I want to thank you so much. I had problems lately with the handbrake. Didn't worked all times and this was , of course, big problem. Couldn't risk parking my car only with gear. Cleaned the board and in less than 10 minutes problem is gone thanks to your video. I really appreciate!!!
I just tried this and it worked. I had a warning triangle with a P in it. A red circle that looked like brake shoes and an orange rectangular service light, the handbrake was working but had a Warning coming up saying it wasn’t.I followed these steps, took the switch out, sprayed the micro switches with contact cleaner, reassembled and operated the levers a few times, reinstalled, operated the handbrake manually by the levers and lights have gone out, also works perfectly in auto mode. Before trying this I had put the car on a diagnostics computer, it said fault with BRAKE CONTACT 2, I take it this must have been one of the micro switches. I thought it was a problem with the brakes pads or something on the calipers.
My parking break works, I can lock or unlock it, but I've had a message parking break check and then parking break failure (I'm french so I'm not sure it's the right term) but the engine won't start. Is it a security that prevents it ? Could I just disconnect the parking break device in order to go to the car repair shop ?
Great video - I have done this previously and it worked a treat, the warning disappeared from the dash also. This time around, the warning light stays on, even through the handbrake works. Do you have any ideas how to clear this warning light without taking it to a garage. Thanks.

So, what about if the button (handbrake ) with the led light is stuck and the led light on it is not working and have a parking brake fault message? What could be the problem and the solution?

Good day, after fixing the brake switch issue do we have 2 flash the error so it stops displaying on the screen?

my handbrake from scenic work perfect but appear error like pb fault or check p b ... why ? because is working fine ???
you have to make a diagnose to the car to see the problem and erase it.

@@romangaleev5150 sure. I drive with parking break error all the time and leave it on first shift gear while parked.
Mine is working but the light (red) is not and i have check parking brake message. Could it be that switch for light is not working?
