- Darrell survives 5 minutes in a 59 Corvette on bias ply tires with Dan at the wheel. Chris shows Darrell just WHY the Bias Ply tires handled so wild in the test drive with Dan. They cut up a bias ply tire and a radial tire to take a look inside the differences between both of them!

He mentioned winches using rope vrs steal... but you can get synthetic rope for winches. Never seen them used on large scale such as wreckers or cranes, but they are fairly popular with winches on smaller trucks like Jeeps. Synthetic rope can be just as strong as steel wire rope, but weigh alot less.
That’s right….the biggest disadvantage to synthetic rope vs steel cable in those applications is abrasion resistance. The polymer cords just can’t take the friction when spooling and unspooling under a load for long periods of time.

I have a set of 33x12.50x15 tires that I bought in 1985. They have never had air added to them and they are still aired up. They are on my 1970 Chevrolet Blazer....
Get rid of them. There time bombs.
@@edstingray3828 I would agree with you if I was driving on the highway or faster than 20 or 25 miles an hour. I only drive the Blazer on back roads and trails on my property.
Bias ply on cod days were very hard and drove terribly till they warmed up, no fun at al.
This was totally worth seeing that vette nearly getting wrecked
I remember my ford estates in 80s even radial tyres would go out shape and car would start shaking and you check ur wheels and tyre like egg bulge shape
Put spare on and away we go

Winch rope is a thing he needs to do some research
i've seen a 50ton rotator that uses synthetic.... granted the rope is over an inch thick....

The things need banning. Period. No excuse to use them. Use a same size radial. Originality, authenticity, and any other excuse should never trump safety. Use em on your trailer queen's by all means tho.

You need to fix the audio issues with your vids. It's too quiet and washed out. I'll keep checking and until it is good, I will not watch a full vid. Put the attention to quality you put into the cars you work on , into making excellent content. I believe you have the ability and the desire. I miss the old show, and you have my interest, I just cannot watch poorly produced content.
I had no issues at all with the audio.
