Very cleaver by the dispatcher to ask the correct questions about "is someone in your house" and know the fear of not being able to tell "I need help" in the same way others do. "I can't make it to work" is a sign operators should realise is something entirely different. Very good by the operator to do that.

Awesome dispatcher! She didn’t skip a beat. I wonder if some would’ve told her that wasn’t her workplace and that she must have accidentally called 911.

I loved watching these when I was younger and I truly believe it kept me from harm and it has got me out of a bad situation once.
When I was 8 I went over to an elderly woman's house and she had her 35 year old son living with her.
He was so nice but I always knew something was off with him.
She was not home, but he said i could go and play with the baby goats because all the kids loved going to her house and feeding the baby goats and chickens.
Then there he was, he came in the barn locked the door.
Then tried to get me to pull down my pants.
I was scared to death but did not want him to know it.
I said what time is it?
    12:57 he said.
Oh no I told my mom I would be back at 1 and she said if I dont check in by 1 she was coming to get me and I would be grounded!
Let me go check in first and I should be back in 10 min.
I was blessed because he said
" ok hurry you dont want to get in trouble, remember to come straight back".
    "Ok I will"
Once I got far enough away that he couldn't see me i took off running.
I have no idea how I came up with that but I'm so glad that I did.

The dog only allows immediate family and a couple of friends in. Everybody else we either have to isolate her or they shouldn't be there and will get what's coming to them. She can be a liability and as can't leave our front door open but she's a huge comfort when I'm on my own. We took her in, she is grateful and will do anything to protect us. When my son was 5..the doorbell rang and a strange guy was asking for money for gas. I told him. Through the door that i didnt have any. I went back to the kitchen, i was cooking. My son comes and tells me that the guy was back. I asked him did he open the door. Yes..where is he? In the house! I was so scared. I had this crazy looking man in my living room! Just my son and I were home. But I pretended that my husband was upstairs..i yelled and asked him to come downstairs. I asked the guy to wait outside until my husband came downstairs. He then asked if i had any food. I just grabbed an apple and lunchable...got him out of my house! Yes homes with little kids need a high lock...kids just dont get it...they are innocent and dont understand how dangerous some people can get. It took my son until he was about 7 to fully understand. Now he is 12 and he only answer's the door for my secret knock. I also told him not to even ask who is it or look out of the curtain.

Her son was just a little boy. He didn't know any better. Kids around that age is still trying to learn to understand to never open a door for a stranger. Her the mom I do believe she should have yelled at him saying if you don't go away I will call the police instead of saying sorry I have to get ready for work. She did do a smart thing that first she tricked him when she told him that she was calling work. But she was really calling her friend. During she was pretending that she was still on the phone with her friend then when he was not looking she quietly dialed 911. Of course she couldn't tell them exactly what was going on so they did figuire that their was someone she didn't know is with her. Hung up because they knew he would have got suspicious that she was calling 911. She did do the right thing. Of course the lesson learn when you have kids make sure you have locks high enough so they won't reach them.

Thing is telling them you will call the police will not work with everyone. You put out your intent right then and there, he knows even if he runs you will call the police anyway. So if he is fearful enough, he will murder you and your child. Sometimes it's best to pretend to comply.

The poor poor lady had to call her place of work because the perpetrator was watching her as she dialled the numbers it was only when he turned away she managed to call the right people in a way by her work colleague coming to the apartment he saved her life cause she and her son were able to hide his car while they waited for the police to arrive.
Karen ( as they called her in the program) was also doing everything she could to protect her little boy you do anything when it comes to protecting your loved ones especially children or those who are less able to defend themselves.
I felt so scared for the little boy he must’ve been very frightened bless him and even if parents tell their children not to open the door to anyone at two years of age to about maybe your teens they don’t really understand the dangers. Me and my older brother were probably the same even if our parents told us off.
