    Most of the reviewers fault the S9 for not having mid and flagship specs. They forgot it was an entry-level full-frame camera. For me, they removed the necessary features. If they removed IBIS, open gate, moved to 8-bit then I would be furious because there are no workaround for those. EVF, grip, hotshoe, recording limit... those are all useless in talking head video which most youtubers do. They mount it somewhere facing them (you dont need EVF and grip then), then they use studio lights (you dont need a hotshoe then), they use external hdmi to record (you can bypass the recording limit then).

      Yes I feel this is the point I was getting at. Previously owning a ZV-E10 taught me that alot of the hybrid features of the Lumix S5ii are really nice to have, but I could get almost the same results with a different body as long as I had the same senor and output.

      Where‘s the benefit in this TH-camr usecase provided by the S9?

    You're gonna be a great YT creator, for sure. Well put together, well spoken, video is crispy, presented well. Good luck on all your projects. On a sidenote, S5ii owner and user also, been in the Lumix game since GH4 -> GH5 -> GH6 -> and now the S5ii. For me, having that S9...light / small / compact, is my goal. The little brother to its big brother. Casual. Quick.

    The thing that's missing is it's $300 less without a lens and the same price as s5ii with kit lens. Pricing makes no sense and this analysis of it being a gateway into the ecosystem would make sense if it was $1000. Shit even $1200. It was meant to compete with fuji x100v that's all it is. It was their attempt at trying to combat fujis inability to keep cameras in stock and enticing consumers with a full frame. For content creators this might be a cool camera but for everyone else it's not.

    • @CartyMadeThis
      @CartyMadeThis  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I hear what you're saying, but that is exactly who they made this camera for: Content Creators. The kit lens (20-60mm f/3.5) is a wonderful option that's around $250 on the used market. And then you have the i-Series primes from sigma which are compact and affordable at around $400 used. I agree it isn't the most affordable full frame camera, but the x100 is super35 not full frame and you can't switch the lenses.

    This is a great entry level camera for entry and casual shooters. It comes packed with interesting features LUT and 6k Open gate. It is also suitable for short form video creations. If you want t shoot high resolution for longer form videos, then this is not for you. So it is perfect for people making high quality shorts or videos less than 15mins long. Couple this with Panasonic's latest 28-200mm lens, then you have yourself a well rounded camera.

    Sub'd! Great video! I completely agree... and how do you only have 282 subscribers lol. We need more short and to-the-point content like this. I've mostly stayed in the APS-C and MFT space, because I want my setup as small and light as possible for traveling, but the S9 has seriously got me thinking... maybe... MAYBE, I could stuff the S9 and a small prime lens into my 1.6L Alpaca sling (which I did with my GX85 and took it around South America recently)

    • @CartyMadeThis
      @CartyMadeThis  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I see nothing wrong with MFT or s35. Some of the best cameras available are on those systems. As a working professional, FF gives me more flexibility, but it's nothing I couldn't already achieve on my smaller cameras. Sounds like you need the zve10ii or maybe the g9ii!

    The genius move would have been to keep the EVF and make it more like the Canon R8. That is the best budget full frame camera on the market right now and it's cheaper with better specs...

    • @CartyMadeThis
      @CartyMadeThis  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I mean for that kind of camera, just buy the original lumix s5. This camera is meant to appeal to users who don't need an EVF.

    • @quintessentialgrooming5285
      @quintessentialgrooming5285 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @CartyMadeThis It's touted as an entry level short form creators camera and a compact full frame travel camera. Having an EVF would make it ideal for the latter. If it had an EVF, and pop up flash, I'd buy it with a 35mm and 50mm prime and take it everywhere.
