Happy Halloween! This is a great puzzle image. I know this was very challenging because so much of it was dark. People puzzle differently and there is no right or wrong way. You have to puzzle in whatever way works for you and makes it a fun and enjoyable experience. After all, puzzling is suppose to be relaxing, not cause anxiety. I don't have a Heye puzzle, but I have 2 Bepuzzled Buried Blueprints puzzles and the boxes are really very oddly shaped. This makes them very hard to store. One is Dracula's Castle and the other is Noah's Ark. They are from 1996 and 1993 so I don't mind the odd shaped boxes and they're not as large as yours. Great job.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience! That's really interesting about the Bepuzzled boxes, I have 5 of them here too, and they live in my wardrobe hahaha, m such a silly box shape isn't it? stay tuned btw, I will make a Bepuzzled video soon! I appreciate the support and I hope you enjoyed the video!
It’s a great puzzle. Love to find one myself. And in regards to going faceless, you have to do what is comfortable, was scared that you were actually leaving TH-cam when I first saw the title of the vid. Good to have you back after your break.
oh thank you so much! glad you like the puzzle! haha I had to change the title slightly, sorry, as it would have come across as catfish, im not leaving just not going to show myself anymore. hehehe
It was an awesome puzzle. Sorry it had 2 missing pieces. Also, thank you for link the puzzles I gave you as a gift. It was a nice puzzle. Anyways, keep up the good work. I did send you some pictures for the new puzzle room. I hope you enjoy it. It is still simple and I need wall decoration. But I’ll get there.
Thank you so much mate! Yes i still think the puzzles you sent have been very very special to me. I will be forever grateful! Hope the house is going well, again the images are stunning!
I absolutely have to sort and organize my pieces like you do! Some channels act like piece sorting by shape should be a last resort thing, but my brain needs order 😉 Glad to see I'm not the only one 😊
thank you so much 50s! nope, not leaving, just feel like im really wasting a ton of time trying to make talking head videos (not very good at it) so I'll focus on the puzzles!
Your cardboard isolation idea is brilliant! Also, I am the same way. I find sorting by shape the best way to go. It makes so much sense to approach puzzles this way. Most puzzlers seem to resort to that when there are large color blocks, but I do it with almost every section. 🙂
HI Liza, so nice to know you find the paper cut useful, it makes me very happy! thanks for the excellent feedback and for sharing your own sorting experiences!
What a cool puzzle. I will look for this puzzle even though I don't like the triangular boxes. But I really like HEYE puzzles. They make many wonderful motifs. I will still follow your channel, it's your choice whether you want to show or not and your videos are the best puzzle videos. I'm not into speed puzzling.
hi there!! Thats cool, indeed what a strange box isn't it? storing is a real issue heheh. Same here, the Heyes are really nice, I also love them! about the channel, yes as I mentioned in other comments here, I get so frustrated doing talking head videos, it's never the way I wanted and I find myself wasting hrs and hours with a video that should be only a few seconds long, so I will ditch that all together, may help me with my confidence.
There is a reason that many channels do mostly 500 piece puzzles. The big 2000 piece puzzles are much more difficult and take way more time. Congrats on finishing.
I’ve done that puzzle 5 years ago. I loved it. I found out after that, that there is a day version and a night version. I was never able to get a day version here in Canada, however I saw an image of it online. As far as storing the boxes, they store fine if you put 4 together like pie slices, because they then make a square.
@@RicPuzzles Hello again, I did a cursory search and I couldn’t find a second version of the Castle of Horrors. There is a Heye puzzle called Romantic Town, by Michael Ryba, and that one has a nighttime version.
@lock-kulla oh that’s very interesting! Thanks for v the insight, maybe it was some sort of limited edition? I had not seen a day version of this either 🤭👍🏻
Hi Ric, I love the puzzle. it's so vibrant and sexy! sorry to hear you don't feel comfortable being on camera here. I know your other works and love all of what you do, but you do what is best for you, I will continue to watch anyway, your videos are on another level. so funny you said 'relaxing BS', I giggled away.
