Bullshit. drivers clock in at amazon and follow every single company rule. That's an employee

They work for contractors. It’s kinda like a temp agency really.
@@RochelleLang No that's amazons bullshit cover to avoid having to treat them better. Real contractors are free to work for anyone, they can ONLY deliver for amazon. Again that is an employee, not a contractor
Honestly i don't understand how companies cant just pay their workers.
Why have just 30 multi-million dollar houses and yachts when you can have 50. Just pay off the right lobbyists and politicians.
How much comes out of the workers pay check to go to the union? How much do they get paid back?
Whatever amount is contractually agreed upon. Do you know what terms and conditions are?
pssst...only union leads make any real money, the rest get crumbs and they don't even know it.

It's important to support employees in advocating for their rights. Amazon workers put in a tremendous amount of effort and deserve recognition and fair treatment. Providing benefits to employees is not only a basic expectation but also a way to show appreciation for their hard work. Let's work towards creating a better workplace for everyone.
About time. When i worked there i tried like hell to get people on board with a strike. Ive never worked anywhere that bad in my life. Working conditions should be amazing at a place of this magnitude and its the exact opposite

you should move to cuba where they support communists that protest working and depend on government handouts for everything.

Its a drop in the bucket for Amazon. Whats going to happen...advancement in automation
Exactly, robotics, AI, etc will do the trick.

When they act like this, it just makes robots more appealing
How are they blaming Amazon if they work for other companies
Plenty of other stores to buy from, F Amazon
I’ll make sure I buy extra from there to make up the difference
Why should Amazon go to negotiating table? When most of the drivers are our independent company? It’s those independent companies that have to goto the negotiating table they pay wages. not Amazon.
I was pregnant and got hurt at Amazon, the one thing everyone said not to do. Turns out, pregnancy hormones do not care. It was a NIGHTMARE dealing with them. My child was born with complications and they didn't understand that the nurse we had hired to help watch them told us the night before i was supposed to go back that she no longer needed employment. My baby needed to be tube fed every two hours (i dont know if anyone is versed in nasal gastric tube feeding, but its a process) and they said the could get me on a three hour shift... then she told me they weren't going to rehire me if i tried to go back. Sure enough, I'm still black listed at a job i actually really liked doing. 😂
I work as a independent driver and warehouse. Pay went down as soon the illegal drivers came i even have video proof showing they don't care who ID they use to pick up routes
Don't blame illegal drivers for your failures if you have papers and every help possible of the USA goverment then it's your fault....
even worse jan 1 2025 new illinois state law takes into effect making it illegal for employeers to ask applicants if they have any form of proof they legally live here or can legally work here on work visa etc. you think they bus these guys in change the law to make things easier for you and i. no cheaper labor .

Its true. 3 malls in the Chicagoland area has been and will be revitalized: Hawthorn Mall now has outdoor stores and apartments (Vernon Hills), Golf Mill Mall’s construction plans have just gotten funded and approved and will be like Hawthorn with outdoor stores and apartments attached (Niles), and Old Orchard Mall added nicer stores and upgrades and just got approved to add apartments (Skokie). Old Orchard Mall looks great now, I have even gone back there to shop in my 40s.

Yea I worked at amazon eventually you get strung out physically and mentally because nobody is happy. Many think they will go robots, but they wouldn't because I cost more electricity and repair cost of parts then an amazon employee. They make your mandatory overtime for me it was 5 day 12 hrs. money was good, but it took a tool on my body my feet still hurt some days. Best of luck for these guys
lol snowflake generation I work 12 hour days five day s a week last 20 years roofing. Framing houses you push boxes but sure talk about how it broke your body down😂😂😂😂

You guys charge all F'n kinds now for the same crappy service!
The USPS is not underpaid by any means but sure
Starting today..Does this mean when it says it will deliver tomorrow...will it?😮
Probably not.
It depends on your location but they are not protested from all warehouses and not everyone. You don't even know how big Amazon is and they already prepared for this. They reduced number of DSP(the truck drivers) that can unionize because they get paid hourly through W-2 and expanded Amazon Flex drivers that are independent contractors that can't unionize. Do you know all the packages that you get it on same day? That's all Amazon flex drivers that delivers using personal cars. I know this because i am flex driver
@davidhan9979 wow..I hope Amazon starts paying and treating their people better..

You should work there and everything will be much better! Get going now. No more complaining. Go apply for a job and let's see you do it better.
Fire everybody that's walked off the job and hire new people
Do you know how long that will take they got to interview and train thousands of new hires it’s not that simple.
In some locations their turnover is so high that they can't. They've ran out of people to hire locally and have to pay more to get people willing to commute. Currently one is advertising jobs where i live, closest warehouse is over an hour away. So good luck with that plan.
And where will the new workers be found ? Are there tons of lower skilled employees beating down the door of companies all around you ? Where I'm at you simply cannot find lower waged labor at all.
I know some Mexicans that would love a job working there
Yeah, they can hire a fresh set of people who are willing to be paid even lower wages. That's the American way 🇺🇸 check out the documentary American Factory.
Hey more AI work? Great for the engineers! Least job security is going to climb since they still need the field service engineers, engineers and CS people around to fix assembly lines and the AI functionality when it goes wonky from bugs. I know a ton of illegal mexican people who would take these amazon jobs over working in the fields for less then what these workers are striking for.

Well, this feels like a waste of time. All Amazon is going to do is switch to their backup plans, hire new people, and forget about the old ones.
Exactly. When I worked for Safeway they called them “scabs” they immediately replaced us and these scabs made a few more $ an hour. Business went on as usual and the union capitulated for a crappy contract that didn’t serve the workers
Why does Amazon refuse to pay workers compensation for injured workers like myself? Madison Wisconsin
When you work or someone you trade a part of your life for them and you have to deciede if the trade value is worth it or not. If they work or amazon without a union they take what amazon offers or leave. If they work for amazon through a union they take what is offered through the union or leave. Either way someone dictates what they get and the decision of "does the good outweigh the bad" has to be considered in either case.

They say those drivers aren't actually employed by Amazon but if the driver is terminated from the DSP chances are Amazon will red flag them.
I worked at an “Amazon” in Ontario California at the airport and the way the workers handled the packages was insane. They’d get thrown into the ULDs even if they were marked “fragile”. Forklift drivers were regularly running over packages without any care in the world. Workers would steal things from packages all the time and managers, supervisors, and leads were always getting drunk in the parking lot, and then driving around on forklifts and other equipment they shouldn’t be operating after drinking on the job. They had a lot of kids as supervisors who’d get the jobs because they knew the mangers or were dating them. They played favorites and you rarely got time off. We’d maybe get a taco truck every now and then with months in between as an “appreciation”. Employees were having sex in the porta potties lol It was a terrible place to work, glad I left and found a place that cares about its employees.

A person can buy many of the items on Amazon for less direct from the manufacturer. Amazon has become a middle man, a forth entity that just inflates prices. Buy from the small business and it will get shipped.
Yep, they are a middleman, just like Walmart or any other place to buy items.
amazon has HIGH expectations. So they need to pay up. 5 dollars than the minimum wage is not enough . It's fine they don't want to pay a decent wage but they will have to keep hiring new employees around the clock
