Hi, I've just started to paint warhammer models again, after a very long time out, to hopefully help me with my mental situation. According to my doctor I have PTSD from my time in the armed forces. So, I am going to paint to relax, she seems to think this will help me. I may later actually play the game of 40k, but at the moment I am just going to paint. I like the Tyranids and watched your video on making two Winged/Hive Tyrant/Stormlord type models from the one box with the addition of another torso/hip thingy piece (unfortunately I cannot get yours as outside of the US) which I have ordered through eBay now. I just have one question (for anybody that may be able to help). What load out would you give each type of model, taking into account the latest June '24 Dataslate update? I have no idea at all here as to what would be my best option. I would possibly use the Vanguard detachment as that seems fun to me if I was going to play, but, I would try any detachment. So, what would be my best options for load-outs on these models? Thank you anybody that can help me. p.s. Love the videos that you put out. These are what have made me choose Tyranids really. Your enthusiasm for these models is unparalleled. Thank you.

My friend plays Tyranids, so I can tell him about this combo, haha. Also, do you think Zoanthropes getting "big guns never tire" with a nuerotyrant will get changed? Or is it by design, you think?
I always use them it allows you to actually use your hive tyrant as a beat stick, and support for front line without losing him to stray melta or lazcannons.
I've been trying to find a good swarm invasion fleet list, as unending now isn't as efficient as the invasion fleet detachment for swarm after this recent nerf.
These are cool lists, and i m having a lot of fun thinking about building my own. Can´t wait for the next Tyranid games and see how they feel for myself. Question: If you put a Neuroloid on a Screamer, and he stands 3 inch infront of a unit to yall at them, do they get -2 to their battleshock test now? Because the Tyrants ability says "they are concidered to be within Synapse" that is different from emitting it. Or would the Screamer Killer itself now be concidered a Synapse unit, and all friendlies around 6 are therefore within Synapse too?
@@Dewoy1 If the screamer killer has a neuroloid and is within 6 inches of an enemy unit and you call shadow in the warp, that unit is at -1. Subsequent tests from shots from the screamer's ranged attack ability during that turn wouldn't be -2, as it's -1 per the ability and the -1 from being in synapse (neuroloid) only applies to shadow in the warp tests.
@@specialmeats Cool, yeah i know about the scream couldn´t be -2 unless Deathleaper is near by, but i m not sure if the Neuroloid Synapse would actually apply here. Since a Screamer wouldn´t have a 6 inch Synapse aura around him to buff friendly units, why would it suddenly be an aura for the shadow. Since the Neuroloid ability doesn´t say, "this units is concidered to be a Synapse units" instread is says "concidered to be within Synapse". Idk i might be off here, but it is very importent to know that, since it will deffinitely come up.

Why not have the neurotyrant have the parasitic enhancement with 6 tyrant guard with crusher claws? They'll hit on 3s, and become strength 10 with synapse and the enhancement with twin link.
Ironically I have the most success with crusher stampede since the update. I played 25 games so far with these rules. So far my most notable findings are: - hive tyrant still is never worth its 235pts. As expected without points drops some cp, lethal hits for models that already have good shooting anyway, or assault which has so much less value now are not enough justifying the include on such a easy to kill model when you can include one and a half other monsters instead that are both tougher and have better damage output. -neurotyrant is still a model you can take, and is very usefull now giving synaps to two units of your choice. But including zoans for 305 point anti tank unit with often jus a single activation and only turn 2 often because of low range and slow speed honestly still doesnt feel good. Zoans need a points drop to be considered good. -generally winged primes are by far the best mission pieces, 130 pts for 2, replacing bios and rippers able to deepstrike in and easily score the 5 missions that want you to be in the opoonents deployment zone, and have enough movement to stay useful.. -tyrannofex is simply still overcosted, often does nothing and makes you sad. - detachments Synaptic nexus basically offers no benefit, beeing the worst in my opinion. Swarm, at least with my style I had no more sucess now, even with S4 hormagaunts, only 1 revive instead of ~3 deeply hurts.tervigon are still not paying for themself. - Assimilation is actually funny, healing your 2 norn emissarys back up to be unkillable -vanguard is very cool, wiged primes scoring turn 1 for a huge lead, reveners are cute, trygon not really worth, but you can do it. -invasion fleet simply is unbeatable providing the best damage buffs -now crusherstampede I won 7/8 games. And I run PURE monster, and its not even a meme. The best list is overwhelm them with all good to okayish datasheets we have for the cost now. -3 maleceptors -3 haruspex -3 exocrine -3 screamer killer -1 trygon for mission and scoring VERY easily in Enemy DZ -1 winged prime (because you need a character) and he gives synaps to trygon to have S10 -1pyro to hold you home objective. The strategy is to simply go. Put maleceptors with haruspexes and screamer killers everywhere, most opponents simply cant deal with it. And while damage output is still shit, enough of it does work. Alternitavely you can cut a exocrine and haruspex for a norn emissary to really just live on a point, or even use two and skip the trygons. But so far, more models is just better. Crusher stampede ist good because moving through walls is actually SO INSANELY useful when you have a bunch of chunky Boys and allows you to Charge things you otherwise could Not. And surviving with Low wounds actually Happens quite often now. +1 to hit is easily achieved with forced explosions and +1 to wound can Happen. roar can be devastaring. And, to me at least it finally feels fun to play my bugs again
I love it, quantity indeed has a quality of its own. But your list above is 2020 points. Why do you survive with low wounds often now, what has changed? And I don't understand why +1 to hit is easily achieved with 'forced explosions'? You can't hurt friendly models with Deadly Demise.
@@vaettra1589 ah yes sorry, the list was 3 screamer Killer and only 1 trygon. What changed is that there are way fewer Units in the game now that can outright oneshot T11 Models, as Well as the strategy. When you have 13 big monsters they will have to get in as much damage as possible per round to not get overrun, so your Models surviving is really likely. And yes ofcourse, the strategem to autoexplode does ofcourse hurt your own Guys. So when they kill your First screamer Killer next to a haruspex and maleceptor, you make it autoexplode and your Haruspex and maleceptor Hit on 2s.
@@leSmokySmoke Oh, nids are back to friendly fire by exploding? I didn't realize it was changed from 9th ed. Fair enough. I'll give your list a go, love the big boys!
@@leSmokySmoke Forgot to reply, yeah I missed that friendly fire is back again for nids, a case of 'editionitis' for me, sorry. Have you had any tournament games?
Honestly yes. I like taking the Emissary to friendly games because I painted a cool model I want to use it but they're 275 points, which is a unit of melee warriors+ prime and a Lictor, or it a maleceptor with 2 less wounds and no fnp but it's a 105 points cheaper etc.
You know what 10 gargoyles do? Have 20 OC, move block, do actions, are battleline for all battleline related shenanigans. And you can have 30 of them for 255 leaving you 20 extra points for a nifty enhancement.
Who said you can have both? And gargs are super vunerable to any firepower and overwatch things that Norn can soak… anyways you do you but everygame I play Norn is always my top performer I play on WTC terrain where its not easy to draw line of sight maybe thats why but its amazing for me
@@danydaigle5032 I'll be honest, I just play at my local game store, never anything super competitive. My experience is exactly as you said, it's easy to draw line of site and in my experience, and being T11 instead of 12 is what holds it back for me because everyone at my LGS brings several T12 or higher weapons and often times will take it out with like 2-3 units. I love the model just wish it had more beef on its toughness
from a competitive point of view, I really don't understand people who like these changes... this is literally the WORST that could happen to the faction. we went from a very solid, albeit tricky to pilot anti-meta (stat checking) unending swarm list that was *really good* in the right hands to... A bunch of bigger monsters (which play in the weapon profiles people currently bring to beat other lists) that have pillow punches... y'all going to get tabled so fast now... yet some are happy about?
Would love to see some smaller points lists! Starting an escalation league soon