I have this in my cupboard waiting it's turn, but also waiting until I get a bigger board. Watching your video I thought "hang on, there is no naked woman being taken up the stairs in mine" so after fetching it, I noticed they have very sensibly put the 2000 puzzle poster notification over that part, lol.
Will miss yours smiling ☺️ face but enjoy your content. I to enjoy shape sorting and place in trays , if you have 2 Haye puzzles on top of each other you can store them easily lol 😂
I really love the Heye artwork. I also pronounce it as "Hey", but a recent puzzle I acquired has "HEYEst Quality" written on the box. Now I'm second guessing that pronunciation.
Hej Ric 🙂 and a scary Halloween to you 🎃🎃🎃. We have several Heyes and I think we can concur with your observations regarding quality. And I agree that some of the cartoonists the brand features, draw pictures that squarely belong in the adult section. Something that has bothered me because when we began buying puzzles in hauls, we didn’t fully study the images before buying the things. Now I scan them with a loupe. The Heye you have, is especially unsettling, but even kinder themes have unsavoury bits here and there. Puzzles by Loup, Blachon, Ryba and Degano, all have in common amazing draftsmanship, ingenious design, and a touch of the misogynistic. Sometimes more than a touch and it ruins the effect. The first three artists are all death and it could be argued that they were men of their time, having been born in the 30’s and 40’s. Another time, when lack of respect for women passed for comedy. Excuse the rant. It just bugs me, although not enough to give them away. Art and its appreciation is complex and ignoring or erasing the record doesn’t help anyone. Anyway, you did well. Large puzzles are very challenging. We are working on another Heye as we speak; it’s called Trafalgar, has 2000 pcs, and we’re stumped. I’m sorry yours was missing pieces. It is always a bummer.
I own 2 x 2000 piece Heye puzzles by artists Doro Göbel and Peter Knorr called Super Hero Movie and Sherlock & Co (Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman modern day version). They are very fun to look at with so much detail. However, I do have an issue with them being in a triangular box because it makes them awkward to store.
Oh thats really cool! I just checked them out on google, look really fun indeed! Haha yeah the triangular box is a miss for me too, same as the bepuzzled puzzles, the boxes make it impossible to store 😂
hi! Thats great to hear! so my job has been accomplished hehe, they can very expensive outside Europe too, like here in NZ a new Heyes is easily 100 NZD + (50-60 USD) , but I wish you a great puzzling if you get them! Cheers
I will miss seeing your handsome face, but your comfort comes first. Do what you need to do for you. I will still enjoy your videos. In fact, I know a TH-camr who started without showing her face and she did that for some years and now has 172,000 subscribers, and now she has decided to start showing her face in Jan 2025. She had kept her face off for privacy for herself and because of her discomfort. But now, she says she feels more comfortable and wants to reveal her face for the Lives she does. Anyway, my point is everyone does what works best for them, so no worries at all. Thanks for letting us know the reason. That helps.
Thanks so much for the understanding and the great feedback! Fascinating story about this other TH-camr! I was considering doing livestreams too but show the puzzles from above then i realised yeah i am literally blocking up from all the good stuff because i just feel like my talking head intros are so cringe
@@RicPuzzles I don't think your intros are cringe at all - I think you are being too hard on yourself! I hope you go easier on yourself - and can enjoy the whole sharing puzzle experience on TH-cam.
It's a shame you are going to go 'faceless' from now on as you have a very friendly face and personality, but if you don't feel overly comfortable on screen then fair enough, but seriously, I think a lot of us will miss your visage.
Thanks Paisley! yeah mate sorry about that, I find that im way too uncomfortable doing talking head videos, I just find myself doing them over and over wasting really precious time I dont have! so much easier for me and more comfortable to do my normal narrations instead.
nope! hehe as pointed out, this is the last video you'll see my face. videos will be posted but now less me, more of the puzzles! :-) im just not comfortable doing talking heads, have to redo them hundreds of time which makes me waste precious time! :-)

What a lovely puzzle. You have to do what’s best for you, but I’m glad you aren’t leaving completely.
