Quinn posts: Yeah. It's about Dune: YEAH! It's the final main series ultimate guide: HELL YEAH!!!!!! (I wish I had finished books past Messiah, and could safely watch it tho......)
Dude, it’s perfect. I got chills every time I watched this. Creating the music for Chapterhouse was an incredible journey! Thank you for asking me to be a part of this project! Cannot wait to see where your channel goes next! Though I kind of already know since I’m making the music for that next thing right now 🤔
1:07:22 "The Bene Gesserit knew that hierarchical bureaucratic systems were always in danger not because absolute power corrupts absolutely, but because power attracted the corruptible." I like that take.
You should do the Fremen Jihad...religious war driven by religious fervor zealocy....68 billion massacred, 10s of planets sterilized and dozens of religions wiped out....
It's interesting how the Dune books seem to oscillate between books that feel tight in their plotting and books that feel dense in their depths. God Emperor and Chapterhouse feel at times monolithic in the weight of their themes and the scope of their vision, whereas Children and Heretics have more of an adventurous tone to them that makes them more satisfying on initial read, but the God Emperor and Chapterhouse are the wellsprings I keep going back to, if that makes sense.
Your Ultimate Guides helped me get through the toughest part of my life after my accident. I can’t count how many times I’ve listened to each one. I would even listen to them in my sleep. Your voice, the music, the images, your wording have all been perfect and life/ sanity saving. Now I am living what feels like the start of a peak in my life, a time of reinvention and self discovery/ evolution. This final Ultimate Guide could not have come at a more perfect time of my life. Thank you for putting so much thought and passion into these invaluable and timeless works!
Thats amazing to hear, often you see comments seeing that videos are helping people in a real low but rarely that they’ve now been able to recover somewhat, its a very hopeful thing to hear, and i hope all of us have that sort of development one day if we feel like we’re at a low right now.
I've always been devastated that Frank Herbert died before completing his vision. I don't think where Brian and KJA took the series was the original intent. The face dancers became something more than themselves. I want to hear that story
Absolutely right Jake. I firmly believe that the Premature death of Frank Herbert was one of the greatest losses to literature in the last century. Who among us can imagine what truths about human nature would have been transmitted by the final novel?
Nah, I still kinda think Frank intended the machines to always be the great enemy. It’s viable that the face dancers ran into Erasmus and were altered.
@@darthbrooks4933 Also face dancers have always been bio machine hybrids!! They were " thinking machines" in violation of the jihad , humanity just didn't realise it yet . Once again they had made machine slaves who had the potential to become enemies! Humanity was so focused on inorganic machine enemies yet they replicated biological ones I still think machines really were defeated and if necessary could be defeated again however humanity has never faced a mass face dancer attack I think the face dancers did combine with some machine remnant but they were the superiors , it had already been proven that biological machines are more powerful
the story is exactly as herbert wanted he wrote the ending already..if you dont like it fine but dont blame Brain and KJA for the plot - their writitng might suck but the story is the story
Having encountered you years ago, myself a self anointed Dune expert, I absolutely love your breakdowns and analysis. I’ve waited a long time for this one.
@@calvinsuu1949 sorry, I seldom ever comment on a video and just saw my comment got a reply, haha. You must be referring to Dune Messiah when Paul asks Korba for some specific historical reels about his jihad. Something along the line of tens of billions killed, 90 planets sterilized and 500 or more completely demoralized. Along with the eradication of countless other religions. Korba stated unbelievers, all of them, and Paul states, no, believers all of them.
