@Jon-Bon Zombie Same, but fortunately for me I will have/& do have a pc to run the game but I know what you mean. I am a huge supporter of Drdisrespct as well so in the game Rogue Agents. I PURCHASED the Drdisrespct Skin & didnt play the game really at all. Just enjoyed the skin and also supporting the two time! But this is even better because HONESTLY Drdisrespct don't need my measly 20 bucks I spent on the package deal in Rogue Angel's Online Skin/Currency store. But with Big_Frys game it's a more close nit type of scenario like Fry don't really need my measly $20 dollars either but, it's the fact were helping support a friend or someone we believe in within our community then the Corporate Overlords.

hopefully this hasn't been few and far between but i love easy red 2 man you guys did a great job, i have it on switch and i play it constantly an a nice in between other tactical shooters. and updating the hands models was the greatest shit in the world lolol
Easy Red 2 is so good, a love letter to the early ww2 shooters long forgotten.
Actually getting in the trenches and seeing how hard it is to put together a game is a very humbling experience.
No it isn’t. This is an excuse that is supposed to temper your reviews when these shitty games come out.
It simultaneously humbles you and raises your standards for basic things. I'm pretty lenient on indie devs but when I'm playing AAA games I find my self getting way more pissed knowing the solutions should be easy if they did their jobs correctly.

.... you have things like calling for artillery, calling for aritllery smoke screen, calling for tank support, destructible buildings, armored vechicles, tanks, planes, whole inventory system, ability to drag wounded soldiers, as a medic you can heal ( and you have 3 types of wounds) as a radio operator you have to give coordinates to artillery strikes (if you give wrong coordinates you could bomb yourself) you can play as artillery man... this basic shooter have more features than some AAA games
yeah by no means its a basic shooter, he just didn't bother to get in depth and see why it has a loyal fanbase, he just played it as any other shooter without any care.

The devs have done really good at making huge improvements since 2020. Like holy shit it's like seeing a person slowly grow up and develop over time. Improving animations, less jank, added content, adding basic workshop capabilities, improved optimization while simultaneously adding some improvements to graphics, better UI, weapons feel better, more voice acting etc. I feel that as long as this game keeps getting support and the devs keep up the pace, it'll eventually turn into something HUGE. Especially if they manage to add better modding tools.
I am really happy how this game turned out. i remember playing when it came out and how I was disappointed. I started playing recently and wow it is amazing, I even bought the stalingrad DLC lol
better buy normandy dlc now, twice as much missions than in Stalingrad dlc, and much more fun
Easy red 2 is amazing and worth every penny, just buy the game and dlc, you won’t regret it. Just change the plane controls, you thank me later

Just found this game thanks to you. Maxed out everything, minimum hud. Couple buddies on a custom server running some sweet missions for hours. This game has scratched a itch I've had for years.
Had this in my wishlist for about a year now. Never thought I’d see anything about it ever.
It's cool to see you come back to this game again. I still play it, and it honestly does a lot of good stuff. Really fun game for what it is. They try their best and honestly have a lot of features and little details that I wish triple A games had, and they do it with a small budget.
That is one of the selling points of ER2 imo
I agree in the sense that you may have been harsh on them. But on the bright side at least they ended up being one of those devs that instead of getting defensive about it, they saw where they needed to improve and are still working at it. I do enjoy seeing this side of bigfry that alot of other big youtubers are afraid to show and that's just simply being human and not being afraid to take criticism and grow.
I love the idea of you going back to games you heavily criticized in the past now that you've been working on Transience for a while. Not that it somehow makes the games better, but it's just cool to hear your new perspective and whether or not the game has improved with time.
Basic ai is an understatement. I havent seen a better ai with pathfinding in any battlefieldesqe game before this game

