Painting Diecast Model Cars - '55 Chevrolet Pickup - Marble Paint Attempt. I wanted to try out a cool marble effect using plastic wrap and silver paint to create patterns, after applying candy paint on top you end up with a really cool effect. This is used mainly on larger scale paint projects so lets see what happens on something smaller.

Never thought I'd be a 42 yr old guy, watching another 40 yr old dude play with Matchbox cars...
I'm still in my 30's gramps!
Im 60 never gets old!
LOL, honestly I am in the same “boat” at 58yo. I enjoy your videos Diecast Resurrection. 😎☕️
@@DiecastResurrection I’m dying
I'm 61 and enjoy watching Austin at work!
This is why we missed you so much the Candy Master is back baby !!!!!!!!
Happy Thursday! Going for another car video tomorrow and then an episode of 3Dman Corner for this weekend if everything goes good! Hope you had a good week 🍺👍
I,am 70 yrs.old and I love it.it looks great 👍
Dude you haven't lost a thing. You're a paint wizard! B-e-a-utiful!
Beautiful work! If you want an alternative to the plastic wrap, try sponge painting. You can tear the sponge any way you want to give your project a lot of different veining. It will allow you to get into smaller tight spaces, as well...
That's what I was thinking. An old sponge, or a mangled new one, would work well. An old sponge brush would give you some nice marbling effects as long as the cells of the sponge are nice and large.
Austin my friend, if my memory serves me correctly, you said “if you make 100,000 subs” you will show your face. Not long to go now before we finally get to see you. Truck looks awesome, cheers from Australia.
I've been thinking about that... its gunna be so cringe!!! Probably wont happen, keep the mystery alive. We ARE doing a give-a-way we are preparing for already.
@@DiecastResurrection I agree, in my head your just a pair of talking hands.. Don’t need a face
@@DiecastResurrection Eh, not cringe, but also don't feel pressured to reveal your face. Tons of big TH-camrs like LockPickingLawyer have never done a face reveal
Love all the work that goes into the base coat, came out pimp as always. Love to hear the words "let's get it on the rotisserie"
We are getting spoiled with content! Loving the experimental painting techniques.
I’m 17 and I love watching your videos because they are intresting and you talk though what your doing
I was on a marble effect for a couple months recently. Love doing customs like this. Your 1/32 custom truck came out Freken sweeeeeeet!! I love the high gloss finish👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
That's how we did it in the 90's down here in Texas and yes we did full marble paint jobs on cars and trucks. That little truck came out sick bro. I friggin love it
That looks fantastic Ace . Definitely a custom 55 chevy truck now ! Great paintjob Austin
I like the effect a lot and would definitely be a fan of this combo on a real truck of some kind.
The wood bed really really sells the paint. I wasnt into it until you put it in.
This truck turned out Sweeeet. Love the paint technique you used . Need more customs done in this style . Thanks for sharing your awesome talent .
Paint job looks sweet
Looks like crushed velvet. You may not have gotten what you were looking for, but this would look crazy on a purple Pimpmobile, Or an orange/gold shaggin' wagon.
Top notch work!
Neat job.....be great to see it under daylight
Gahl dang that's purdy!
I have never seen a diecast vehicle with a marblised paint effect like that before, but that looks so very nice on that truck! :)
Very beautiful i love the color its my favorite color and a very nice truck
Hey DR🙂
Your time away did not diminish your painting skills at all and it did not take you long to start having fun again.
Great that you assembled her😁
Request
Would you consider lowering the camera a tad bit at the paint booth?
I see more of the upper portion of the booth than your car.
Take care Austin
Very nice marbling job, it's certainly different, perhaps instead of using cellophane, try doing it again with a fine tipped brush and swirling the paint like you did on the areas you couldn't reach.
This was the coolest paint job
"From drab to fan with nothing but mustard". -Austin, Diecast Resurrection
😀😂😀😂 I need that saying on a t-shirt, like now!!! This turned out amazing man, love the experimental painting tutorials, almost as much as your customs. Wicked paint dude!
Great stuff, thanks for sharing, and keep on keeping on!!
Wad up the saran wrap around an applicator stick, or use a sponge brush.
The truck came out good, but it comes off very dark on camera. Could try lightly misting the silver on before the marbling.
My favorite thing is playing with the metallic layer under candy. I'd like to see silver and gold marbled together.
Maybe a marbled and solid "two tone" job?
Beautiful. So glad your back. Take care
really glad you shined up the tires. its really well done man.
Way-cool effects! Glad it turned out so nice!!! It almost looks like patina...
Very cool technique, truck turned out awesome.Glad you are back.
This is the channel I never I knew I needed till it was gone... Thanks for bringing it back!!! Pure awesomeness!!!
Interesting method. Last time I did marble I laid down a black base, then sprayed color (silver in this case) heavy on the piece. Then crumpled up a plastic shopping bag and laid it over the piece. When removed, it left the marble effect. Similar to what you did, only instead of adding the marble effect with the seran wrap, I removed it with a bag. Just food for thought! Glad to see you back!
Magnificent .. or tealicious!
Love the paint on this truck!
Holy cow!!! This is freaking amazing!!! This is gorgeous!!!
Awesome looking truck
My inner child is loving this! Ever think of making a somewhat functional hydraulic system from 3D printing for low rider builds? Or maybe lift kits for certain vehicles even?
I didn’t see what it look like before and I really wasn’t into this until you started putting it together. Then I was thinking OK that looks nice!
I love the way this turned out. An alternative to the plastic wrap: a natural sponge.
Have you tried hydro dipping? You can get many colors and patterns. I’ve seen people do it on wheels and other car parts.