@@thomaswatson1420 yes somewhat correct...due to paul's control of spacung guild the fremen travelled from planet to planet spreading his prophecy and the human universe simply couldnt do anything
My guess is that the concept of breakaway Face Dancers with Daniel and Marty was one similar to Other Memories of BG and Leto II. They capture personas of others so perfectly, so completely that each person added becomes another Other Memory in their mind, and who knows, maybe each of their Other Memories as well. That would mean their knowledge and vision would increase geometrically with each added persona, combined with their far superior technology, turning them into Kwisatz Haderach-like beings, far beyond even Leto II's or Duncan's and Teg's capabilities. Yet through all of that, they have no inherent personal identity, they must create one themselves. There is an artificiality to them, a sort of antithesis to what humanity is, as seen and described by Herbert. I don't know what their purpose was, or if it was anything beyond a self insert by Herbert and his partner, but whatever it was, I think they ultimately failed at it when it comes to Duncan and the no-ship. The feeling I got when Duncan set the no-ship towards an unknown destination they were forever separated from the rest of the story, the Old Empire, the Matres and the Ones of Many Faces. That's a real Scattering moment, setting out blindly into an unknown corner of a seemingly infinite universe. Once the travel was complete, they were truly and completely alone, separated from everything they had ever known. I would assume Frank would have brought them into contact with another pocket of Scattering in the next book, using that opportunity to explore other dimensions of the Scattering and its effects on humanity. I don't see any reason why any of the characters in the no-ship would ever have a reason to or have the means to return to the Old Empire. Who knows, there isn't much to go on with. Back in the Old Empire I would expect a lot of disorder and restlessness happening due the unification of BG and HM, the breaking down of the dogmas of the Butlerian Jihad, and the anxious anticipation of the inevitable arrival of the Ones with Many Faces. It sounds like the buildup to Kralizec, and if the no-ship crew were somehow tied to it from the other end, it would be very interesting. Perhaps on the contrary to what Frank's son imagined, the machines weren't going to be the great enemy, but the future of the BG/HM organization, with their first steps towards Cyborg production taken. Maybe the point was going to be that humanity had finally evolved and progressed enough to reintegrate artificial intelligence into the human society, and that would somehow work towards the establishment of a universal democracy that Frank once hinted would be the ending point of the series. Anyway, congrats on finishing your grand project! It has been a fun journey and has also been great to discover others as passionate about Dune as I am. I personally would not be interested in delving into Brian Herbert's books in the slightest, as from the most basic outline they clearly and grossly miss Frank's vision, but others might disagree with me. I would personally recommend you the Mars trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson, whose writing is somewhat similar to that of GRRM. I think you would enjoy them a lot, and I'd love to see your take on them too.
If there was only one comment one this video, I would vote that this would be it. It's an unique yet comprehensive take on the material and I really like the "alternative' ending you but forth. We will never know, but your theories and points make sense.
I kinda agree with you that the Brian Herbert books just wouldn't be worth a deep dive, but even though I hate where they took the series after Frank's death I still find myself intrigued by them and would like to see Quinn describe the whole shitshow, especially as I'm never gonna read them!
I'm currently on the third book thanks to you and the movie, so I'll skip this one to avoid spoilers. But here's my comment and like as a thank you, Quinn; this channel should blow up as the years pass and it's well deserved.
Clearly Quinn's promises can be trusted to be fulfilled, no matter how long it takes. A plan coming to fruition across countless generations of youtube videos!
Another highly anticipated ultimate guide, the best yet! Fantastic music too. I am very glad I dropped everything to watch this. A perfect example of why you should always have notifications turned on for Quinn's Ideas. Excellent work as always Quinn, always worth the wait 💜
It's crazy to think how influential your coverage of the Dune series is. You got me into the books in 2019, and you really helped create the market for dune on the internet. You definitely deserve some credit for the popularity of the films that we are getting.
AFTER WATCHING THE DUNE MOVIE MY INTEREST IN READING WAS SPARKED AGAIN, AFTER READING EACH BOOK I WOULD ALWAYS WATCH THESE VIDEOS TO MAKE SURE I DIDNT MISS ANYTHING OR JUST SIMPLY HEAR THE LORE AGAIN, I LOVE LISTENING ON A LONG DRIVE OR BEFORE I SLEEP, BEEN WAITING FOR CHAPTERHOUSE THANK YOU, HOPE ALL IS WELL QUINN GGOD BLESS YOU
I have to agree with the Organism. I always thought Daniel and Marty were meta characters, like a self-insert from Frank Herbert, meant to be Frank Herbert and his wife, Beverly Herbert. I got the feeling he knew he wasn't going to be able to complete the story, so those two characters, gardening, watching the inhabitants of the no-ship, discussing them getting away, and their plans for them, were like Herbert admitting the ending had escaped him, perhaps due to age or health, as the couple gardening invoked images or feelings of an older, retired couple, reflecting on life, and the inhabitants of the no-ship, Herbert's characters, his creations, were like his children, and he had great hopes, dreams, and plans for them, but he knew he wouldn't be able to see what becomes of them. I certainly never thought they were robots from before the Butlerian Jihad, though I did think the Honored Matres may have been feeling some remanent of the old thinking machines who were trying to go on with their existence beyond the human occupied space, only to have their ancient enemy and creators invade their space. But then again, I wasn't the one to find boxes and boxes of notes in an attic that contradict much of what was actually written in the original novels, so what do I know of Frank Herbert's intentions for continuing the Dune universe...
