    Melodyne 6: separate all your tracks and create stems from an already-mixed song using AI and frequency analysis
    Melodyne 7: finds the tuning of your song, then corrects your vocal tracks, creates harmonies and mixes everything for you, automatically
    Melodyne 8: creates your entire song, vocals, music and everything, mixes and masters it, and uploads it to all streaming platforms
    Melodyne 9: think of what you want your song to sound like. Melodyne scans your brainwaves and creates it.
    Melodyne X: melodyne has become sentient. it is everywhere, it is omniscient. it's how we think, how we communicate. it has taken over. run.

    I got a fun idea. Use the copy/paste spectrum to EQ match two vocal tracks. I just tried it with a verse take and a chorus take that were recorded on two different microphones and it totally worked! They sound way more like the vocals were both recorded on the same microphone!!!

      Honestly, this occurred to me too. Not long ago, DaVinci Resolve was a just a high-end color grading tool, now it's a mostly complete NLE that more and more video editors are jumping ship from Premiere Pro, Media Composer, and Final Cut Pro for. At what point does Melodyne become a full-blown DAW??

    Wow Celemony team! You r Innovative geniuses!
    Feature request:
    9:10 so essentially at this point it becomes an additive synthesizer and waveshape is based on the harmonic partials, right?
    Which is based on audio content rather than midi..
    So I actually imagine using Melodyne with ARA as my synthesizer, like recording singing just to turn it into a synth with this..
    The feature request is to take the harmonic partial design further to realize it's potential as an additive synthesizer that reshapes audio material.
    Ability to choose starting points like sine, saw, square and finer frequency partials than harmonics.
    And a small window showing the resulting wave-cycle shape.
    Thank you for your ingenuity
    Good luck

    • @celemony
      @celemony  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The DNA technology recognizes all the frequencies in a polyphonic recording, but it doesn’t distinguish any timbres or sound differences. In other words, the recording won’t be split into separate instrument tracks, you only see the notes of all instruments together.

    Can you copy the spectrum of one instrument then apply the inverse to another to create separation?

    • @LeviWhalen
      @LeviWhalen 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      An extension of this idea would be to “overlay” spectra from multiple sources and be able to non-destructively adjust them independently from the original spectrum. That would give you fine grained control over the “inverted” shape and how it affects the source spectrum.

    • @LeviWhalen
      @LeviWhalen 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could also have a “sidechain” mode to apply spectrum changes that are bound to another instrument in real time.

    I'm ...relatively smart... and I know this program pretty well. I came from Auto tune because it's quicker and easier to do offline editing that sounds natural as opposed to trying to load vocal tracks into auto tune graphical mode and scroll while you make the manual changes. The only other way is automatic mode all of the time which can pull off here and there and that's a mess..and it sounds horrible. Antares needs to fix that.
    Having said that, I just watched this video and it went RIGHT OVER my head. But of what I DID pick up..I would probably use EQ globally, not on specific notes really....that's a rare thing. And I like the sound of the EQ's I use in my DAW. So....?? But it's a cool addition I guess.
    In terms of harmonics....that was the coolest part I think of what I saw. It might be cool if it sounded clean and clear, but of what I heard it was kinda cheesy sounding...and not what I would use in a master recording to enhance professional vocals on a major record. So...?? Anyway...am I seriously the only person here who needs to go back and rewatch this.

    I own the studio version and it's one of the worst purchases I've ever made. Melodyne has that Apple Logic feel like no one with any musical background had a hand in the design of it. Just like Logic it's very good,powerful and packed with features but the workflow is uninspiring unless you're in the studio editing vocals for a living. For someone who just wants to find the key of samples and adjust them with ease Melodyne is a pain in the azz to use for simple things. Maybe it's really just for vocals and i'm using it wrong because it's way more difficult to use than any other editor I've used. No play,rewind,return to zero or stop is mind boggling at a price of $600 I think I paid for it. Imo Melodyne needs the workflow of the average DAW NOT Logic!!! I won't be upgrading.
