What a good big sister. She totally protected her baby sister by sending her to hide while she called the police. As a baby sister myself, it just makes me love my big sisters even more, cuz i know they would have done the same for me, as they’ve done it in different situations all my life. Older syblings are such a blessing!!!!

It's actually a great idea to have dogs or other animals in your home. They can sense danger before it becomes apparent. And they are great judges of character. Beware of the people your animals react strongly to. Listening to them will save your life.
@ Dude this whole show is designed to show the effectiveness of the 911 system. If it didn't work then this show wouldn't have existed. The intruder didn't come to the home with a gun, he took the gun that the family already owned that was stored improperly. I'm not saying that guns cannot play a role in defending oneself, but keeping guns out in the open puts people at risk, especially in a home with children. Very rarely do intrusions happen with the goal of harming people, which is why they often occur during the day when people are not home. If no one was home, as the burglar in this case may have believed, he would have stolen the guns that were improperly stored and may have used them for other crimes or sold them to people who probably shouldn't be gun owners.

+Mark Trezise It depends on several variables. I was speaking of if he got parole. Some only have to serve half their term before they come up before a parole board. My cousin was the victim of sexual assault at 12 years old the guy got 20 years but most likely will be out before his full sentence term. I never spoke of prison terms only that parole might've played a role in him getting out sooner than 2024. Since he was a career criminal I doubt he's free.

I was held hostage in my bank & I didn't do anything to cause it. So this guy tries to break in the day before and the kids are left alone at home the next day with a criminal that has unfinished business at there house? Second, The 911 dispatcher remembers the call from the other day of the attempted break in with 2 kids home alone and she treats it as nothing and calls it out as something more minor than it is until he breaks in, then making it something serious? The behaviors of this episode are just wrong.
12 y/o I was by self at home, and a young lady (on her 20s) jumped the fence and got to my house door, she was with an older man. Never saw them before. An important thing to remember is always expect the unexpected. Never think it can't happen to you. Teach your children about the dangers and how to respond in any kind of situation. Sheltering them will not save them.
Good God, I've been watching this for over a minute, and already I'm seeing Red Flags, First Off Children Should Never, Ever Get a Gun, Because It can be replaced But Children can't, also Children should see a Stranger driving up to their house, Children should grab the telephone, go to the safest place, Closed The Door, Lock It, Lock The Windows, Put Anything behind the door, get down on the floor and call the police.
Jesus F'ING Christ, I've seen this for over an hour, and Immediately I'm seeing a lot of red flags, If Children See a Stranger coming to their house, they should quickly grab the telephone, go to the safest part of the house, like a bedroom, closed the door, lock and close all the windows, close the curtains, use something heavy to bar the door with, like a heavy tote full of stuff, etc. etc. get down on the floor and call the police, and whatever that a Stranger Needs can be replaced, but children can't be replaced.
I felt so bad for the girls one of them said he put the gun towards my head now that tragic and scary situation I hope there well now I know there grown now but still it’s something you don’t forget.
I'm afraid this is the outcome the criminals are hoping for: the victims being petrified by fear and afraid to walk about their own house. The parents should have apologized for not training their kids in proper firearm usage and/or self-defense tactics, and the whole family should have immediately received thorough instruction from a competent firearms instructor. Moreover, a firearms instructor can often provide training in numerous non-lethal defense tactics, for those who won't want to use firearms. Here's how it's suppose to work: You approach the door from an angle with an AR-15, Shotgun, and/or a sidearm, and immediately YELL out commands to the subjects to put their hands up NOW, BY YESTERDAY! Honestly, in many cases the second they see the AR-15, or even hear you yelling commands, they will pee their pants and run for the hills. If they don't follow your commands immediately (quick, fast and in a hurry!), and if the subjects are still banging at your door, make sure you have a good line of fire on the subject(s) and engage them until they fall to the ground. In the real world, sometimes the "line of fire" will include your neighbors house directly behind the suspects, so you have to be REALLY sure your bullets will go in the right place. Before you open fire, you need to be confident you are not dealing with a drunk idiot who doesn't genuinely intend to harm you. However, if you repatedly yell out commands while displaying your weapon and they ignore you and continue attempting to break in, well, that's their decision. Once the subject(s) fall to the ground, don't approach them and yell at them to NOT MOVE ONE MILLIMETER, until Law Enforcement arrive. Don't worry about their medical condition, at that point the scene isn't safe for ANYONE to provide medical attention to the subjects, because they haven't been searched for weapons and you don't have anyone covering you. It is preferable to call 911 as soon as possible, but only AFTER you have a good line of fire established. Tell the 911 call taker your address, and advise you have one or more subjects at gunpoint who are attempting to break your door down, and the subjects are refusing to follow your orders to show their hands and cease their felony activities (i.e. for which use of deadly force is permitted). Also advise the 911 operator and you will immediately put your firearms away AFTER the call taker tells you the officers have informed dispatch they are at or near the scene (i.e. and not 5 miles away). The officers may not want to actually approach the scene until you've confirmed to the dispatcher you've secured your firearms, and it will help them out if you can do this safely.