I also think, Chapterhouse was a worthy end to the story. I mean, the "universe" has pre-novel history (that includes the main characters) and it will a post-novel future. And the end of Chapterhouse either resolved the most important plot-lines or put them well on their way to be resolved in a post-novel future. Mind you, Frank was not someone who explained his universe beyond what was actually necessary to tell the story, leaving much open to individual interpretation... which would also be in line with the vast time-frame (in which truth is easily lost in legend). Thus, leaving open what was left open at the end of Chapterhouse is a good way to conclude Dune. That said, I don't think the son's sequels are as bad as they are often made out to be. Of course they are far from "daddy's" books. But a nice and interesting continuation and conclusion. My biggest problem with them is the whole Facedancers on Ithaca plot line... that was so infuriatingly lazy writing. Mentats such as Duncan and Miles would have never allowed them to remain undetected for this long... not with all the signs and evidence that had been piling on from the very day when they "escaped" from the Handlers' homeworld. Did they really believe, the old Rabbi was "sporty" enough to flee? Did they really believe that Thufir's awakening failed because the "witches" failed?? Did they really not connect the dots between the saboteurs skillfully evading security systems without a traitor among those who set them up and controlled them? Did they really not remember that the Rabbi was with Thufir on the Handlers' world, when it was revealed that he was a Facedancer?? Did they really not think about properly locking the doors of the interrogation room (or the bridge or any other vital place)?? Would Miles really not have stepped in to catch the revealed Facedancer, before he killed the guards and went to the bridge?? Why didn't any of the Reverend Mothers with their superior fighting skills step in at that point?? This made me rage-quit multiple times... though I'm glad that I picked the book up again to read to the end. It's a bit too hunky-dory, when compared to Frank's novels, but I think it is a nice conclusion. And were it not for that disastrously bad Facedancers on Ithaca plotline, it would actually be a rather good book. Still not on "daddy's" Level, but still good.
I agree with you. Herbert’s wife had cancer and he devoted much of his time to care for her so probably had no time to write a 7th book. He leaves it for each of us to figure it out. I think it’s a great ending as life continues and we don’t always have to know the future… Idaho and Sheana escape prescience.
Yes, I honestly thought you'd given up or something else happened and you'd decided to not finish, been waiting so long thank you so much these are pure gold content
Thank you Quinn. This series has rekindled my love for Dune, and has been inspiring a lot of new ideas inside of me. These videos have been truly impressive, well made and a sincere love letter to Herbert's universe. Thank you for all the entertainment, and your hard work / passion.
Hey Quinn! You were the reason I finally sat down and read/listened to all the Dune books. I came for the Dune, stayed for Ideas of Ice and Fire. But I love that now your channel is all about YOUR Ideas! Keep up the great work!
Three years ago, I came for the Game of Thrones lore, but I stayed for the Dune lore ^^ But what I actually wanted to say was that you and your Ultimate Guide are the reason I got into Dune. Thank you so much for that.
I started reading Dune today, all thanks to you. I've been falling asleep to your playlists for a couple weeks now, learning all about Dune. Thanks for giving meaning to my life.
@@Emanon... Huh? Sure man I have plenty of meaning to my life, but listening to these stories as I fall asleep has greatly helped me in ways I can't convey. Don't make it weird. It's not that deep.
What a journey! I've been around since (near) the beginning, and when you shifted to Dune, I was so excited, because until then I'd never really had anyone to geek out over Dune with, besides my uncle (who now watches your channel). I was in sixth grade reading Chapterhouse when Frank passed away, so it's always been a fascinating puzzle box to me. Keep up the amazing content, Quinn!
Excellent work, Quinn! I love the Dune series so much and there’s no way I could possibly have summarized it as effectively as you have with these 7 videos. Thank you for your hard work!
