@@danwetzel4021 you're kind of ignorant here...... Definitely not high risk in stopped traffic..... Also, he was smart and kept himself in front of his truck... That fire truck weighs in at a pretty few pounds and some jackass in a car isn't going to flinch that fire truck... We use our trucks as a barrier frequently, especially on accident calls...... What is the difference in him getting about 200 feet ahead of his rig in stopped traffic to inform drivers to move and being on scene with two lanes of traffic whizzing by at 70 mph 5 feet a way from you while working an auto accident?? I think it's pretty clear that you have no idea what you are talking about..... I'm a Firefighter of 10 years running and what you just said is most probably one of the absolute dumbest things I've heard in my entire life.... If he should be suspended for standing in stopped traffic to inform the public that he serves, then I guess we should all be suspended every time we work an auto accident with traffic blowing past at high speeds just a few feet away, right? What he did was fine and in no way should result in suspension. He communicated to the drivers clogged up on the interstate and managed to clear a path for his rig in doing so... If you think that constitutes disciplinary action, I pray to God that you never find your way to any rank, should you actually be a firefighter.... Your logic is flawed and I'd be willing to bet you have little-no experience as a Firefighter.

I was almost run off the road one day by a women who had pulled over for my blue lights then decided to pull back out just as I was about to pass. I had to go into the breakdown area of the other side of the road to avoid a collision. Worst ones are the ones that see you and don't care or bother trying to pull over or park in the fire lanes in front of stores get those a lot in the tourist season during the summer
@@2012frawd in that situation I could understand but I've had people just not move even when they had room and in one occasion while responding to a multi dept. structure fire a beach goer intentionally blocked me even flicking me off in her rear view mirror. We really need to start teaching drivers to prepare for emergency vehicles BEFORE they arrive. There should already be a gap down the middle. If you're parked on the interstate there's probably EVs coming.
Like suggested below, PA seems to help. How about retractable side mirrors to ease your passage in a tight squeeze? Respect for the way you guys are handling this.
13:48 as a semi truck driver you never turn that mutch since the back end of the trailer gets longer towords the firetruck and it blocks the firetruck so he should turn a tiny bit and then get wheels straight and then drive forword if he can not do that at the start just stay where u are and try to get the back end of the trailer more to the side every truck drivre should know that im just 14 and i know that my self
80% of Firefighters are Volunteer in America! That is a crazy fact! IN MY STATE WE (LEO's) CRACKED DOWN HARD ON DRIVERS WHO DO NOT MOVE OUT OF THE WAY FOR THESE GUYS!
Try waking up at 3 am to your phone or pager going off for a call. I don't care if the guy is only in his underwear. If he can do his job right what does it matter
Scary to see an engine stuck in traffic like that when lives are at stake. A sigh of relief when you were finally able to get a clear path down the shoulder. Always respect a firefighter as they are willing to risk their own life to go into a burning building to save yours.
That poor big rig you kept honking at didn’t know what to do since you had been going on the side and had room to keep going, he didn’t know if you wanted him to stay there or move over.
WARUM muss erst jedesmal jemand aussteigen, damit es funktioniert? JEDEM gehört der Führerschein direkt vor Ort entzogen, der nicht in der Lage ist, eine Rettungsgasse zu bilden!!!
Then it gets hit and the truck keeps going. Worst case scenario trucks out of commission an you immediately radio dispatch to call another unit/station.
Man I hate responding sometimes and I have drove fire engines to calls and alot of civilians just either don't know what to do when we come up behind then it they don't care and my favorite civilian is the person who will match your speed in front of you or go faster lol
in my country which is Austria, Europe you have to built a so called emergency corridor... so emergency rigs respond in the middle of the street ! left lanes have to pull to the left and right lanes to the right and in the middle is the corridor ! many of the european countries have this system ! Austria, Germany, Swizerland ect....
it seems odd to rely on cars merging out of the way (thats the issue the crew in this video was having). If traffic is stopped then not all vehicles will have room to merge out of the way. Why not make the emergency vehicles use the emergency corridor as a lane since its going to be clear anyway.
Amed Tajan well that'san option on urban and rural roads, but usually not on highways. I'm from Germany, and except for the service / emergency crossovers at both ends of tunnels, there are no service link roads between both directions of the highways. It wouldn't be safe to drive in the oncoming lanes there when traffic is coming towards you at an unlimited speed 123stew it's actually not an argument that there's no room for them to move. The law requires drivers to create the emergency vehicle passing lane as soon as they approach and end up in a traffic jam. It doesn't even matter why there's a traffic jam (accident, road works, rush hour, ...), they have to clear the emergency vehicle passing lane anyway and before they are able to see or hear an approaching emergency vehicle. Why we don't use the hard shoulder to the right? Well there are various reasons: first off: the law isn't just for highways but for all kinds of multi-lane roads outside the city limits. The least of those have a hard shoulder, and alsosome highway sections don't have one like e.g. most tunnels, some bridges, very old sections, sometimes the first/last few miles or in construction zones. Then, even if there's one, it's usually only as wide as but sometimes also narrower than a commercial truck chassis, on which again most fire trucks are based on. It would be difficult for them to proceed if there are trucks in the right lane. The real problem comes along with the largest of emergency vehicles, like buses, truck cranes or ARFF Crash Tenders. They wouldn't have a chance on the hard shoulder. Then, especially in traffic jams there are often broken-down vehicles on the hard shoulder. And the last argument: driving an emergency vehicle there, they would have to cross the flow of traffic at each exit and at each on-ramp... that's just unsafe and they loose time there
I can tell you first hand it is a terrible feeling when you are in an 18 wheeler trying to get out of the way, but you can't because there is no room to move..
It's especially frustrating when it's due to some dipshit in front of you in a 4-wheeler with like 30 feet of space

