@@buddythegamers8073 Flea markets and country auctions are a great place to start.Yard sales aren't that great. Estate sales are good too but expect to pay $100-$350 depending on condition. It's not a very common pickup because it's not a generic type it's called a promotional type.
Nice restore job this toy cars and trucks were built to and not made over seas !powder coat will last longer than original paint AWSOME job 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
..part of the allure to these videos besides the expert angles, backdrops and overall editing, is the sound. Clicks, bends, clangs, snaps and whirs. No weird music or annoying voices. I, too would have enjoyed seeing the fix on the driver's door..wonderful finish (I notice a slight difference in color between the cab and the bed..not a huge deal) Bravo! Bring on the trailer restoration~
Hi Brutis 1983,you should try to find the van & the big moving truck & put the covered trailer behind the van & the open top trailer behind the pickup & find a car trailer that will fit behind the big U-haul truck
I think it might work better if you primered it first and sanded on that layer. Primer is thinner and when you paint the regular color on afterwards it will preserve the details better.
Powder coating will only stick to bare metal & must be electrified. Positive lead in the paint & at the nozzle, negative lead connected to the bare metal object you're painting. Bake at 350F and it's the hardest paint finish, even harder than Emron epoxy paint used on tractors, bulldozers, heavy equipment, etc. I've never seen someone powder coat over an existing layer of powder coat. Even with wet sanding, I'm not sure how that 2nd layer will hold up over time. It may peel off. That 2nd layer is also why the front & back ended up 2 different shades of orange. But hey, everyone's a critic when you're watching & not doing the work. He musta took these things apart & put them back together as a kid. Definitely has the knack for it.
@@jamesooten3659 I've seen that on other channels as well I can't speak for it sticking but do you think they would make a powder coat primer if it didn't work?
Such a great restauration...the truck looked nice in the old used look...like a real old Ford which had a long life as a workhorse....but estorated it blooks perfect ;o)
At the end of the video I remember having one of those trailers.... Definitely remember the trailer.... I think I had truck too... Don't remember the truck 100% but do remember the trailer.... I had a lot of Tonka trucks..... I have a picture of me in 64 with a "Remote control" tractor trailer with three Tonka trucks on a flat bed..... Back then " Remote control" ment it had a controller with a 6' wire hooked to it... Lol. It was the s*#t back then.... Great re condition 👍.
Super restauration comme d'habitude, très beau modèle ! Il faudrait peut-être raccourcir la pince pour que le bout soit plus large, ça éviterais de déformer les languettes. 👍
I like your use of the powder coat, should be a long lasting finish. I gather that this coating didn’t need electrical action to attach it to the body. Could you display the names of the finishing abrasives that you use, grit size etc.? Nice job done. I remember these and similar models as advertising in dealerships.
My brother and i had the log hauler and car hauler back in the late sixties. You could tilt the cab to turn the front wheels. I believe these were Tonkas.
BUDDY-L Made good toys TOO! Never heard of Nylint toys, but I didn't have many toys when I was a kid even some of my toys came from our local garbage dumps.
I still have both the truck and U-Haul trailer set that my dad brought home to me when I was 8. I never played with it, and have kept it clean and dry. It's still essentially brand new. The question is: Is it worth anything?
Você pode encontrar tudo na Gasoline Alley, dentro do ebay. Busque como Nylint parts. A pessoa encarregada pelas vendas é a Pam, e ela é rápida e eficiente. Você também pode contatá-los pelo site: www.gasolinealley.com Boa sorte!

Joe, you've done it again, an awesome transformation. It has become a wonderful model.

Really nice resto!!! Iv been wanting to see someone do a high detail/ realistic resto upgrade to one of these trucks! Great job!
I still have my U haul set. It’s a 1966 F100. With twin I beam. And two trailers. One covered one open. Great job.

Мастер золотые руки, отличная работа ! Ты дал вторую жизнь прекрасному образцу детской игрушки .
The wheels without the covers and whitewall sides are a good depiction of todays trucks
Would absolutely love to see this and a few other Tonka's made into RC's.
Beautiful work. Thank you for sharing.
very nice....not sure why anybody gave it a thumbs down.
That truck was in good shape for it’s age good work 👍🏼👍🏼

Awesome work!! That orange turned out nice!!
PERFECTLY BEAUTIFUL restoration!!!!