Holy, these last vids are killing it! Such great looking paint jobs. My wallet isn't as happy since I'm more and more leaning towards painting an electric guit of mine like this, you sold me on the marble effect.
Also GLU GLUGLGU GLUGLU
Fantastic paint effect and a great choice of colours for it.👍👌😁
I've mentioned this before, on different channels; teal has become the new black. Everyone's using it, not just on diecasts either. See how soon, after reading this, you see someone else using/wearing/eating teal.😂
this is an interesting way to do this, i usually use plastic wrap, but i crinkle it up then dip it in a pool of silver gold or whatever as.
i really like watching you do the different paint jobs i have learned so much watching this stuff
Nice build and great paint tutorial 👍👍👍
Looks awesome . Cant wait to try that . I have some Jada 1/32 scale trucks to use this method on. thanks for sharing . Great video.
Looks cool! almost like crushed velvet
Just keeps getting better. Awesome paint job 👍👍😊
Holy hell bud, that is an amazing paint job, beauty truck!
Great job 👍
Very Nice Looks like my old Acid Wash Jeans
Very sweet 😊 love it too very cool 😎 as always Lee
That looks wild
It's so beautiful
Badass paintjob! Congrats! Greetings from Athens Greece!
If I just saw the picture of the truck without words I word call this paint style "Smoke" eather way It's very Cool man.
Wrap cellophane with crinkles around a makeup sponge. Should give you more control. And since they are tear dropped, you can use the small point to get in hard to reach spots. Plus with it being foam you can apply different amounts of pressure to get various effects.
Sweet! Marble emerald.
Man I am so glad you are back to making videos. Hope you didn't have issues settling in to the new house. Truck looks freakin' awesome.
Welcome back bro.
PYIMP!!! That rake, though!!!
OMG!!! You’re so close of the 100K suscribers!!! Loved your work! Awesome painting style! Greets from Mexico!
Justified and Satisfied!
Always thought it'd be cool to take one of these 1/32 cars or trucks, and zinc plate it and do like a big custom "redline" style build
Looking very fly!
At this scale, honestly anything with fuzzy edges or texture will do. Crumbled napkin for example. You can also semi dry bush the randomness (has to be a bit heavier and wetter than normal dry brush to ad more range between the strongest and lighest). Maybe mess up the brush a bit.
Glad your back!
I feel stupid I've been watching you for little over a year and now just put my phone in landscape mode and now just noticed the little thumbs up in the bottom right hand corner 🤦♂️ as always great job and glad you are back
I've been watching longer than that, on a good-sized pc monitor, and I never saw the thumb until now.👍😂
TOTALLY WICKED ohhh thats a twisted truck i love it teal is my second fav color but seeing it done this way may put it at the top as always you hit another winning swing
Almost reminds me of the old bowling ball paint jobs..good times..thanks for the memories my friend, thanks for sharing, Stay safe and well out there & Happy Hunting 😁
Looks awesome. I want a full sized one...
Been catching up on all of you recent vids. Glad to see your back missed the custom builds.great work.🔥🔥🔥🔥💪✌
That is brilliant great skill mate👍.
We used to stretch wire-wool over the surface and then spray to get the marble effect.
I'd say really thin the silver down a lot with slow dry reducer for work time. Paint the wrap then apply it over the entire matchbox pushing it into the crevices. The wrap will make thin an thicker paint texture as you pull it off.
Simply amazing sir!
Dayum, that's sick!!!
You should try dipping a car. That’d be a cool experiment
Looks awesome!! Try doing panels on a lowrider that way!
This marble effect paint reminds of another paint effect I saw on finders and tank of a chopper. The painter used gold leaf foil on the paint job. If I remember right the painter set the gold leaf foil on top of wet paint and lightly used a brush to remove some of the gold leaf foil then clear coated over it to finish the paint job. It looked crazy good in the sun.
WoW, super job!
It's great seeing your vids again!
Cheers
Love the video!..can't wait to try this myself...very slick indeed sir!!👍
Nice job. When I learned about this method it was painting the part with the chrome and then using the wrap to pull it off.
Your way is a little faster and easier. Spray the wet coat of silver right on the item and use a plastic bag or plastic wrap to remove some.
Absolutely beautiful.
I love this! That paint is bad ass!
Like the way it ended will try it on a Hot Wheel.
Well, now I know what I am trying on my next custom. Hopefully it turns out as sweet as yours.
That's a really awesome effect
I think you need to have a conversation with your sound effects guy (he’s slacking 🤪). I love what you did with this one. I use createx too. I like your work and you humor! You keep it entertaining 👍🏻
Dycast resurrection You are such a pro😉👍👍👍👍
Thanks 😅🍺🍺
That is a fantastic technique, man.
Wow The Experiment Turned Out To Be Ah Badass Paint Job And I Really Like This One Awesome Job!!!!
Another bad ass creation
Cool project and Great job buddy 👍
Consider this pickup Resurrected!
looks like a bowling ball haha! very neat
Excellent... I use plastic garbage bag seems to work well also
That looks incredible!
That's friggin' awesome paint!
Very cool nice job
Maybe put the aluminum paint on with newspaper might give you the texture your looking for.But anyway great job love the videos.
I was doing this type of paint job on a harley. Instead of plastic rap I used a mop head. Tes a new one not a used mop lol. It came out awesome with a thicker roll in the marble look. An easier. Maybe you can find something like that to get in to little small areas. Just a suggestion
Wow that paint job is so awesome I love the marbleized effect you did and you picked the right color dude I enjoyed watching ma man
