- In this video I'll be restoring a vintage octagonal side table and refinishing it in it's natural colour rather than the oppressive dark varnish that it had originally.

What a sweet little solid wood table. I love it's natural color. It can breathe again!
Yes! Thank you!
Looks great!
Thanks!
Çok hoş bir restorasyon oldu gerçekten Tim. Video da çok keyifli. 😊🤗
Teşekkürler İsmail, sizin gibi köklü yaratıcılardan, @flippingdrawers ve @Mayfieldrestorations'tan geri bildirim almak çok cesaret verici. Hepiniz çok naziksiniz.

Awesome, thank you!
Outstanding work. Great restoration 👏👏
Many thanks!
Refreshing finish giving that sad and dark little table a new life. My Dad who lived in Llantwit Major would have loved your workshop although I don't think his would have been so neat! He never met his Great granddaughter but I just know he would have had a dolls house in his workshop too.
Thanks, the workshop only looks neat because I shove everything behind the cameras before I start to record a video!
I thought you'd had a catastrophe, right at the end, until I realised they were "before" and "after" shots!
Nice job.
Nice!
What a great little table!! Nice save!! Thank you for sharing!!

Beautiful… enjoyed all your videos so far. You picked up a great piece for the project. Also videography is nice too. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to more video in future. ❤ regards from Melbourne
Thank you! Will do!
That turned out quite nice. I was expecting a stain of some kind. But your solution is simple and elegant. Nice touch reusing the cut nails.
Glad you liked it!
Lovely little table! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you
Nice work 👌
Thanks a lot Jay it's very kind of you
Great job buddy. The Gilboys wax and hardwax oil are brilliant products, good choice 😀👍

Lovely 😊
Thank you! 😊
I've never heard of shellac sanding sealer. Nice! When I finish my chair I'm going to try to find that. I just don't like the idea of the nails. Other than that what a beautiful table!
Thanks. The nails were original so I was happy to retain them
Just my opinion, restoration does not require any music.
It's a difficult choice, but I agree. Music is very subjective and can spoil the experience if you don't like the creator's choice.
Water based shellac?
Yes! I used Parr's Shellac water based sanding sealer which is VOC free and contains no alcohol or solvent.
@@RhooseRestorations that’s a new one on me, thanks for the info and great post.
seriously, you've done a good job but your videos need to improve if you are looking for more subscribers.
Thank you for the advice - what do you suggest that I change to improve things?
