- Lego Minifig sword and shield... for humans! There's something about taking a tiny prop and scaling up the size to fit in your hand. It's the best! Bill used wood and plastic to carve and sand a Lego Castle Knight's sword and shield.

Minifig coffee mug to go with that?
Is the website having some issues? Because whenever I click the link, it shows an error...
@@BrickLairwe were having some issues earlier but they should be resolved now, please try again! Thank you for letting us know you were having a problem!
@@punishedprops yup! now it works! :)
the link for the templates aren’t working for me :(
I for one would love to see more giant lego builds.
That's what we like to hear!
@@punishedprops me too! This turned out absolutely fantastic! Loved every second of the video!
@@punishedprops i would like to see bionicle life sized
Maybe when the decide to display the sword and shield they could make scale arms to attach to a wall and hold them both.
The original star wars sets from the 90s. You should make a lightsaber using that pvc and then use acrylic bars for the "blade"!
That would totally work!
Do it
@@punishedprops I would love to see a human-sized Lego lightsaber!
yeah, but how do you get that distinctive bubble in the lightsaber?
Lego boba Fett yesssssssssss please
*video takes 1 hour
Bill 4 minutes in: “We’re pretty much halfway done I think”
I’m a younger dude, so I grew up with Mars Mission, Power Miners, and Space Police. I honestly couldn’t pick a favorite out of the three, and don’t even get me started on non-LEGO branded themes like Star Wars, or Technic sets like Bionicle or Hero Factory...
The two dislikers are obviously playmobil people
One play Mobil, one megablocks
also some china knock-off fans
Kinda racist but ok !!,BTW i play LEGO
I had no intention on it being racist
I just forgot that the company's name was LEPIN
Lolll
loved the castle sets! surprised you didn't go for the knight's helmet as well... maybe later??
That would be a really fantastic build!
Costume idea for DragonCon: Life size Lego Bill
@@punishedprops woot! So excited!
Me to
Use a spray-on sanding sealer on the bare wood, then sand the wood smooth before primer to help get rid of the wood grain.
This. I usually do several coats of spray shellac on bare wood before primer.
That sword fit...my god. Amazing!
It was extremely satisfying. The whole build was. I was giggling a LOT. =)
Throw a bit of salt down it will help to stop big glue areas from sliding.
That is a really fantastic idea! Thanks for sharing. =D
Evan and Katelyn tried this and the salt particles were too big for a tight glue seal. Even at finely ground size. :/
@@Aviator_MD Hope you can share your expertise with Evan and Katelyn, then! :D

Vlad The Inhaler? lmfao seriously you guys kill me lol
Pretty great, right?!
@@punishedprops For real, had me laughing real good. Can only imagine how hard you guys laughed when you said it first. Also making bubbles should require that sound, second thing that had me pissing my self
totally putting that on my shop vac when I get home!
Hahaha! So funny! XD
dont forget tje bandsaw "jabba the cut"
CLASSIC SPACE! Who's with me??
Benny the spaceman with his retro space helet! "Can I build a spaceship!?"
I'm with you! As a kid I got hold of every LEGO Space kit I could find. I eventually took over the garden shed and built a giant paper mâché and plaster moonscape with them all setup. I miss being a kid.
Yeah!
One of my favorite sets was the airplane with the spaceshuttle mounted on it.
I remembered wanting it when I saw it as a kid, my mom actually bought it and hid it away. She hid it so well in fact that she forgot she bought it until she found it during some boxing when we moved out our current house, eventually got for my 18th Birthday.
Had to wait 10~ years for it, but well worth the wait x]
Weathering hides crimes. Good to know. NOW to start my crime spree! bwahahahahahaha.
WOW didn't expect to find you here.
@@tiesvandenberg4751 Are you the Senat?
I weathered a corpse, now the police is tailing me, you liar
I’m gonna need a L O T of weathering...
This is fabulous! I definitely vote for more projects that make 7 year old Bill happy!
My favorite classic Lego series? Bionicle generation one. I will never forget such a legendary series. It was a major part of my childhood, and to this day, I will never let it go.
I miss the RES-Q sets from the 90's! Those sets had cool box art with the bad weather and everything
Yeah! The hovercraft was so dope!
The big scene with the broken bridge they did for the catalogue was so cool!!!
