@@heather7774_ I also contend that bluegrass and heavy metal may be the same thing. Both genres have a tendency to play fast tempos, so if you just added distortion to the banjo.... 🤔🤣
I’d say the bluegrass feels more organic. It invokes the sense of country and just the good life. Metal feels in my view artificial in that it’s pulling out a darker tone from people. I ain’t saying there is no good examples of a metal song. Just that bluegrass in my view has more positive elements to it.
Come down from the Scotch Irish, transformed by the hills and hollows of Appalatia. A bright, playful harmony that stays true to the tune. Better than a cup of coffee (almost) in the morning.
These scenes , the music wake up something good within my old 85 yr old body or is it my house, that an old guy told me once upon a time . I was sorta young and sometimes did not speak things right and was reminded about it sometimes . Several people were around, and I think the older people that went before us are DUE all the respect and honor for all the stuff they went thru paving an easier path or road for us younger folk . The wise OLD man spoke slowly and was very sure of what he said . " My daddy read the Bible to us kids and always Thanked God for all the Blessings , especially our food . The old guy continued on --- I think I saw tears forming in his old eyes -- maybe he remembered his daddy and mother for he said the Good Book says you must always love and honor your parents and remember that and God will give you will get more good days and a long life upon this earth ! " He looked at me and said " Son, be sure to say it all and get it right and don't be bashful about it ! " We all still have the long ago past somewhere in our old minds and ought to heed the old guy's advice for just look at the young people today and hope they will somehow hear and heed the old guy's teaching ! I would like to add that a life that does not know to walk with God is useless no matter the money or fame they have gotten !
I'll never forget as a teenager from North Florida going to the hills of North Georgia near Hiawassee to college about 45 years ago. Going to the Georgia mountain Fair and finding a building in the back where families were gathered and getting on stage and playing the backwoods bluegrass music. Every night I was down there sitting in a chair and listening thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Had a chance to live in the Northeast corner of Georgia Raven county for 20 years since then. Had to move back to North Florida just prior to my wife getting sick. I miss the mountains! But at least I can still listen to the music!!
As someone who was raised in Appalachia and now lives in the city, this video is both comforting and a little sad. Bittersweet would be the word I guess. I have a good job that provides well for my family, but I really long for those days in the country. I think it's a constant battle. People in the hills of West Virginia want to escape poverty and isolation, and people in the city want to escape the rat race. I go back every chance I get to remind my children of what our roots are. I was the first person in my family since coming to Appalachia in the 1700s to go to college. My ancestors worked hard so that generations down the line could live a more comfortable life and not toil on the land like they did. But the dichotomy is how we wish to be back to some of those simpler ways of life. I guess I can say I'm grateful I can afford to experience both when I want to. Mountaineers are always free.
Australia, just love bluegrass music! Live in Sydney, come from the bush, as Aussie's call country. Was necessary to move for income; EVERY day, still think of the farm after leaving.... 45 years ago!
Western VA native living in a college city in the Midwest now. The homesickness is strong, but I keep holding onto hope that I'll get to return to my mountains someday
Wow! Just when I thought the Appalachian Mountains couldn't get any more breathtaking, this video proved me wrong! The fusion of bluegrass banjo and fiddle music with those stunning vistas is a match made in heaven. 🎻💙 Has anyone else been inspired to plan a trip here after watching this video?
I've lived and worked in 10 states spread all over the US and I've seen all 50 states, so I know what's out there. After such a rootless existence I can say that Appalachia is the most beautiful part of the country. Some would disagree and claim that California has it all. To those people I'd quote an ancient Latin proverb: de gustibus non disputandem est, which means in matters of taste there can be no dispute.
The banjo has a very beautiful sound and what festive music with the country Air. Here in Brazil I live in a city in the interior, seeing these landscapes there is a blessed calm. God bless you and gratitude for your beautiful videos. 😃💛🇧🇷🌷🌲👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I love a blast of bluegrass, got to visit Richmond Virginia 16 years ago and headed to the hill for live bluegrass music what a treat 👌 😀 ❤all the ways from Ireland 🇮🇪 ❤💚🙏🙏🙏🙏☘☘☘☘☘☘☘☘
If you ever come back to Virginia, southern Virginia is much better. Floyd area. Highland Country, southern half really. Northern Virginia is much different unfortunately.
When you're pickin I'm grinnin! Great Mix! Really helps me move and get some work done. Off grid and lots of old school stuff to do so, thanks agin for gettin me movin.

Beautiful music and visuals. I live in Florida now and do like it but I still get homesick for the Hills, Hollers and the rivers. Love the colors of fall in the mountains.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful music and video. This is so refreshing to see such beautify landscapes. It's like taking a trip with out leaving the concrete jungle of Florida. Thank you!
Enjoyed this. As a banjo and fiddle player, I'd appreciate if you could just subtitle the song name as it plays, or list in the comments! Bluegrass makes this visual display shine.

As someone who primarily is a metalhead, there is something that is soothing about instrumental bluegrass.
🎉was thinking 💭 the same thing ❤
