Engine 162 and Rescue 16 responded to a motor vehicle collision during rush hour traffic. Upon arrival crews found a multi-vehicle collision with several patients that had sustained minor injuries.

To the people who are upset about the Fire Engine blocking lanes of Traffic I am going to point out that the absolute number one killer of all first responders (Police, Firefighters, Ambulance crew, odot workers, etc) is people driving their cars into a working scene. They positioned their Engine perfectly to protect their lives and the lives of those in the crash as best they could. As a Volunteer Firefighter myself this was done perfectly. Great driving keep up the good work!

Everybody acts like their 20 minutes lost is worth somebody's life.
Their lives come first. Anyone complaining about the truck should step in their shoes with people not paying attention on the highway... I'd bet their tune changes after that.
Sky in every country they got laws and rights to do something. In my country they block the road with the heaviest car to avoid more problems
Sky the number one killer of police officers is traffic accidents where typically speed and not wearing a seatbelt is a major factor.

Glad you liked it. I usually put something between the camera and mount to prevent the vibration but forgot this time, unfortunately.
B. Mills what do you put between the mount and camera? I always get vibration and I don’t know how to make it stop
Normally I use a piece of an EMS glove because it's easy and dampens any vibration. I recently got the new GoPro and it has a new mount that's designed to eliminate any vibration so hopefully it'll solve the problem. I'm not sure but it may be possible to buy the new mounts and use them on older models as well.

That was some great driving! It is nice to see that even drivers on the other lane are stopping (I am not sure if they are required to or not, but it makes things a lot easier, I guess. :D) Greetings from germany and thank you to all life savers!
Both lanes of traffic are suppose to pull over to the side and stop but if you cant do that, try your best to get out of their way, but if you cant do either of those things your suppose to keep driving and when you get a chance get out of their way. I was basically raised in a firehouse
It depends on the state laws. But usually if there is a some type of physical barrier or a multi lane road the opposite side doesn't have to stop

It's a lot like how I drove the firetruck in chicago. Much of the time I said screw it and took the on coming lanes. As fast a possible and still be safe. I sometimes had to pinch myself, "these guys are paying me to do this? I do it for free ! " It was a blast !
This provides a new perspective on why it is important to pull over when you hear emergency sirens.

Honestly though everyone has the same information so when you respond you just kind of chat about life while driving lol
dude, being a first responder you see alot of shit its just better to stay calm
Once you do it enough, there's nothing else to do, so at least don't sit there awkwardly and stay quiet.
There use to it
You honestly get used to it really, imagine attaching yourself emotionally to every call, extremely exhausting and demoralizing. In short you learn to stop caring about peoples problems and more on doing your job correctly to save said people

My dad was a firefighter and he told this story where, he was driving with the captain in the passenger and they hit some traffic on the highway, so he had to pull off to the side and drive like half on the road and half off the side, he used to say that’s the day he was known as a great driver 😂

Ok as a driver myself, I will give credit, this driver did very well. Personally I would have slowed down a little bit at some of those intersections, bit the driver did real well. Otherwise I don't have many complaints. Now where I'm at, we couldn't get away with some of that due to safety concerns, bit each state is different.

You are not wrong Alex. Remember responding to an incident on the M1 in the early hours. (Was a fatality sadly). Minus 4°C. Very poor visibility. I was doing 70+ under blue lights, was still being overtaken!!!