@@danwetzel4021 this is by far one of the stupidest comments i have ever seen. you've earned a very special reward. Is the boogie-man gonna get him? with all those stopped vehicles idk man, he could be hiding behind an 18-wheeler. jesus.

6:24-6:26 Quickest comeback for a fire truck
Makes me miss my firefighter days. I drive a semi truck now and secretly installed a fire truck horn and Q siren lol only
Hell yeah brother love that power call and super fast power call
same
wtf is it with some drivers, I honestly don't understand
Its really shocking how bad people are to reacting on emergency wehicles,
it's America, look for video from Europe and you'll see a difference
Where I live the roads are narrow and still we even pull up on the sidewalk to let emergency vehicles through
Ya its pathetic I'm a paramedic/firefighter in both RI and CT and it doesn't matter if I'm running blue or red lights people don't know how to drive.
Part of it is that our road ways are way too small especially in the median and shoulders not enough room for people to pull off.
@@2012frawd in that situation I could understand but I've had people just not move even when they had room and in one occasion while responding to a multi dept. structure fire a beach goer intentionally blocked me even flicking me off in her rear view mirror. Unfortunately for her RISP was responding as well and also saw what she did and her beach plans turned into sitting in a cell for the day
You guys are real hero 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍🥰😍🥰 tnx for your services
We really need to start teaching drivers to prepare for emergency vehicles BEFORE they arrive. There should already be a gap down the middle. If you're parked on the interstate there's probably EVs coming.
i love the "if i am getting up so are you" to all the neighbors
Hats off to the driver you got through some tight ass stuff
Like suggested below, PA seems to help. How about retractable side mirrors to ease your passage in a tight squeeze? Respect for the way you guys are handling this.
How about just take the wide-open emergency shoulder on the right-hand side all the way down.
lol, I love the ring tone of who ever's phone that was around 13:04
13:48 as a semi truck driver you never turn that mutch since the back end of the trailer gets longer towords the firetruck and it blocks the firetruck so he should turn a tiny bit and then get wheels straight and then drive forword if he can not do that at the start just stay where u are and try to get the back end of the trailer more to the side every truck drivre should know that im just 14 and i know that my self
Well at 14 you never have actually driven a Semi into an Accident scene.
that siren sounds dope
Good job to the guy who got out to help the people move out of the way
OMG the driver looks like Claw Boss
Awesome video loved that "Q". The eng driver can drive.
Never hear sirens on empty roads where I live. Only intersections and traffic
Well if they aren't using a siren and a vehicle pulls out in front of them they are at fault. If the siren is on the other driver is at fault.
Yeah but these are Vollys and they live for Code 3 driving and eating junk food.
No bullshit, a old trooper once cited nearly every single car at a accident who blocked emergency vehicles to a accident once we had gone to.
80% of Firefighters are Volunteer in America! That is a crazy fact!
IN MY STATE WE (LEO's) CRACKED DOWN HARD ON DRIVERS WHO DO NOT MOVE OUT OF THE WAY FOR THESE GUYS!
Need some HI-LO!!! Amazing video
That guy driving looks super professional.
its at night, you get out of bed grab the first thing you find and put it on. you don't care how good you look.
He drove super professional so i dont think clothes matter
Try waking up at 3 am to your phone or pager going off for a call. I don't care if the guy is only in his underwear. If he can do his job right what does it matter
And he left the CAB to see the bodies.
DRIVER, you NEVER leave the cab you might need to MOVE the apparatus closer or out of the way.
He looked professional to me. Bravery, courage, integrity and compassion. That is what I saw.
Scary to see an engine stuck in traffic like that when lives are at stake. A sigh of relief when you were finally able to get a clear path down the shoulder. Always respect a firefighter as they are willing to risk their own life to go into a burning building to save yours.
id like to know what what was was muted after he said ur going up the middle lol. I'm sure I have a good idea lol
What is the siren they are using during the heavy traffic?
A wise man once told me "IF IM UP YOUR UP"
Are y'all not posting videos any more pics really miss them
wow a 15 minute response time amazing driving!
Bike Bro's You couldn’t of driven there any faster so STFU!
15 minutes???
Dallas FD is getting hammered for that because the national FBI time to respond is 5 minutes or less.
@@tylercorbin8073 um it was a complement
What model grover air Horns dose this truck uses
They did very very very good at the horn and Q siren nice vid
Looks like a light day on I-81 to me, 10 mile back up is normal in the tri-state.
This is what 81 northbound to the WV line looks like everyday.
holy wow what a mission!

