    Instead of using the "egg noodles", I use deli roasted chicken breast sliced to about the noodle thickness. It works great and does not add any new flavor to the lasagna. People can not even tell that there wasn't any noodles in there. Just an option

    Bought ingredients yesterday for seafood lasagna in anticipation of today’s video (shrimp, sea scallops, crab, and even a splurge on a LITTLE BIT of lobster) Having seafood lasagna tonight. Would have done Italian version tonight, but did that last week (to report back to you as one of your UNOFFICIAL “taste testers”. 😂😂) It’s going to be INCREDIBLE! Thanks for the recipe. Love, Mom. ❤ (Folks - you’re going to LOVE this one.)

    We made lasagna once a week at our restaurant, always varying the type. My favorite is a béchamel, no mozzarella, except on the last layer. It’s good with an Italian sausage sauce, or a seafood version. Thanks for the noodle recipe! My husband will like this a lot.

    Fantastic video again! My favorite part was watching your wife’s reaction. Yet again you make cooking look so easy. I usually am disappointed in the results of my efforts so I guess that is part of the reason I don’t enjoy cooking, but I love watching you cook! Can you tell me the difference between powdered egg whites and egg white protein powder? I got both, but the egg white protein powder was harder to find and the only difference in ingredients was Sunflower lecithin in the protein version.

    • @ChrisCookingNashville
      @ChrisCookingNashville  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! I’m so glad you’re enjoying these.
      The powdered egg white/egg white protein powder names are often used interchangeably. I will use whichever one is a good price and is only egg whites on the ingredient list. Whether it says protein powder or not I try to use just pure egg whites. 😊

    It finally cooled down enough in Central Montana to turn the oven on and this was the target recipe. Haven't done lasagna for years but saw the noodles and had to make this. Hubby and I agree this will become a cooler weather favorite. The texture of the noodles really makes it! I also might cut the noodles into lasagna strips and make lasagna roll ups with them.
    Now to coordinate the cheesy bread and the lasagna preparation so they can be served together! Fall cannot arrive soon enough! Thanks for the delicious recipes and educational videos!

    This is awesome, Chris. I never imagined my food journey would bring me here to your channel - but I'm pleased going through your collection. It's amazing. I found you via the Keto Twins who I've subscribed to for some time now and find lots of ideas. I love to eat and I love to cook - and my imagination is inspired by what I've seen you present. When I started my weight management with my doctor 10 months ago, I originally thought of "diet" and "restrictions" etc. and now I realize it's a "lifestyle" with a myriad of choices and eating pleasures. And what I've learned is that there are such creative people out there like you and the Keto Twins and Serious Keto et al who have brought happiness to me. I'm not officially Keto, but the instructions and new habits from my doctor match very much the Keto life-style and I stumbled on recipes that would match what I "should be doing". I've peeled off about 70 pounds since I started - and I've become much healthier and at nearly 60, I can do things again in the gym that I thought were in my past. My nephew lost over 100 pounds doing carnivore and he has maintained it, now doing some Keto-style living (he loves cooking too). My family and friends all benefit from my numerous experiments in the kitchen - and I love it too. Thank you for all your creativity. You're a wonderful person.

    Thank you for bringing up the "dietary restrictions, allergies, religious restrictions, etc" thing. It's one of the things that makes me cringe when people say "just don't tell them".
    I've known a fair number of folks with food allergies and know a few folks with religious restrictions.

    • @ChrisCookingNashville
      @ChrisCookingNashville  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely. Yes food restrictions and allergies and religious observance all matter a lot, but that’s obviously outside our realm to control except on a case by case basis. That’s why I like to make these kinds of things as flexible as possible (like subbing another meat flour for the pork crumbs or just omitting them entirely if need be). Thank you for watching. 😊

    Lasagna is easily one of my favorite meals and I'll have to add this to the list! To cut acidity in sauce you can also use a pinch of sugar (or two) and while I love sour cream in general I don't like it as much in pasta sauce but it works quite well too! I've also seen another TH-camr use thinly sliced ham/prosciutto as a means to bulking it up a bit.

    Hey Chris, just made this last night, and the entire family LOVED it! I made my own ricotta (so deliciously simple!), browned a tiny bit of Italian sausage with the beef, just for a little added flavor, and accidentally used 1/2 cup of heavy cream in the sauce, instead of the 1/4 in the recipe, but it came out fine. I'm definitely going to use your béchamel sauce in my prototype testing of carnivore soufflé! 🙌🙌🙌

    I may cut back on dairy myself though after watching "The Carnivore Doctor's" recent video here on YT this week about dairy being addictive & keeps one fat if trting to lose weight.

    Other than "pork" there is nothing in your lasagnas that wouldnt be in a standard lasagna...so no need to panic about allergies/preferance per se either! "Gluten free" and "sugar free" and "nut free" are rhe only needed descriptors for a pot luck ❤️

    I used to use a sheet of sushi nori, the pressed dried seaweed stuff, instead of lasagna noodles! Entirely the wrong flavor but it did separate layers. Egg-based noodles should be better!
    Real ricotta is fairly high-carbohydrate as it’s really a whey cheese. A lot of stuff sold as ricotta isn’t quite as carby.

      ME TOO. I CANNOT STAND to watch people waste even 1 drop of food. I have a big collection of rubber spatulas for every job. It's very distracting to see waste of any kind. Sorry Chris, just a pet peeve for some of us . Otherwise looks good. Will have to watch again and ignore not scraping all the sauce with a spatula. LOL❤

    Made this and I have to say it is AMAZING! However I’m doing carnivore right now and unfortunately your carnivore version still has around 10 to 15 carbs per serving, it’s mainly the ricotta cheese so I might just not put that in next time. perfect for Ketovore’s!
    Love your recipes! keep it up!

    • @ChrisCookingNashville
      @ChrisCookingNashville  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Depends on the ricotta you use. Shouldn’t be more than a few carbs in the ricotta for the whole pan. 👍🏼

    • @amberlim866
      @amberlim866 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Please share your ricotta? I’d love to know what brand because I love ricotta, I buy good quality ricotta and it still has 5 g per serving which is 20 g for the whole pan.
      Thanks

    • @ChrisCookingNashville
      @ChrisCookingNashville  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The best thing to do is make it homemade. It’s pretty easy, and that makes it about 1.8 carbs for 60 grams. The store bought ones usually add sugar and thickeners and don’t use has fatty of milk so that’s where a good portion of the carbs are coming from.

    This looks delicious, like using the smaller pans, makes sense. I've been wondering where you get your mozzarella cheese. In a previous video you used 'fresh' mozz and in this one you had tiny balls of mozz. Do you get them at your local grocery store? Just curious.
