Thank you, made job a lot easier. However all my bolts snapped or corroded. Couldn’t remove cover that’s when I realised you don’t have to, I easily replaced both cables without removing cover. (Possibly would be able to do it on the car) Still thank you, as this video gave me the confidence to tackle the job.
Hi you seem to now your onions don’t suppose you know how to set clock I have Laguna 3 coupe with satnav it’s driving me insane great video keep them coming
Hi mate could i just ask , i have a laguna 3 , but the only problem is the EPB won't engage at all and i get message "CHECK PARKING BRAKE" on dash panel and "APPLY PARKING BRAKE" when i open the driver door
@CoatsandGaiters thanks for the reply I get these error code DTC517577 DTC516F68 ------------- Emergency UNLOCK on EPB module i think ! DTC516868 DTC50CB14 After clearing I get a red error code DTC516F68 emergency release
What was the issue with the NHS wheel not rotating, just the Handbrake seized on? I’ve not got a Renault but I do have a RRS with one and I know it’s a module that fails, so I look forward to that job… it’s been ok for the last 9 years…
The piston had just stuck. On winding back in it was ok but it's normally a warning that the rubber boot has perished and corrosion has started. New caliper on the horizon. My electric parking brake on my Laguna has been used zillions of times and the car is now at 175,000 miles and not a bit of trouble. Was quite surprised it's lasted like it has.
When you unclip the cable from the caliper does it just pull through or was any force required? I’ve unhooked the cable on my caliper but that cable won’t move at all?
You may want to take a look at this recent video of mine to see what's happening. Galvanic corrosion. It should just pull out but mine have corroded solid on my other Laguna. th-cam.com/video/kFFBZ6RP0dk/w-d-xo.html
*Mark, what make and model is this Renault laguna mk3 ? , I was fixing my neighbours mk3 hatchback 2011 model 1.5 dci but that had 2 brake boxes one for each side of the rear wheels* 😐
Very good job, nice description 👌🙂 There is MUCH EASIER WAY TO REMOVE AND FIT cables: REMOVINNG: th-cam.com/video/OTLeOcs27pY/w-d-xo.html FITTING: th-cam.com/video/ve5g9ekFHMQ/w-d-xo.html but you have to have correct cables as a OEM (some of them have different left cable head shield - this white plastic) it need to be exactly the same one as Coats and Gaiters used in this video

thanks you so much ! with your help i was able to repair my broken cable for 50€ (france) instead of 975€ at the dealership.
Brilliant news that's great to hear.
Well documented as usual
Bravo 👏🏻
Thank you Aftab

Arrr interesting to know that. Mine are due on my Laguna. Think one cable has stretched.
*I didn't know about that "hand brake tool" I kept using my grandad's NHS walking stick 😁🍻*
Haha...there's always a tool for everything I find lol They know us men love to buy tools if we can.
*That is brilliant mate !! 👍*
Thank you Terry
Great job!
Thank you
Excellent job very thorough. Thanks
Thank you for the compliment

I think mine is just two buttons by the side but I don't have the Tom Tom model.
thanks for the video! my mechanic wont touch this can of worms so i have to do it myself 😂
In fairness to Renault I have one on my 2007 Laguna and its done 182k with the same handbrake module and cables.
@@CoatsandGaiters My 2005 Laguna with 250 kkm still has the original module and cables as well :).
@@Jezusbeznogi we have had many Lagunas over the years and have found them to be ultra reliable.
@@CoatsandGaiters Yes, contrary to popular belief they are good cars and quite easy to fix when something does break down :)

Has one of the cables snapped? the relay can also fail on the board.
@CoatsandGaiters thanks for the reply

"Well done for the setup". Thank you Boban
Hi great video and description can i ask what model diagnostic tool is it your useing....thanks
I've recently upgraded to the Launch X431 CRP919EBT
Bravo
I paid a dealer 900 for the labor for this. I hope you think it was worth it. Great content
Thank you
It’s showing the battery voltage at 11.96 v so a flat battery will set a multitude of codes.
Well spotted Malcolm, it’s probably that that’s triggered so many codes like you say.
*Can I just ask were did you buy the cables from ?*
Off eBay try searching "RENAULT LAGUNA 3 MK3 2007-2015 Electric Handbrake Parking Cable LEFT + RIGHT x 2" Terry
@@CoatsandGaiters OK thanks 👍
It’s quite surprising that you can easily open the box. Mine was stuck and it’s impossible to open the cover.
That's not good then. They want you to replace it all I guess.

Do you know where I can get cables for a Peugeot 508 module one side is broke on mine. Ttks .. great job ...
I tend to buy all my car parts off eBay as prices are competitive and everything seems to be on there.
So if the emergency release is pulled, the wires have to be taken off the caliper to re-set it? Is that why one of my wires snapped?
I think you may need to remove from the calliper but the darn aluminium ferrule gets stuck with corrosion I found.
When you unclip the cable from the caliper does it just pull through or was any force required? I’ve unhooked the cable on my caliper but that cable won’t move at all?

I just know its a Mk 3, its the same module as on the Mk 2 Laguna. Wonder if the 1.5dci has the motors on each caliper that wind in.
@@CoatsandGaiters yes I believe it does

EPB that means Electric Parking Brake . Was there right on the top .
I always miss the obvious

I believe it might be.
