    Good. Somebody made a video that shows how to remove the old damaged screen properly. Others failed to show how the use of the hairdryer is used to soften the adhesive, and how to detach the cable on the bottom of the old screen without damaging it, and then how to re-assemble it all back together. I used thin guitar plectrums to pry off the bezel without damaging it. There was very strong double sided tape on the back of the old screen. I ended up using a thin kitchen knife to unstick the tape, but the hairdryer would have made it much easier to do. Next, I need to order a new replacement screen and put it all back together.

    If you want to remove the screen for reuse, you will need to soften the adhesive that holds it in the frame to remove it from the frame. That is the purpose of the hair dryer.

    Wonderful! One question, can you replace a touchscreen with in a non touchscreen model?

      I don't know the answer to your question. The laptop I replaced the screen on was a non-touchscreen laptop and I replaced it with a non-touchscreen screen. It seems logical that you could replace a touchscreen with a non-touchscreen since a touchscreen works just like a non-touchscreen if you're not using the touch feature. But, I really don't know.

      @@cleatsimmons ideapad s340 is a touch screen. At least mine is. And no, I don't think you can replace a touch screen with a non touch screen.

    after i replaced the screen, my camera is not working. can you suggest what can I do to fix this problem?

    • @cleatsimmons
      @cleatsimmons  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suggest that you carefully check the connections between the laptop and the screen, and also between the laptop and the top cover. It is possible that you could have dislodged the connection between the laptop and the camera.

    I have finally got my screen off, how do i take the connector off at the bottom cause the tape wont come up and i dont wanna brake it

    • @cleatsimmons
      @cleatsimmons  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tape should come up if you carefully pry on it. It is there to retain the connector in place. Just be patient and pry carefully. If it doesn't loosen, apply a little heat from your heat gun, that will loosen the achesive.
