thanks for the reminder to put a long stud into the engine and through the transmission to make lining up easier. We have a Belarus tractor in the shop right now that is ready to go back together with a new clutch. The engine end is blocked and there is a floor jack under the transmission. 2 people leaning on the rear tires can push it together if all goes well. John in MB
Have you encountered any Whitworth nuts/bolts on this Triumph? So far I've come across 3 or 4 on my 1958 AH Sprite MK 1 despite it supposedly not having any. Only way to figure out they were Whitworth was to measure them with digital calipers then cross match them in a lookup table. One measured .522 inches across flats which is too big for SAE 1/2, too big for 13MM, to small for 14MM, but just about perfect for 1/4W.
No Whitworth but some of the sub assemblies us BA sized fasteners. Carbs and electrical mostly. Fortunately I have most of the common BA sized taps and dies from my fathers old tool kit.

It is a great "trick". I have used it several times in the past. It makes life sooooo much easier. Thanks for watching.
I've used the long stud trick too and it really helps.
It works well and is so easy to do. Thanks for watching.