Quinn is the dune GOAT let's be honest, once I'm done reading the first law trilogy I'm going to check out the dune books! Cheers Quinn my lad, and happy Easter eh
Amazing series! I highly recommend continuing on with the 3 "stand-alones" and "The Age of Madness" trilogy. They're all one big part of "The First Law" story. As for Dune, Frank Herbert's first 6 original Dune books is all you need to read of that story. And maybe the Dune Encyclopedia, if you can get your hands on a copy.
@@eddiepolo6047 I'm halfway through the second book and I agree man, awesome series and I LOVE the way Joe writes his characters, I've heard good things about the stand-alones, I'll definitely check them out! :)
@@newsmansuper2925 Dune 7.... sounds very woke.... 🤣 The sand was a fiery orange as the sun began to set over Arrakis. It was a time of change, a time of awakening. The old ways were no longer enough, no longer relevant to the complex world that was emerging. The people of Arrakis were waking up to new possibilities, to new ways of thinking and being. At the heart of this change was the spontaneous movement known as reformers. They were a group of individuals who rejected the strict order and conformity of the old ways, choosing instead to embrace freedom, creativity, and individuality. They sought to break down the rigid hierarchy of the past and build a new society based on equality and respect for all.
Thank you for all your effort. I first stumbled across your youtube channel several years ago and enjoyed your content on Dune back then. But, I "lost" your channel as I went through several moves and career changes. One day a few months ago, I wondered, "whatever happened to that youtube channel on Dune I loved so much?" And wow, you've added so much more great content. Do continue with your work! You do an awesome job.
Holy smokes, I had to make sure I had time to watch this in one sitting, and I'm glad I did. I got some friends of mine (also from the Netherlands) that only know the Dune movie(s) or even just the Westwood games, to check your channel for more a way more in-depth look at the Dune universe than they could ever imagine there was after just the games and movie. Your channel rekindled my love for the Dune saga all over again, and 20 years after reading the books, I will start reading them again soon. Thank you so much for that!
You've done it. You've really done it. You've captured the highlights, choice clips of the philosophy, the wheels within wheels feel of Dune, and even steered around a few of the unnecessarily clunky bits. I could listen to this all day. Thank you Quinn! And at this point - I would take your guess at a fitting sequel storyline in preference to any others I've seen.
Thank you for another banger, Quinn - you've made quite probably the only complete "version" of all the Frank Herbert Dune books we'll ever see. Great use of music and fan art to bolster the narrative!
I'm only 16 mins into this video, but I felt compelled to say "this is fucking amazing" already. I first stumbled upon your channel a few years ago, searching for Dune videos on TH-cam, and quickly became addicted to this channel. You have great taste in literature, and I love the way that you analyze and present these stories. I know this last video has been a long time coming, and it does not disappoint at all. I'm beyond excited to watch this video of you analyzing my favorite of Frank Herbert's books. The music is also unreal; it definitely sets a tone and gives the video depth within depth. lol. You are a one-of-a-kind channel, Quinn. Great fucking job, and keep up the amazing work!
Thank you Quinn! You’ve got me reading The Dark Forest and it is genuinely unsettling! Dune was the first series to kindle my love of sci-fi so I can’t thank you enough for this series! The wait was worth it!
It was great to finally see this! Thank you for making the Ultimate Guide to Dune series! I wouldn’t have continued the other books after Dune if it weren’t for Part 1. Your Chapterhouse video was great and the music is fantastic!
I'm so proud of you Quinn! This is excellent and the only guide I send to friends who get confused when they start reading Dune. Your passion and dedication are visible all over these videos and I just love all the artwork you find and edit at just the right moment. Awesome work!
BRAVO!!!! It was worth the wait! I would love if you did a Quinn Talks unscripted video on where you think Dune Book 7 may have gone in more detail based solely on your opinion, and conjecture from what the previous novels seemed to have been setting up throughout the six original novels. Even better still would be if you maybe decided to do a full fan fiction on Dune Book 7. Whether it be in a video format, or written form; I would be happy with either. Any direction you may take the story has got to be better than the hot mess we got stuck with in Hunters and Sandworms of Dune. I definitely consider your interpretations as the most consistent with what Frank Herbert seems to have intended of all the content currently available. Diskette of Dune Book 7 notes in a deposit box be damned! Congratulations, and I hope you continue with more Dune content in some form on your channel. Thanks for everything you have done to make Dune resonate to everyone.