It definitely seems like a game, that's a good way to just relax and enjoy shooting some bad guys. Sometimes I like having games like that to jump into. It's a big reason I revisit TABS, it's just simple fun.
I’m glad you’ve came back and changed your opinion on the game. It’s OK that you don’t like the gameplay, and it doesn’t appeal to you, I can respect that. Personally this game is one of my favorite games of all time. just because it’s just so straight forward and outright FUN. PVE and PVP with my friends was some of the most fun I’ve had in gaming since the Star Wars battlefront two days. I absolutely love this game and I always will. Highly suggest anyone who just wants fun World War II simulation without Hollywood PC historical inaccuracies and narratives… Or sweaty multiplayer matches that plague most AAA games, should definitely pick this up👌👌

BigFry...just do what makes you happy and create the best game you can with what seems to be an awesome team. People as you know are always gonna hate...I like seeing someone going after their dream ( even with the headaches of it all ) as I never got the chance myself, and I do want anyone to be like me. ( someone who missed all their dreams of competing at a high level and also learned way too late what I love and was not in a position to do anything about it. I for one will be following your progress closely.
Still better then most AAA games these days. It's basically classic battlefront in the modern war style.

Its an honest project made for fun, its been getting better and deserves some respect for what it is even if no amazing still.
I bought the first easy red game many years ago as just a fun little $2 game and enjoyed some laughs. I hope they continue to develop easy red 2 and make it a more stable and enjoyable game

hey bigfry, as an environment artist who works in the industry. I'm tired of howmuch the industry downplay us by saying that they have the assets - and I should be able to finish this map in a week. without thinking a single gamedesign aspects and how much time it takes to even layout a map. Using assets isn't bad, but mashing them together in a lazy manner and calling it a map is.

Easy Red 2 back then was not a good game. People were still allowed to enjoy it if they wanted to, but it was a rough game. I couldn't enjoy it due to the A.I. forgetting what to do half the time. There were times that they would surrender the moment the game started. I went back to it a few months ago and it's definitely a lot better. It's feels a little like a more casual Red Orchestra 2 now.
Without even watching this video: Yes, you were. I'd recommend playing with friends, it's fun to fuck around in. Especially in vehicles

Another game I think you were wrong about was Sniper Ghost warrior contracts which I understand the doubts taking into account the devs history but with C1 and C2 they managed to create amazing solid experiences with tons of replayability.
That game was...just not good when I played. I can't say I was wrong about it, but glad they are turning shit around!
As long as your game meets the requirements of what you think makes for a great game, then try not to worry about other people's opinion.
But regarding easy red 2, it's not for everyone. It has a very specific audience and we are very vocal about how things should be. In the discussions I always argue about keeping the jank, the random recoil, the rpg elements, the difficulty, single player experience, etc.
I'm glad you went back and did a second take at the game, i have been interested and following its development for awhile now. Must have hidden them keys pretty damn well considering i only caught the one up until you talked about it. Going to have to go back through a second time to see how blind i was... 🤣
I dunno if its tunnel vision, the 58 inch screen right in front of me, or my squirrel brain looking all over the place at everything in the games the first time through but damn i was blind. Went back through actually looking and found them lol
It just looks like they bitten more than they can chew. Doesn't look that bad, doesn't look stunning either but by doing this they are learning and learning big and fast. Who knows...they might be the one who are going to pull an Insurgency Sandstorm game in a couple of years...or not. As long as they are having fun and they are learning something in the long run... life is so stressful, they might do this to change their mind of the daily 9 to 5 they hate, who knows??? Ima wish them the best! For you Bigfry, really cool that you're able to go back to something you trashed and now do a positive critisism and encourage indie devs, props to you brother!! Cheers!!

