Tesla is building a robotaxi, but there's a hidden cost

- Tesla (TSLA) will report its latest quarterly report on Tuesday, July 23 after the closing bell with investors patiently awaiting any news on its robotaxi product. The adoption of the technology has been slow so far but could be a disrupter in the auto space.
Canaccord Genuity managing director George Gianarikas joins Market Domination to give insight into Tesla's upcoming earnings report and self-driving car adoption across the US.
On the progress of robotaxi rollout, both with Tesla and other companies offering the service, Gianarikas states: "The problem with that particular service is that it's really, really expensive to build the vehicle. Right? The Tesla vehicles have an advantage because, according to Elon Musk, they only have cameras and the computer. But the hidden cost--and we recently put a note about out about this-- is that the difference in approaches is that Elon Musk is building a massive data center infrastructure to support that... and he's disclosed that it's cost cumulatively well over $10 billion to build that."

Tesla stock dipped severally , resulting to about 23% drop in the shares value this month. I seriously need suggestions on how to diversify my $400k portfolio made up of volatile TSLA.

So.. all this means what? The stock continues down on earnings or are the good points good enough to have it bump up some or have we already factored in iffy earnings and that is part of the downtrend last week?
George G. conflates Rob O’Taxi with car ownership: FSD for personal cars has a zero correlation with taxis. Eventss are separate - “discrete” in statistical terms.

Some people think its the EPA mandate and not the IRA. EPA mandate could be easily rolled back. You would need a red sweep to roll back the IRA tax credits.

@@markplott4820 there are two videos from the past month where a Tesla drove full speed at a train. Also Tesla tells you you must sit in the driver's seat with your hands on the wheel, and pay attention.

@@markplott4820 Tesla FSD does not have an unsupervised mode. There are no versions of FSD where Tesla does not require you to be in the driver's seat, with hands on the wheel, paying attention. Tesla always previews the next two updates(using employees), and even their next two updates are not unsupervised. And again, your insurance policy is not going to cover you if you are using FSD unsupervised.

I had a CyberTruck almost run me over the other day. I was wondering if the driver was using the AI to drive, or was staring at the big screen and not noticing pedestrians.
CT has no AI, no FSD. Human drivers are… well, human.

Ya tsla is going down. Stop speculating about if or when robotaxi comes out. Interest rates are not going down to the level they were pre covid any time soon. Sure they'll come down but not significantly. The 7500 incentive will push people away from tsla and get a better looking car.