Bill, You need to make a Lego pirate sword next.
dont forget the Lego katana
What a fun build. Makes me want to do some turning!
Thanks Eric! It was super fun to dust off the old lathe again. =D
@@punishedprops Should've worn the "I sand, I die, I sand again" shirt for this project :P
I clicked on the video because of the concept, not noticing the timestamp, and before I knew it I had watched the whole 50 minutes. Great work!
Thank you!
Having a couple proper woodworking tools makes working with wood so much easier. A good vertical belt sander would have those bevels ez pz to handle.
Source: Have made tons of wooden weapons growing up
Blacktron was always the best Lego sets! This build is amazing!
Soooooooo good. I always wanted the Lego sword when I was a kid. I remember finding a really simplistic sword at the Dollar tree when I was young that was pretty close, but gold in color. I had that thing into my 20s.
I've always been a fan of swords. Toy or otherwise. =)
Love Classic LEGO Space.
Favorite set? That's easy! SPAAAACE!

"Wewd"
Remind you guys of anyone?
l e w d
Reminds me on Bobby Duke Arts
Yes
I had the Ghost Castle and the Dragon Castle!! I like this build soooooooo much!!!
There was a one about aliens and secret agents. The sets were intricate, and that's why I liked them.
Great build guys, love it! My favorite classic lego was the 1986 Cosmic Fleet Voyager!!!
YES! Spaceship!!
Ice Planet 2002 were my favourite sets, other than the City and Technic stuff from the 80's/90's
Ok now kids, repeat after me... A blade is not a pry tool! ;)
I'm loving the longer tutorial format! Thanks for all the videos and all the knowledge!!
You're ever so welcome!
You know what brings me back? BIONICLE! Lego's first original and complex storyline.
Also, looks like something you'd see at LEGOLAND.
I'm not sure how they compare in size to the spheres you made for the hilt, but racquetballs could be a fill in for those without access to a lathe perhaps.
We thought about trying to get a found object to use, but sometimes you need to compare the time it would take shopping around for the right piece vs the time it would take to just make it from scratch. In this case we went with a scratch built piece, but yeah it's super worth checking if you have something on hand that would work.
Your seams look pretty tight but it's a good note to hold everything tight for 30 sec or so. The sockets on PVC fittings are tapered and will tend to push out the pipe till the cement is set.
And yes the active ingredient in PVC glue is MEK which is pretty nasty and absorbable through the skin. You will also get some off gassing when you work PVC, so that smell you get when turning/ cutting/ drilling, it is not "great" to breath but not that bad if you have any decent ventilation.
I like your tool names!
Table saw is a better bevel choice, though you still need a bunch of hand cleanup, but it would get you 90% there.
Nice build!
As the son of a plumber, that's a good catch.
I loved the old space sets, so maybe a Lego space helmet, or Lego ray gun would be cool!
Definitely going to show my age here, but my favorite set as a kid was the Space Police (2) set. The best one from that series was the Galactic Mediator (Set 6984) which I still have. Love it.
Barinthos ooh I remember the space police theme. I loved the cruiser
Cool
You think XD
@@yee8777 lol? What?
Also, that Vac has a cool name :-)
HAHAA! Well played Chad, well played. =)
The Space Monorail! best christmas/birthday ever!
Awesome project! I love big lego stuff
I used to love and still do the Lego police range I even made a comic with them when I was about 9
That's so wonderful!
Punished Props Academy I’m going to try and find that comic
I took me 17 min to realize this was 50 min long
Thanks for listing all the material/stuff you used, and providing links to them ... very educational and extremely helpful. Thanks again!
My personal favourite line was bionicle. The reeboot was decent as well.
Ahh a fellow man of culture. Imo reboot had great sets but a godawful watered down version of the story, unfortunately.
Yeah, i agree with you there. The set designs were awesome, but the story sucked. Plus, wave 1 didn't really feature our beloved techno-organic look.
I WANT A LEGO BILL!!!!!!!!
oirginal technic sets
They were so good, right?!
I second that.