This reminds me of the F2P game Enlisted. Same thing where you command a squad and if you die you can switch to another member. Enlisted does look a bit better than this game and had 6 campaigns.

yeah easy red 2 surprised me when i went to boot it up like wow they done well
one thing i hate about easy red 2 is the soldiers third person running animations, they are bought from the asset store and ive seen them in a multitude of other games so i really hope they change it soon.
I personally love the German running animations (except the MG38 and MG42) since they look nice. All the others are just eh.
They're working on that, they just revamped the FPS animations

back in the day i was really mad at how you took this game and then recommended a game that was completely unplayable just because it looked more polished. this is the kind of redemption i expected, i usually like the content of this channel but i am really happy to see this, this game deserves more love and well what can i say, there is not bigger wisdom than step back and getting over your mistakes.

I played both 1 and 2 and for the $10 dollars it was a really good game. Graphics dont matter that much unless you are 12.
I'd like to say that although this is more fair in one perspective, many people don't have any kind of game dev knowledge and in the end, game should be fun and good for the average enjoyer. I do believe your previous review still also holds water, but this doesn't hurt to go with it.
Easy Red 2 is the best game/concept I’ve played in a long time. It has the depth of something like Arma but makes it super approachable and fun like Battlefield, without the tedium of Arma. When modding support is added there will be so much potential to include other conflicts/wars outside of WW2 as the framework is already there. There’s already a really good map/mission editor.
Best of all it’s fun in both singleplayer and multiplayer (both coop and PVP or PVPVE). The AI is some of the best I’ve seen in an indie tactical FPS (has some issues but those will be fixed in no time), but it’s far better than most tactical shooters.
Also the Dev is really cool and always listening to the community

Honestly devs just cross by eachothers ideas. Games like this and ENLISTED just need to follow brother in arms road to hill 30 multiplayer. Where you could give your teammates commands. Instead just having them follow and just stand there.
u can do that in Easy Red 2, Actually ER2 dev intended to make the game inspired by Brothers in Arms series!

@@Mrblk92 You can order your squad to do many things, like moving to a certain point, form a straight line, follow you, get in a vehicle or get out of a vehicle, call artillery provided you have a radio man, call for tank support, call for a bayonet charge, call for a strategic flank...and many more

A few days before i seen this vid, I played ER2 and felt it was one of the greatest Singleplayer ww2 FPSs ive ever played. I didnt grow up with Battlefield so Im not aware of the exeperiece the BF ww2 titles bring, but this is a great modern alternative.

Lower the expectations of your audience so when you launch your game and it’s garbage people won’t trash you for it, it’s what bluedrake did and that clearly worked so bigfry is giving it a try.

I bought the game a year or so ago. Was it a a great game? Nah, but it is a game I kept playing, like a idle game. If I didn't know what to play, but wanted to play something, Or didn't have much time, I booted it up and play a round, or just till I had to leave. I played it for what it was and that was fun. A sort of offline Battlefield experience. The balance was way off at times, causing you to get to a complete halt or just being overrun and nothing you could do about it but it was fun none the less.
I appreaciate for what the game does, namely, being a shooter. I'm sick and tired of these AAA shooters were they stuff all these boring ass quicktime events into it to make it cinematic...Yeah why let me just run and jump out of a window when you can have me tap "Q" near a window and see my character jump trough that window right? Why let me open my own damn door when you can lock me for 30 seconds into a animation of a AI opening the door for me. Or how you look at so many damn cutscenes while the game isn't long as is...seriousely, why do we need all those cut scenes in a 4 hour campaign in CoD? LET ME SHOOT STUFF. This game isn't the best shooter, the animations, the mechanics, all just isn't up to par, but atleast it lets me shoot stuff! It let's me fly and drive, yeah it's arcady as heck, but hey, atleast I won't have to press Q and E rapidly to shake of a enemy plane, no, I have to actually try and shake it off when it chases me. It's not a game you play for hours, but it's still a fun snack in between and that all for only 10 euro's or less when it's on sale.
I have been playing this game for a while now and I really enjoy this game. By no means is it perfect but you can have a lot of fun playing it. There is a lot of potential here and I'm excited to see the games future, and hopefully a Normandy campaign.
