Scholz : What are the plans to switch Farm tractors and equipment from Diesel to Electric ? Is Germany and Europe industry on it ? How long will it take ? How much will it cost ? Whoever manufactures a full line of Electric Farm Equipment will get the Global Business, what is the plan ? Instead send more € billions to Zelenskiy and Yermak without any Audits? The 2024 Elections must change everything, in my opinion.
Electric tractors and trucks cost about twice as much as diesel. Of course, the cost of these more expensive tractors and trucks will be passed on to the end consumer.
Totally agreed , we are one minute after midnight to turn Europe’s fate around! Germany needs to vote wiser.
My additional Question Zero: do we understand electricity has to be generated somewhere somehow with conventional methods with a 20-40% transfer and transportation loss? or do we believe it appears magically in the wires? I'd hardly call it a tax break anyway, I assume it is merely a refund of the tax on diesel that goes toward road costs and as they don't normally use the road they shouldn't have to pay that tax anyway. There's no road tax on diesel In NZ but you have to buy road user charges if your diesel vehicle is used on road.
As a Russian I can say already now, they will blame Bad Bad Putin

Businesses of any type look at taxes as one more cost of doing business. Raise taxes and they will pass it on to the consumer.

Government has no right to set market caps, which is a way for bureaucrats to determine what is fair profit for people in the private sector. Especially since since government regulations and laws drive inflation, and government itself taxes and spends like drunken sailors with no accountability.

If you want to increase taxes on diesel, it's going to increase the cost of food. Sure, you can choose an EV for your commuter how ever the real world is powered by diesel whether it's for transportation, cultivating or manufacturing.... I’ve seen a documentary on EV tractors. There’s the cost to buy a new tractor and of course the infrastructure to support it. What happens to the gas tractor that’s still operational?