That would be pretty interesting to me also. I never read any of the sequels/prequels, so my last experience of Dune is the conclusion of Chapterhouse Dune. It's haunting because it hints at a very different direction the next book might go. I like to think that the feared enemy the Honored Matres were running away from was Daniel and Marty ... just those two, and the minions under their thrall. To me, it makes sense that it would be just those two. If these advanced face dancers absorb others, why not each other? The end result would be that only the strongest remain, absorbing all the others. But being aware of the deep loneliness of Leto II, they would end with two remaining rather than one, just so they'd have each other to talk to. Anyway, the sheer power of these two hints that the universe beyond the "net" is full of similarly powerful and dangerous entities ... ones that weren't so weak like the Honored Matres that they'd need to run away back to the old imperium. So that's the sort of realm I imagined we'd see in the next book. I imagined Duncan and the others thrown into a completely unknown unimaginably expansive realm where they were motes among giants. I imagined that like Daniel and Marty, these giants would be quintessentially homo sapiens, so they are the true fulfillment of Leto's Golden Path. Those caught in the "net" would be doomed dead-enders to the machine killers. That Duncan and a small handful of others somehow managed to escape the net was luck, rather than part of any plan. I don't know what Herbert may have planned. I just imagine that if he had gone in this direction, it would creatively free him up to bring in completely new beings with very different themes and messages to convey.
AWESOME!!,Fantastic!, Tremendous!, etc., etc, etc!!! Thank you so much Mr Howard! It was definitely worth the long wait... Thank you for hanging in there and finishing this series. It has been many decades (almost exactly four) since I read the first four Dune books - life getting in the way of reading the last two. Thank you for making it possible to enjoy those after reliving the first four. Can't wait for your next deep dives - Tadhya was fantastic, can't wait for the next of that (hopeful) series! You & your channel are a blessing in my life. Thanks!
The first 4 dune books are great but i feel the last 2 are underrated masterpieces in their own way. They have so much weight behind them. Chapterhouse and heretics may not be as iconic as the first or children uf dune, but i really do enjoy re-reading them every now and again just so i can re-visit their batshit craziness lol
Quinn, this was really extraordinary. I think you captured the feel and wonder of Frank Herbert's Dune books beautifully. I have listened to all 7 of your Ultimate Guides and have enjoyed them immensely. Thank you so much for this incredible piece of work. I think it will stand as an important analysis of Frank Herbert's work. I think you captured Frank Herbert's intensions very faithfully. It is one of my most favorite series of books, and I have read and reread them in my life. I have always spent a lot of time thinking about what it meant. I have incorparated many of Frank's ideas into my own beliefs about how to live a life, as well as how to be a good leader and person. Your Guides have given me new thoughts about the ideas of Dune. I will reread the books again later in my life. I will continue to follow your wonderful work in the future. Thank-you very much, Brendan
Thank you, I've really enjoyed this series. Ive been reading these books for years now and It's nice to listen to someone who shares my love. So again... a massive thank you to everyone who worked on this series. 👍👍
Quinn your explanation videos are the perfect companion to the Dune saga. You condense the action and themes in a way that helps me understand the greater scope of what FH was trying to convey. It’s almost more exciting than reading the books, to be honest. Thank you for your dedication to this fandom and community.
Thank you so much Quinn, for this labour of love. I have been truly fascinated and entertained by this set of videos that you created. Although, I waited a great deal of time for this final installment, your concluding comments here have explained the reason for the delay. I really believe you have a passion for the genre and a talent of explaining that made me first like your channel, but with the intention of unliking after I finished, because I was only interested in your take on the Dune saga. However, now I will find another series that you have done and/or await when you do another that I am interested in. I have only written comments for 1 previous videos on youtube many years ago, but I just felt I had to create a memory here also, because you at least deserve that for this effort. Once again, thank you so much
Amazing vid. This book was probably the most difficult for me to follow. This video helped me clear a few things up. Thanks for all your hard work over the years Quinn.