@@punishedprops Very much! Anything that had gears and wheels was always fun
3:45 Bionicle was my *jam*
Space were my favorite lego sets, always. When they started putting out the Blacktron sets, those guys became the leaders of ALL my other guys because they were so cool.
i gotta say lego power miners will always be my favorite lego series
Ive pieced it together, we never see their house, not because they only film in the shop, but because bill's lego collection takes up all the room possible, with just enough space for a bed and a walkway to it
LEGO was a rare commodity in my house, it wasn't easily available where I lived in the 70s. The only set I had was a generic one for building loads of different vehicles and simple buildings (it's set #911 if you want to look it up) while my sister had one for building a domestic home with tall people and cool little furniture and fittings pieces to make houses and shops, which was set #232. They were great generically themed sets, not too restrictive, encouraging years of creativity throughout my childhood and teen years too.
Ooooh man, that *THUNK* when the tang slipped into the handle :O
The castles \o/ definitly my favourite too!!
That opening was great
Glad you liked it!
I always loved the LEGO space stuff and the skeletons
You should also do a matching dragon
Knights variant
Cool build. My favorite is the Pirate and Star Wars sets.
13:07 - Down Draft Tables, or, Anti-Air Hockey Tables.
Also, poplar was a good choice for wood. It's harder than soft woods like spruce, fir or pine, and is relatively clear / free of knots. It also takes paint well.
I loved every minute of this. Thanks, Ben
Cool build. Please don’t poke your eye out. Keep up the good work! So much fun
I absolutely LOVED the original LEGO technic sets, and I still have the ones I got all those years ago
Honestly, I'd love to see videos on the old Bionicles weapons. Those were always so awesome looking!
the intros are always so wholesome
Amazing. LEGO Knights defines my childhood. Thanks for the awesome content!
You’re welcome!
One of my favorite makers... and one of my favorite toys (and my favorite themes within LEGO is Classic Castle). Awesome build Bill.
Awesome job Bill! I want to try this for my nephew
there are no words to explain how much I love this build!
Wow what good job love that. Shield so fantastic.
Great job
Awesome!
Classic lego space is my favourite.
I know I'm old fashion
Cool good job
My favorite Lego sets are the
mid-2000s Bionicle sets!
Right on!
I would love to make those!! Lego Kingdoms FTW!!!
Please now make the wearable Knight helmet and armor from lego!
PS: this brought me so many good memories!
Vlad the inhaler. Jabba the cutt. Amazing 😂
Great video and awesome job on those Props!!
That compass edge trick is soooo amazing.....well to me, thank you....no more precarious ruler balancing on the edges.....you guys are great...thank you
Happy to help!
i loved the space sets
Definitely worth a subscribe
Wow....that chisel montage was f'n BEAUTIFUL 😻
Also, I love ALL Lego sets. It's one of my relaxing activities.
28:24 F1 cars only have one nut per tire. Just being picky here. The prop, as always, perfect!!
Star wars lego sets 110% are my favorite. Nothing beats lego star wars gets.
It's glorious!
The realization at 26:50 that Bill has when his plan comes together. :) So good! My favorites where the Robin Hood series and now the star wars sets.
This is just so cool
These. Are. So. AWESOME!!!!!
This was absolutely magical!
Excellent!
Did Bill just say he’s going to take his time on something when sanding off the text and bump on the PVC? You are growing as a maker. Good for you! Such a fun build.
I hit the like button during the intro.
the whole time you were working on the wood bevels, i was thinking "he should use a plane". then comes the noisy cricket... i almost fell back on my chair laughing!!!!! thank you for the laugh!
Favorite Lego sets back in the day were Rock Raiders :) Had an awesome PC game too.
Nothing beats some good old lego
as a child of the early 2000s, lego star wars was a jam, and a bit later, I certainly enjoyed the lego lotr/hobbit stuff
I would watch this again just to see the tiny block plane again! Love it!
Isn't it adorable, Pat?! =D
It looks amazing and I am so glad that you enjoy what you do
Thank you so much!
Awesome build. The space ship Lego set was one of my favorite sets. It was a large ship that broke away it 3 smaller ships. I haven't thought about it in over 3 decades.
awsome episode.. i feel very inspired for my next project
Fantastic!
Oh man, I absolutely love these... Though I wish the shield had a more classic design, like the original Lion Knights crest or the Black Falcon one. Those were pretty iconic.
My first Lego series that I started collecting when I was young, was Knights Kingdom!