This would be the last time I would let my child stay home alone. I don't care how "mature" someone is at 13. If you cant stay out past 8pm, you sure as hell cant stay home alone. Its funny how "Sheriff" means different things in different places. In Philadelphia the only thing the Sheriff office does is transport Prisoners from Point A to Point B. They don't go on patrol calls. That's what the Police Department is for. The description of a Sheriff in Philadelphia is "The Sheriff provides basic court-related services such as transporting prisoners, providing courthouse security, and other duties with regard to service of process and summonses that are issued by county and state courts." it has no enforcement powers.
bartsimpson67543 I think it's crazy, how could any parent would leave their 10 and 13-year-old home alone, I would go out of my mind If I ever left my 10 and 13-year-old children home alone, without Adult Supervision or a Burglar alarm.
+bartsimpson67543 they said it turned out to be nothing so no one tried to come in. and for another the girls were old enough to stay by themselves. Steven Perez how old were you when you were staying at home alone when you were a kid?
+Janie Doe I was 13 when I was allowed to be home alone after school. It was only out of necessity, because both of my older sisters were in college, and both of my parents worked. But I still turned out fine. There were even times when I would have to make myself dinner, and even on occasion put myself to bed. Of course my parents made sure I knew how to stay safe, and required me to call them the moment I got off the bus, but still.
if u can teach ur kids to fish u can teach them how to shoot then nobody will be dumb enough to try that again especially out in the middle of nowhere there could be bears and coyote out there. Gun safety and where to shoot someone to mame not to kill is great protection
If someone breaks into my house I ain't aiming to maim. I'm going for body mass, and not stopping until every bullet is discharged. Nobody has any right to be my in my house!
Honestly I don't know Why Any Parent would ever leave their two children alone in the house, Also Whatever happened to Close the Bedroom door and Barred It With some stuff, Like a Dresser-Drawer Or anything else that's Hard, If that ever happened to my two children, I would tell them to grab the phone, go to their bedroom, closed the door, barred the dresser-drawer in the back of the door, and anything else too, then call 911, also those two young girls are pretty lucky, Because Heaven Only knows what might've happen.
Seriously? You don't think a parent should leave a 13 and 10 year old home alone? Most 13 year olds are babysitting by that age. I assume you only have little children, you have to give them some independence at some point. My children are 13, 11, and 8 and I will leave the older two home for a couple of hours while I run errands. I don't leave the 8 year old with them yet but there is nothing wrong leaving older kids home alone. This was a random occurrence. P.S. Stop capitalizing random words for no reason, it makes you look unintelligent.
My parents taught me and my sitter firearm safety from day one my dad would test us and leave his unloaded gun out and we would go and get him and say dad we found a gun but we didn't touch it, soon after he taught us how to shoot and load his 22 pistol and told us where it was and what to do if someone tried to break it, we get the phone turn on all the lights to try to scare him away while running to the bathroom with a lock and he told us to point that pistol at the door and if comes in that's not our parents or the cops to shoot them.
They left out the part where he put a gun to her head. And the first dispatcher, I hope he learned a lesson, to believe the caller, doubt them later. For now, believe them. I've called when they act like you are an annoyance, only to have them knock on my door the next day to ask for more information cuz it turned out the guy stole the truck. I wasn't feeling very excited to help them after they never sent a car to help me the night before because of the attitude of oh yeah sure. Calm down, just stay away from them.chuckling, I could tell they didn't believe me.
Thank God For Gun Cabinets. My Husband Jim, keeps his guns in the Gun Cabinet, and the key is always hidden too, also I'm still so proud about what that Girl had done, because Who knows what might've happen to her and her sister, They've could've been kidnapped, raped, or God Forbid Killed.
IF THIS HAPPENED IB 1990, THE GUY WILL LIKELY BE RELEASED IN A YEAR OR SO (2022). So, what will be do then? Of course, he may already be out on Parole. If he was say, 35 years old in 1990, today, he'd be 66.
Its crazy how much mature a 13 old girl is as opposed to a 13 year old boy. Lol she sounds like a 25 yr old. My son still sounds like he did when he was 5!! Lol hes 14!