Thank you! I just watched all 7 breakdown videos for the third time. I recommend these videos to anyone who wants more DUNE, but doesn't have time to read the books. The art in the videos is amazing, but you can listen to them in your car, or while doing other tasks, like a podcast.
I started watching the first part of this epic series nearly five years ago. It's amazing. Now we've finally gotten the conclusion to Frank Herbert's original series.
Thank you for all the effort put into making this series. It has been one of the most riveting series of videos in all of the TH-cam history. Big thanks to James Dahl for his amazing work. My hat is off to you gentlemen. Thank you very much!
I kind of can't believe this video finally exists! I really appreciate the amount of effort (practical, artistic, and emotional) that went into producing this. Looking forward to marathoning your entire Ultimate Guide to Dune series next time I have 7+ hrs to spare :) I'm also very excited to see you do some graphic novel deep dives as well. Anything by BKV and Jodorowsky especially.
I had my own moment of prescience for this video. I checked yesterday and the day before; two, three, four times I checked your channel, knowing you had a video of Chapterhouse, yet unable to find it. Yet today I check again and it is here. Thank you Quinn!
Quinn thank you for helping me become reacquainted with a universe and story I adored in my youth. Frank Herbert was a brilliant man who didn't just see complexities of the human condition and society that most miss, he used them as the heart of his epic work. Thank you for helping us see all of that more clearly Quinn!
After watching the first video in this series I was inspired to read the novels for myself and loved them. I've been looking forward to this video for a long time. Thank you for the hard work and creativity you put into these wonderful videos! ❤
Thank you so much for sharing your love of Dune with us, Quinn! I had always been a little intimidated by it… having heard of its deeply Philosophical nature and densely layered narrative structure. Your videos helped me break up the story into digestible chunks…I really appreciate the work you’ve done to accomplish this!
This is a superb piece of work. A labour of love. Even though I've read all the books I was still gripped!. The structure, cadence, artwork, everything. Brilliant.
Thanks, for finally finishing this series. I remember when it started 5 years ago, and that when you earned my sub. Thanks so much. This was wonderful!
Congratulations. Thanks for the journey. I only found your channel about a year and a half ago and massively enjoyed. For what it's worth, I've read the Brian Herbert books and like them in their own right. For me, after reading and rereading, debating and watching this show I accepted chapterhouse as the final book of the series. The golden path (the net) Paul and Leto cemented with their timeline culminated in the moment Duncan and the others managed to escape it. This was the grand vision of Leto after all. The powerful Atreides genes scattered in such a way some people would always be invisible or unreachable for the ultimate power of the net.
Thank so much for this series. I have photosensitive seizures triggered by reading for a long period of time. So having a well thought out, comprehensive and passionate breakdown is amazing. I come back and watch this series every couple of months. Like you were saying about the last book, everytime I watch again I gain more understanding. Thank you so much.
What you’ve done with this whole Dune series is amazing! I know I’ve said this in other comments but thank you again for all the time that you spent on this, it’s been an incredible ride.
when i die and if i go to the afterlife. the first thing I will be doing is finding frankherbert and asking him to tell me the end of this series. when starting this series I had no idea it was never finished. there will forever be a dune sized hole in my heart, mind, and soul
Hello Quinn, that was a delight i have been waiting for for a long time from you; this is my favorite book in the known universe, have read it 10 times so far... there is something there i cannot find anywhere else and so, you can imagine how much i loved you bringing it to life, forever grateful brother 👌 Also, the music was perfect for this ty jamez
*Thank you* , Quinn, I've loved every Dune exposition video you've made, every turn of these old-friend plots, and every word you've enlivened for us in this multi-year journey. I found your channel about a year prior to the "big" movie; early enough to enjoy your thrill as the new cinematic iteration washed over our cultural landscape. But all along, you've faithfully rendered Herbert's characters *and* ideas into spoken word to our sheer delight. And though I grew up reading of Paul Muad'dib, starting in the '70's (at young Paul's age) -- long ago enough to supposedly digest and divest from Arrakis, your talented voice acting and thoughtful commentary have brought all these favorite childhood moments back (and forwards) for new life and new consideration, like an Idaho golem with hidden talents, patiently waiting for me to catch up. Herbert would be so pleased. I'm going to miss these videos almost as much as I can nearly -- but not quite! -- taste that wished-for final installment, penned by Herbert's hand. Anyway, it's all prologue, now, and some great things await you, no doubt. But *damn* , Quinn, you did a beautiful thing, and *what a blast* it's been. 🙏🏽
I’ve been waiting for this like everyone else, and it did not disappoint. A request. You know Herbert as well as anyone. There’s controversy about how authentic the Herbert/Anderson finale is. I’d love to hear your ideas. Where do you think it was going? I know you can’t know, but I’d love to hear your ideas.