This is my assimilation swarm!
Maybe take out a lictor for 10 gaunts
Sit on your home obj
what is the gun that the Tyrannofex runs for the Assimilation Swarm list?
Rupture Cannon!
What is your Discount Code?
For Into the AM? MGS10
Not that many exocrenes? Neuro did wonders for zoanthropes
Still a newbie here :) what do you mean with doing actions?
If you watch my latest video about Pariah Nexus it explains it. It's essentially something units need to do to score points.
When I add up everything it makes 2075 points instead of 2k, what should I get rid of to make it 2k?
Which list are you talking about. I'm guessing I accidentally put in one too many squads of raveners.
@@maelstromgamingstudios5240 the assimilation list
Wouldn’t two carnifexs with deathspitters be only 24 shots not 48?
Yes! Devourers give you the 48
Thank you for my new opinion
thx for that video ! hope that you cooking the same with 1000pts 🙏
Wait so spore mines count as a harvester unit MG?
No? If you are talking about using reclaim biomass on them, it's any unit. They just need to be near a Haverster unit
@@maelstromgamingstudios5240 oh all good, thanks 🙏
Why not exocrines in invasion fleet ?
You totally can! I just didn't want to say, x2 exocrines in every list (which is very good).
Ironically I have the most success with crusher stampede since the update.
I played 25 games so far with these rules.
So far my most notable findings are:
- hive tyrant still is never worth its 235pts.
- detachments
Synaptic nexus basically offers no benefit, beeing the worst in my opinion.
Swarm, at least with my style I had no more sucess now, even with S4 hormagaunts, only 1 revive instead of ~3 deeply hurts.tervigon are still not paying for themself.
- Assimilation is actually funny, healing your 2 norn emissarys back up to be unkillable
-vanguard is very cool, wiged primes scoring turn 1 for a huge lead, reveners are cute, trygon not really worth, but you can do it.
-invasion fleet simply is unbeatable providing the best damage buffs
-now crusherstampede
I won 7/8 games.
And I run PURE monster, and its not even a meme.
The best list is overwhelm them with all good to okayish datasheets we have for the cost now.
-3 maleceptors
-3 haruspex
-3 exocrine
-3 screamer killer
-1 trygon for mission and scoring VERY easily in Enemy DZ
-1 winged prime (because you need a character) and he gives synaps to trygon to have S10
-1pyro to hold you home objective.
(reply ) It's the Assimilation swam list

@@maelstromgamingstudios5240 ah ok I'm not crazy lol thanks I was sweating I was missing something
Now do a 1k list!
Is the norn emissary and assimilator that bad?
Honestly yes. I like taking the Emissary to friendly games because I painted a cool model I want to use it but they're 275 points, which is a unit of melee warriors+ prime and a Lictor, or it a maleceptor with 2 less wounds and no fnp but it's a 105 points cheaper etc.
Man I don’t understand did you play nexus? Its all about primary now and you know what Norn do… win you the primary OC15 is massive…
No exocrines?srsly?
Genestealers seem so flimsy for their points.
from a competitive point of view, I really don't understand people who like these changes... this is literally the WORST that could happen to the faction.
we went from a very solid, albeit tricky to pilot anti-meta (stat checking) unending swarm list that was *really good* in the right hands to...
A bunch of bigger monsters (which play in the weapon profiles people currently bring to beat other lists) that have pillow punches...
y'all going to get tabled so fast now... yet some are happy about?
Never apologize for being white my friend.
