hurricane” and just didn’t get it. At all. I’d go as far as to say that it is my absolute least favorite song of his and am baffled that it was what put him on the map.
    Great video yet again!

    Something I wanna say about Luke Combs "Hurricane" I don't ever go out of my way to listen to it on Spotify. But that song in person at a concert is really good. I don't know what they do different at the concert but it sounds a little better. Something with the guitars I maybe a bit more prominent. Im not sure.

    I didn't see your IG post, or I might have commented. But if you ever do a part 2, here are my "picks" of songs I don't
    care for from artists I like &/or love: Keith Urban- "Blue Ain't Your Color"; Luke Bryan- "All My Friends Say";
    Tracy Lawrance- "Find Out Who Your Friends Are"; Toby Keith- "Red Solo Cup"; (going old school here) Willie Nelson-
    "On The Road Again"; Dierks Bentley- "What Was I Thinking" + "Free And Easy"; Zach Brown Band- "Chicken Fried".
    I'm sure there are more but I can't think of any other songs or artists 'off the top of my head' right now. And, quick question: how/why do you not like Taylor's "You Need To Calm Down"? That one has a pretty great message: just treat other people with basic human decency no matter if your opinions/lifestyles are different.

It does take me awhile to let go and I'm more of a loner so I have plenty of alone time to think. I spend a lot of time at home reading, painting, cleaning and listening to music. My nights I spend on the beach taking photos while listening to music and I love it that way. I like to think maybe he's talking about all of us ladies that are not the typical of today's times and not in their 20's. Never heard it before so now I'm going to give it a listen.

Ugh!). I agree - Miranda Lambert's Mama's Broken is kickass in my view, but I have always hated Little Red Wagon and wondered how that could have been such a 'hit' song.

    On Hurricane by Luke Combs: I’ve been a huge fan of his ever since I heard that song when it came out, so while now I’d say it’s not my absolute favorite of his by any stretch, it’ll always kind of have a place in my music heart.

    I think ever lovin hand is definitely a strange song, but it’s really well written and has that classic Tyler childers bluegrass sound so imo it’s a good song. It’s just so different from his hits like feathered Indians, whitehouse road, nose on the grindstone, lady May etc. I don’t think Tyler has bad songs, certainly some that are better than others, but no bad songs per se. Especially not compared to the songs in this video lmao

      As a fellow massive Eric Church fan, I agree with your take. I felt like he was pandering to radio with both that song and his appearance on "The Only Way I Know."
      Given that preconceived notion I had, when I heard "Springsteen" for the first time listening to the radio, I thought that it was sadly going to tank on the charts because it was it was too smart of a lyric to resonate with the masses during the early stages of the "Bro-Country" era. I'm ecstatic that I was dead wrong.

    This is a tangent but one of the most painful live performances is Alan Jackson, George Strait, Dierks Bently and Brad Paisley singing Country Boy together. It was so bad and I probably need therapy to unsee it.
    The song itself is playful and delivers a well-mannered country man as a bad boy dont-need-no-wing-man, flying solo, getting all the ladies sort of vibe. But that performance had all 4 of the big stars playing alpha and fighting over the narrative, making the song and the performance kind of petty and unpalatable. None of the innuendo was coming across as playful, but just really creepy.