Just imagine the traffic behind them after all of that
Great job guys! I have to ask though why were no police directed to the scene to clear traffic and set up the area?
The Sho-Me siren, does it have the cool sounding intersection tone on it??
Nah it doesn't. Just two tones - warble and whoop.
That's a power call and adam12 siren
Thats all you need, the classics!
That poor big rig you kept honking at didn’t know what to do since you had been going on the side and had room to keep going, he didn’t know if you wanted him to stay there or move over.
Did he not have the headlights on?
Now is that Q siren being controlled by the co-pilot on his foot?? Is that how it works?
Guys good job on dealing with the goof balls and showing them how to move after telling them through the loudspeaker.
It's mainly the trucks, if they don't have enough room to pull off their trailers will be sticking out
7:02 givin that horn a workout, gah damn lol
haw did you guys get thru the traffeck
they need to make shoulders a little wider so we can get over farther especially the semi trucks
Good Driver. Been there folks, nice job getting to the accident.
Where's your station at? Im thinking about joining in near future.
BoneFishCrocodile Supreme we’re located in Buchanan, VA at 19670 Main St. We’re always looking for new members so we’d enjoy to have ya on.
Did you ever join?
i wish we had this kind of fire truck, sirens and the horn, emergency vehicles in my country idk why the siren isn't loud enough to be heard
Did you guys only get out with two for this one? Just wondering!
do you people think that if they could easily move out of the way they wouldn't have?
i dont know why, but i like the siren-horn combination
What a great job by that driver
Can you imagine how pissed they would've been had they went through all that just to get cancelled out
oh trust me it’s happened. I remember the ONE time we completely filled my departments rescue up for a mtutual aid roll over. Cancelled upon arrival

WARUM muss erst jedesmal jemand aussteigen, damit es funktioniert? JEDEM gehört der Führerschein direkt vor Ort entzogen, der nicht in der Lage ist, eine Rettungsgasse zu bilden!!!
What happens if a deer jumps out on these dark roads?
Then it gets hit and the truck keeps going.
Worst case scenario trucks out of commission an you immediately radio dispatch to call another unit/station.
7:55 siren name ??"
Powercall DX5
“Powercall Plus” tone of the Powercall DX5
Man I hate responding sometimes and I have drove fire engines to calls and alot of civilians just either don't know what to do when we come up behind then it they don't care and my favorite civilian is the person who will match your speed in front of you or go faster lol
time to wake the neighbors lol great siren action
The dilemma, emergency lane in the middle, or leave the shoulder open. In North America: Leave the shoulder open
in my country which is Austria, Europe you have to built a so called emergency corridor... so emergency rigs respond in the middle of the street ! left lanes have to pull to the left and right lanes to the right and in the middle is the corridor ! many of the european countries have this system ! Austria, Germany, Swizerland ect....
ok copy that :-)
it seems odd to rely on cars merging out of the way (thats the issue the crew in this video was having).
It wouldn't be safe to drive in the oncoming lanes there when traffic is coming towards you at an unlimited speed
123stew it's actually not an argument that there's no room for them to move.
Well there are various reasons:
first off: the law isn't just for highways but for all kinds of multi-lane roads outside the city limits. And the last argument: driving an emergency vehicle there, they would have to cross the flow of traffic at each exit and at each on-ramp... that's just unsafe and they loose time there
Or use the Emergency Shoulder.
Any idea what model and make the air horns are?
I have no idea. But most trucks have Grover 1510's.