Please don't leave your children under 10 home alone! and when you do leave them home alone, PLEASE have them take self defense courses beforehand and provide them with mace and a pocket knife and instruct them how to use them.
I bet this is how it played it out once he found the two girls. He probably yanked out the phone cord, put the gun to one of their heads and screamed at them to get into another room, then threatened to shoot them if they tried to escape, before attempting to escape the house, only to duck back in when he saw the cop car coming.
I wonder how many people in our state (Maine) have watched that episode as a child and had a door-to-door salesman knock on their doors and waited to see how the salespeople reacted to the fact that the door was locked and whether the salesmen would call them, leave a note, or break the door down. At least I know my foster mother's husband better than for him to break into the house of a customer much less attempt to rape or even kidnap a young girl. Remember, folks. If you have kids alone or with a friend in the house and a strange man claiming to be a salesman knocks on your door repeatedly and decides to break it down and gets your gun, he's no salesman. He's either a burglar or a predator. Imagine how the officers or the judge would've reacted had the intuder or his attorney claimed he was with the U.S Department of Corrections or the Department of Housing and that he was there to inspect the house. Since neither the girls or their parents knew him, I seriously doubt that a jury would believe his story.
It’s been 28 years since this happened so Crystal is 41 now and I’m sure she looks back on this day. There were questions going through my mind like- 1. Who was this man? 2. What did he want? & 3. Why did he choose this house out of any other? If I was in a situation like this, I’d be scarred for quite some time specially if he was just pounding on the door like crazy. I would hide in my parents bathroom and I wouldn’t say anything and I would put my dog Peanut in my father’s office. This happened on a Tuesday and 3 days before Christmas. After this happened, Crystal and Randi wouldn’t go outside when it gets dark and they won’t go down to the basement unless they’re together. While this was happening, Crystal was dressed but Randi was still in her nightgown. This happened 5 months before I moved to North Carolina, but I moved to Charlotte which is 1 hour from Lexington. I was still living in Fountain Hills, Arizona at the time.
And yelling that the police are on their way is the dumbest idea. He was armed even before he got the father's gun. They were out in the country so it's going to take time for the police to respond. If they hadn't called before yelling that out that would've been even worse he could've found them stabbed them and stole whatever he wanted to and the police would have two murders to solve on top of it all.
One girl grabs a couple shotgun shells but doent get the shotgun off the wall??..plus the mom leaving them home alone a day after they had a prowler..give me a break!..
Why didn't she grab the shotgun when she had the chance??? She could have legally defended herself but she chose not to. If I were in this situation and I had access to a shotgun, I would have grabbed it and if the intruder got in my line of fire, Tough!
I'd be very scared as well. Though I wouldn't be as scared if I had an effective way to protect myself. Luckily for me, I live a minute away from my town's police station. I personally don't own a firearm but I do have many other effective ways of defending myself if somebody was to break into my apartment...
AlwaysOnline6200 Also, it's probably her parents gun. She might not know how to use it, which is always more of a hazard than someone with the same gun pointing it at her. Her parents probably drilled it in her head that she never touch the gun.
Yeah I was thinking that as well. If you own a gun and you have kids, the worst mistake you'll make is telling your kids to stay away from the weapon. Not only does that raise their curiosity even more, they will not be able to defend themselves if their house is ever burglarized while they are home alone. I heard this story a few months ago about a girl who shot an intruder who broke into her house while her parents weren't home. Her mother taught her how to properly shoot the gun and that training paid off. The intruder didn't die but if she didn't have that gun, that intruder might have done something awful to her and even killed her.
***** What you're saying is, the kids have access to the gun and the shells but they were never taught how to use it properly? That's worse than all the scenarios.
What a good big sister. She totally protected her baby sister by sending her to hide while she called the police. As a baby sister myself, it just makes me love my big sisters even more, cuz i know they would have done the same for me, as they’ve done it in different situations all my life. What's a "civil unit"?
They serve civil process documents on people or undertake civil legal process duties like evictions.
I was wondering that too. Thanks for clarifying.
I know the name of the segment is "Business Suit Intruder" but I don't know the episode number...
504
Oh thank you :)
Never break into a house because you will end up getting your butt kicked
Enter mah house and you get an air strike to the face
Enter my house you will end up getting a 100 pound pitbull chasing you
+Ajaxthedoggy or Doggy Ajax if anybody enters my house they're gonna get killed by my German Shepherd xD
+SuperDog222 Lynn anyone enters my home they get 22 dogs after them
I have a young German Shepard he still has sharp teeth so don't mess with him!
My mom and I watch the show too the show does need too comeback on
how did you get ahold of this stuff? amazing!
