I HAD to belong to a union years ago to keep my job in a town that had very few employment opportunities. I vowed then to never work for a union company again. Unions drive up wages and thereby driving up costs for everyone. If I buy a union made high priced car for instance I have to pay their exorbitant price inflated by their forty dollar an hour wage. I ask my boss for a raise to help pay for my new car. He gives me a raise and then he has to charge more for what he's selling. Someone else asks for a raise to buy his product which keeps going up to pay his employees wages. It just goes on and on. If you don't like your job go elsewhere but every time you get a raise union dues go up and you've made your union bosses richer and more powerful.

23.75 isn't a livable wage?
it was 15$ an hour a few years ago, now it's 20$ an hour and they want 30-40$ an hour.
Not in major cities where the price of a 1 bedroom 600sqft is 2000k a month.

let them strike, over paid that can easily be replaced with automation
Be like car workers strike themselves out of a job
These people are going to have the unions replace them with automation. They need to start looking around and seeing how other businesses deal with striking workers. The workers will have a short-term victory, but long-term, they will end up without a job.

They have been mistreating ppl and I understand you’re siding with them. But unionizing and pay raises seems like the temporary solution unfortunately. Corporations are going to end up replacing the ppl with AI/robots, the union boss will walk away with the millions they’ve already made/invested, and corps save money.
@LoMama86 That's all cool, but I don't think you comprehend the working conditions, the avg warehouse employee makes about $17 on avg & can't even go to the bathroom without asking permission, it's very labor intensive, 1099 flex drivers less than $20 & they have to pay for ALL the vehicle expenses, it's literally a Dem Plantation

Funny how they decide to strike right before Christmas.

St.Nicolas gave freely to all for free. His saying Santa would be disgusted is very out of line. Screw the teamsters.
Being an ex-union member from a now-defunct private company, you cannot make an impact without a mass walkout. Unfortunately, Amazon workers fear losing pay and getting fired if they do that. I would never work for Amazon. You have to be desperate.
I was terminated from AMAZON on 12/1/24 for being supposedly “below percentile” with UPH in the area AFE I was last at. I’ve being making my videos on my channel with their own playlist.
I bet if Santa's Elves formed a union that Santa would respond the way Amazon does.

How can a union threaten a private company. This is the problem with unions scare people till they give in.
NYC should be a right-to-work state .
New your rank and file police do what they have to do. The upper levels of NY government get and give huge tax breaks for Amazon to be there . That money could be used to take care of employees .
Mr. Sean O’ Brien please take on gig economy next. Specifically food delivery and rideshare apps like DoorDash and Uber. We need transparent pay, I’ve heard you speak about how gig economy companies hide behind making their employees independent contractors to avoid providing good working conditions and transparency and we agree.
I don’t understand Amazon workers not a real carrier 😂
!! ITS PACKAGE 📦 HAMDLING ! THEY CAN HIRE ANYONE TO DO THOOSE JOBS ! YA ROBOTS WILL SOON BE THERE !
I see the union in a negative light. Show up for work or get fired!
we should strike welfare also--they need to treat us better--$600 a month is not enough--food and liquor is too expensive--inflation--they should TAX the workers more and double our pay out-and we should get better free healthcare--i hate when they send me a $0 bill to gilt me. i should not have to wait in long lines to get my money monthly-we need-better living conditions--do the right thing--osha need to see how welfare is taking advantage of us wanting a piece of the American dream
Unions have cost a lot of people their jobs over the years from unrealistic demands. BUT they have also helped with unfair/unsafe work practices too so they are like a tool. It depends on how you use them and what for.
Should’ve ask why not during the election
All they have done is make me hate the teamsters union. Christmas is late because of the teamsters.
Shop at your local shop 🤯 problem solved.
@germs951 out where we live, somethings you can't get local here in the north woods.
My daughter used to work for Amazon before graduating college. She said they treated the employees very well. That being said IF You ARE NOT Happy with your Employer, LEAVE!
🤣😂 they have never treated them well . The warehouse employees can't even use the restroom and when they go on break it starts the second they tell them and to walk to the break room or car that's already 15 mins then coming back don't make me laugh. Than the delivery driver's during this time are getting 500 packages a day to deliver unless they have apartment routes and that's worse with 350 and all day going up stairs .

Just a reason not to privatize the USPS. Amazon did strike at Christmas before. I was a carrier at the PO and we received an avalanche of Amazon packages every day.
DON'T FORGET that Amazon gets a "SPECIAL DEAL" from the UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE to have their packages 📦 delivered ... but SMALL BUSINESSES and CONSUMERS pay the HIGHEST POSTAGE RATES in history 😮
My dad (rip & GOD forgaved his sins); I testify to the Lords mercy & forgiveness.
He ran for AFL-CIO /DC postal union president & got it of course when they had to have a special election. He hoarded soo much junk he brought with the pay & his new postal girlfriend that left right after he wasnt president anymore. He took us to the Union meeting in Florida & Disney Hotel. All the children of the elected members basically knew each other & those trips were your family vacation.
HE DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING DURING HIS TEMP PRESIDENCY BUT WAS PAID BIG TIME. GOT ELECTED BECAUSE THEY NEEDED SOMEONE THAT WOULD ACT TILL THEY COULD FILL AGAIN.👹

I know Amazon workers who make way more money than I do, have better benefits and easier work.Yet I'm happy with my job. I think workers are getting too demanding for unskilled labor. Just quit and go somewhere else if you're unhappy. Then you'll see how good you had it.

I worked for ups for 5 years and was a delivery driver for 2 years and recently quit. Everyone wants to be part of the Union but not worth it ups owes me thousands of dollars in wages I went to my Union submitted a grievance and nothing is done. Union is worse than Amazon they just want your money and don’t care about you don’t fall for their lies. Currently working at Amazon full time and I can confidently say that we get treated way better at Amazon than ups. Unions only create a hostile work environment.
I was also an amazon delivery driver and people exaggerate the working conditions for the Amazon vans were better than the ups trucks, don’t complain to Amazon complain to your dsp.
Delaying KIDS Christmas gifts for your own benefits is kind of messed up, these kids didn't do anything wrong to you... the teamsters don't care about kid's joy and anyone I know that has worked for Amazon in the warehouses say it is better than other logistics' centers... weird.. and $22/hr isn't too bad for physical jobs like sorting which I have done at Ontrac back in 2012-2013, but then moved to working in both the warehouse and office as a csr from 2013-2015.
Oh, poor kids. 🤣😂🤣🤦♀️