It's been a long time, but well worth the wait!

I can't say it any better than you have!
🙌👏 Well said. Packed full of soul food in those books!
absolutely true
still, i do also love going back to both children and heretics.
Aptly put!
If i start a DUNE book-any DUNE book- i have to read all six of them. I don't bother with the expanded universe.

It was too much.
Best line in the book, I genuinely laughed.
Hope you're feeling better now homie
@@LordBathtub I AM. Thank You! 🙏
Thats amazing to hear, often you see comments seeing that videos are helping people in a real low but rarely that they’ve now been able to recover somewhat, its a very hopeful thing to hear, and i hope all of us have that sort of development one day if we feel like we’re at a low right now.
I can only imagine how much work went into this masterpiece. Thank you Quinn and Jamez!
You’re in for a ride!
Is Jamez the editor or is this a Collab?
Humanity was so focused on inorganic machine enemies yet they replicated biological ones
I still think machines really were defeated and if necessary could be defeated again however humanity has never faced a mass face dancer attack
I think the face dancers did combine with some machine remnant but they were the superiors , it had already been proven that biological machines are more powerful
the story is exactly as herbert wanted he wrote the ending already..if you dont like it fine but dont blame Brain and KJA for the plot - their writitng might suck but the story is the story
The ultimate truth is we do not know
And Quinn wept. For there were no more worlds left to conquer.
There is... another... a legend. A treasure not as bright as the original 6, but purer than the false idols that came after them... *Revenant*

Having encountered you years ago, myself a self anointed Dune expert, I absolutely love your breakdowns and analysis. I’ve waited a long time for this one.
Dune expert, eh? So what was the statistics given to Paul on the fremen jihad?
That's a great take on what the 7th book could have been.
I kinda agree with you that the Brian Herbert books just wouldn't be worth a deep dive, but even though I hate where they took the series after Frank's death I still find myself intrigued by them and would like to see Quinn describe the whole shitshow, especially as I'm never gonna read them!
Also great take on where the 7th book would have gone, I think you're pretty close to the mark
@@darren806 I did read them, years ago, & while I agree with you, I also enjoyed them quite a bit.
I too would greatly enjoy a deep dive into them
I'm currently on the third book thanks to you and the movie, so I'll skip this one to avoid spoilers. But here's my comment and like as a thank you, Quinn; this channel should blow up as the years pass and it's well deserved.
Enjoy! I deeply enjoyed Children of Dune.

Quinn helped me get into Dune a few years ago and its great to see his channel grow. Glad we finally got this guide.
Dahl's music is AMAZING. The music, laced in parallel with Quinn's narration, makes for an auditory masterpiece. Chef's Kiss 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
In that case...the planet of testing would be Pandora. 😉
Hence my refusal to see the "extended universe" sequels as canon...
And you are totally miss reading what has happened.
Yes! This is my favorite outside of the original Dune. I. Am. Stoked.

But what I actually wanted to say was that you and your Ultimate Guide are the reason I got into Dune. Thank you so much for that.
I started reading Dune today, all thanks to you.

I highly recommend continuing on with the 3 "stand-alones" and "The Age of Madness" trilogy.

The sand was a fiery orange as the sun began to set over Arrakis.

Hey Quinn, I can't believe it's been 5 years. Great work again bro, and thank you for your work and genuine love for our favorite sci fi. You the man.

The long wait is over, THE 🐐 IS BACK BABY!!
Best Dune Videos on the Internet. Been waiting for this one!
I look forward to seeing your posts. What excellent narrative, editing and production.
Better than book one what are you talking about makes no sense.

This is incredible work.
You finally did it! I started and finished the series because of these videos. Love it.
