I'd bought an adapter few wks ago & did same w/ one of mine. It's true, runs much better. Will purchase anthr adapter & long Ethernet cord to run from router for 2nd fire stick in anthr rm. Hopefully cord length won't make a diff.

I have a 2017 Shield and it still out performs damn near everything on the market today. With that being said I am also a huge fan of Amazons Fire Tv Cube. I enjoy the Alexa part of it and not having to use a remote to access that feature like you have to do with all of the Shields. It also has it's own speaker so it can be used with the tv off and I love being able to use it with my voice for home automation. It has the same amount of Ram and Storage and a really decent processor as well. The price point in comparison to the Shield is quite a bit better as well.
Here is a great tip for all you people experiencing buffering. Set you android (network settings) to UDP from TCP, also set your VPN (network settings) to UDP from TCP. UDP has no data handshakes and is much faster than TCP and designed for video data.(streaming) Your buffering issues should be gone after setting both. Don't forget to reboot your android device after setting. Pass this tip on please and hope that helps your buffering problems.. Won't help on Wifi it is tcp based so break out an ethernet cable (udp based) Try a internet speed check before and after on your android box and see the difference yourself.
Why you charge people for vpn and all you got to do is download this app and you get all the channels I won't say no name but every channels you have I got it and no need no vpn and it's free.

I always wanted to try the NVIDIA shield but I keep it simple and I learn a lot from troy but Im out of that things change too many competion now I build mines with spanish content thats a unique firestick but I can clone it the programs I use are paid version now but TROY has the work around.
@@troypoint 9:43 there's an app to scan the best channel if you reply I tell you the name AT&T does it automatically they control the router but for the other than can change it I'll share it since you share so much.
Been encountering a new thing for some time now. In Kodi, no matter which addon I use, tv shows are choppy/stutter. Doesn't appear to happen with movies streams. I choose RD links, internet speed is ~550 Mbps, and on VPN. Increased video cache size in advanced settings xml but no luck. I'm at a list.

Hello @SL are you getting buffering with free apps? If so, that is the problem. Their servers are overloaded. Look on our website for Real-Debrid tutorial.

So, in addition to using my Firestick with Wi-Fi connection, I also have one located much closer to my router, so I use an ethernet connection, yet I still have buffering issues. I'd be interested in knowing what I can do in this instance as well. I'm also interested in any suggestions for improving buffering issues when using an android box (T95Q), since the Settings options are different from Firestick. Looking forward to any useful info on these matters. 😁
Hi Larry, many times the buffering problems are due to the streams themselves. Keep in mind that you will never have perfect streaming when it comes to the free streaming sites or apps. Also, have you tested your download speed? Here is our tool for that - troypoint.com/internet-speed-test/

On my fire tv i just wired it through ethernet and it made a huge difference!! Because wired is better than wifi
