Thanks for the summary, i have finnished The Hunters of Dune audiobook in Thursday and was curious what is in front of me. Can't wait to listen to this book next week. Fantastic video. I would also like to add that im very happy to have another Dune book written by Herbert's son. Instead of having no books after his death we can "swim" in the vast ocean of this incredible world he created and continued by his son. People can have different opinions that the quality is different but for me personally, i was and still am very, very happy what we got from Herbert's son. Just simply stunning. After this book i plan to listen to audiobooks of sequels.
I was shocked how good the last 1/3 of Sandworms was. The problem with Heretics till then is that it loses Paul and Leo along the way. Endless characters and self consuming lore always hurts a story when it becomes the story. Duncan held it all together thematically, and I guess someone realized that along the way. Still, Sandworms wraps it up nicely and I love those final pages. Reflects Dune and it's themes perfectly, page to page in that finale.
While these are very controversial books, I find these summary’s entertaining. I’m a bit of a fanfic enjoyer so these scratched a bit of an itch I had with dune in that I kinda just wanted a nice neat explanation of everything which kinda happened in this book. While it goes against the writing style of his father I don’t hold that against Brian, they’re different people. Frank is the better writer but that doesn’t mean Brian is horrible, I’m sure if he had his own ip to make he’d do decent. If he does somebody tell me what it’s called
SPOILERS!!! Sandworms is decent. I enjoyed it, yet Hunters could have been a chapter of Sandworms as you say. Also, I was not a fan of how things were resolved. A ton of build up to solve it in 2 pages with Norma Cenva and Duncan coming to terms woth his powers, which he was learbing to use.
I've read a lot of the prequels and the "last" two books. Brian basically whore out his father's work. The quality and logic is completely different from Frank's original works. I also hate how they used the "sequels" to create bookends for their Butlerian Jihad books. Very stupid. And the concept of the "others" at the end of book 6 being the remnants of the thinking machines is a novel concept. The execution was clunky and a waste of time. You stated accurately that book 7 didn't need to be written.
Agreed. I surprisingly found The Butlerian Jihad to be pretty good, but the set up in Hunters and Sandworms felt a bit forced. I'd have been fine with the main series ending with Chapterhouse, and Brian just starting with the prequel. There were definitely some intriguing ideas that Frank had for a finale, but Brian's writing din't quite bring it together.
I definitely would. Out of habit I mostly read South African (political) non-fiction, but I'm always on the lookout for something new if you have any recs. Non-fiction could actually be fun too.

Completely agree. Although Hunters of Dune didn’t work for me, I felt Sandworms of Dune brought everything to a satisfactory close.
Yueh kills Leto for a second time…. HILARIOUS!😂🤦🏾♂️
Appreciate these summaries!!!
I only ever read the original six, doubt I will read any others but thanks for giving these summaries.
Finally the reason for the Golden Path, Scattering and chosen one. Prepare for the return of the machines.

Love how proper English-speaking people say and use the word “lot”.
Book 7 and 8 was planned to be onebook.
Thx for this
Always welcome! :)

It's "Om-NEE-us" not "Om-inus."
Also, it's "Axe-lah-tul" not "ax-o-til" tanks.

Who are you to Judge a son's handling of bis father's legacy?
@@Rakonax
No kidding, it's like they don't want any sort of conclusion.
Haters gonna hate.
@Rakonax anyone can have an opinion, especially on a no talent hack lying about his "father's notes"
May you review African literature?
I definitely would. Out of habit I mostly read South African (political) non-fiction, but I'm always on the lookout for something new if you have any recs. Non-fiction could actually be fun too.
@@Internetrandothe French Sci fiction graphic novels. Learn to read French.
Books 7 and 8 are 💩 definitely not worth reading and the prequels are even worse they are just trying to cash in on the name.
Nah they are good
An eternal pox on Brian and Kevin for this juvenile fan fiction.
the Jihad prequels and the one about Paul are great reads. the only reason i didnt make it through the follow up series is lack of time.