An important thing to remember is always expect the unexpected. Never think it can't happen to you. Teach your children about the dangers and how to respond in any kind of situation. Sheltering them will not save them.
I will make sure he would get out here
Why didn't you take the gun on the wall?! If you can't shoot a shotgun at least take it away and hide it so that the crazy got won't shoot you!
Locking it is a bad idea, the invader will know exactly where you are then
The dad has a butt chin!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Jesus F'ING Christ, I've seen this for over an hour, and Immediately I'm seeing a lot of red flags, If Children See a Stranger coming to their house, they should quickly grab the telephone, go to the safest part of the house, like a bedroom, closed the door, lock and close all the windows, close the curtains, use something heavy to bar the door with, like a heavy tote full of stuff, etc. etc. get down on the floor and call the police, and whatever that a Stranger Needs can be replaced, but children can't be replaced.
+Janie Doe "call the police" YES. Don't call your parents, or your best friend, or anyone other than the police FIRST.
you got all the answers huh?
I felt so bad for the girls one of them said he put the gun towards my head now that tragic and scary situation I hope there well now I know there grown now but still it’s something you don’t forget.
The elderly police officer sounds like Barney Fife
yeah
The description of a Sheriff in Philadelphia is "The Sheriff provides basic court-related services such as transporting prisoners, providing courthouse security, and other duties with regard to service of process and summonses that are issued by county and state courts." it has no enforcement powers.
so the parents left them home alone the day after someone tried to come in. interesting...
bartsimpson67543 I think it's crazy, how could any parent would leave their 10 and 13-year-old home alone, I would go out of my mind If I ever left my 10 and 13-year-old children home alone, without Adult Supervision or a Burglar alarm.
bartsimpson67543 i know right
Janie Doe stupid parents i'll say
I was left home alone with my sister as a kid sometimes and that was 25 years ago
I know it's been said but why did she grab shotgun shells and not the shotgun? I would've blown his face off his skull if I were in her position.
well sometimes when your adrenaline is rushing you forget the most obvious things
send him 5400 years in prison
-Joe Senko ($)
he must have known they had gun out in the open
Imagine if one of the girls used the Angels with Filthy Souls clip from Home Alone
So this guy tries to break into the house. And he’s a career criminal who got out of prison that may? They should’ve not even let him out of prison.
Its crazy how much mature a 13 old girl is as opposed to a 13 year old boy. Lol she sounds like a 25 yr old. My son still sounds like he did when he was 5!! Lol hes 14!
Except a boy that age would have been mature enough to grab the shotgun, load it, and be ready to take out that lowlife creep!
Probably has a disability
YES! 32 years in prison!
He deserves every one of those years in prison!
He’ll be released in 2024
Please don't leave your children under 10 home alone! and when you do leave them home alone, PLEASE have them take self defense courses beforehand and provide them with mace and a pocket knife and instruct them how to use them.
They were teenagers
The 13 year old kid is now a 42 year old woman 👵
They should have had their dogs in the house instead of in cages.
Very true!!!
Since when do salesman break into homes?
Watching this Dec 22nd 2021.
It's funny that one daughter told her mom that the guy had a gun to her head. I never seen him do that in the video.
I was thinking the same thing
It’s been 28 years since this happened so Crystal is 41 now and I’m sure she looks back on this day. There were questions going through my mind like-
1. Who was this man?
2. What did he want? &
Stop asking
How old is Crystal and her sister now
Crystal is 42 and Randi 39
I want more video of rescue 911 full episodes
Wonder if yelling at him would have sent him on his way.
He would've heard young girls yelling it's doubtful that would've stopped him. That would've been the worst thing they could've done.
Or if yelling she called the police would have driven them off.
I meant before he broke in.
Wow mezipe64 he will come out till that year
Haha he got sententds to prison😂
they should have taken the 12 gauge
I am 12 and I am not aloud to stay home alone LOL
I am! ROFL
+orca lover WELL IM 10 AND I STAY HOME FOR HOURS WITH MY TWIN SISTER
Im 11 and I can
That's too bad. I started staying home alone by the time I was 10 at least.
Those doors can be easily broken !
One girl grabs a couple shotgun shells but doent get the shotgun off the wall??..plus the mom leaving them home alone a day after they had a prowler..give me a break!..
Who said they had an intruder the day before?
No sense having a firearm in home if they don’t know how to use it.
Why didn't she grab the shotgun when she had the chance??? She could have legally defended herself but she chose not to. If I were in this situation and I had access to a shotgun, I would have grabbed it and if the intruder got in my line of fire, Tough!
She was probably too scared to think of that.
This guy will be out in 4 5 years, if he hasn't already been released.
Means he got out recently 😮