Nice restoration.
Are the cab and bed different colors for a reason or just run out of paint? 😏
It’s just beautiful! I hope somewhere there is a video of you restoring the trailer as well!!!
Very nice! Super miniature beatiful. I like tankou very much!
Wow i love this chevy truck .I love old tin toys.it gives feel of real sheet metal truck..it's a 62 chevy...

Beautifull work!

Martin Oettel the toy ford truck is probably worth 500 dollars😊
Great job
Jan Kotze agreed😜
Love your work, you should do that trailer too, so it can match the truck.
Awesome job!
Feels like putting together new truck
wow nice work Joe !!!! love your channel !!!!!
Great job i hope you do a U-Haul trailer soon
I had one like it with the trailer, cool!
What do you do with all your amazing restorations after you’re finished them? You must have quite the collection now.
This is awesome, beautiful job. Would you consider restoring the trailer as well?
Nice work dudeb
Looks brand new!

One of the best vids ive seen
I wish this truck was mine! I have a 58’ Stepside! That is a 1959 F100 Fleetside! 1960 had FORD written across the hood where the hood ornament is.
Hi bro 👋👋👋very good restoration Ford 👍👍👍
You should cover your needle nose pliers with tape to prevent marring the paint. Nice work!
Awesome job😎
Nice truck, but I would of left this one alone.
Gearhead 6971 really why😉
would have
I've heard of the Rock of Gibraltar, the Queen of Sheba, and the Count of Monte Cristo, but who or what is the Would of Left?

i had this truck and trailer. Good memories.
Es un recuerdo de mi niñez y eso pueda servir de experiencia y mi mamá descansa en el cielo
Back when if these toys fell on you, they could give you a concussion
Lindo, perfeito.
Parabéns.
nice job. I know it's how it was originally, but personally I don't care for the white tailgate. I would have made it the same as the rest.
I remember this and a small box trailer as a birthday gift about gazillion years ago
Better than new.
Fantastic!
Watches restoration. Contentment.
My brother and i had the log hauler and car hauler back in the late sixties. You could tilt the cab to turn the front wheels. I believe these were Tonkas.
Coisa linda essa nova restauração
Ok it's great. But other type of recovery? Only easy? And the die-cast model?
ENCORE!! Do the Trailer :)
Did you restore the trailer too?
Beautiful work. If you sell these items then where? If you don't then would love to see your display of all your work.
Since you use powder coat. You got mt attention for future videos
Loved the true colors and work! Are you going to do the little trailer also? Big brother moving truck wants to know!
Great job but would you please try and put the stickers on straight lol.
Built Ford Tough! 👍
Is the trailer next?
Excellent restoration right up to the end where you slapped the decals on without aligning them. You went 99%. Go 100% next time!
Brilliance.
Ahh, NYLINT and TONKA; two of a kind, back in the 70s
BUDDY-L Made good toys TOO!
Never heard of Nylint toys, but I didn't have many toys when I was a kid even some of my toys came from our local garbage dumps.
I was thinking pressed-metal toys; the BUDDY-L toys I had were plastic
I still have both the truck and U-Haul trailer set that my dad brought home to me when I was 8. I never played with it, and have kept it clean and dry. It's still essentially brand new. The question is: Is it worth anything?
Frank from American Pickers will offer you $200 and sell it for $600, Rick from Pawnstars will offer you $3....best he can do
@@Gunslinger320 The set will continue to look great on my shelf with my other models. Thank you for responding!
I agree! "the 🐍"
UncleJoe actually the truck is probably worth about 800 according to ebay😜
You should have shown your dent removal repair on that left side of the cab of the truck
how did u get the powder coated paint to stick before putting it in the oven to cure
Excelent!! 👍💜

Great trucks! My father has a 1960 F250 with an 8 foot step side and 4 wheel drive. Some day I'd love to make one just like it out of parts trucks.
My 2yr old grandson watched your work with me tonight. He said 'wow' a few times Really enjoy your videos..
Thank you! Glad to hear the younger generations are enjoying it too!
