Alright. These trucks are probably the best thing to watch. I will tell all of you, I know each and everyone of the big rig pullers personally. Mark Riggle is my grandfather ( Something from Nothing). Pat Riggle is his nephew ( Black Thunder)The Lindsey's are very close to my family. We all know each other and they all are the best group of people to be around.

Yeah, they had their own special sort of badass. I miss those. European cabovers aren't the same. Kind of tame looking, and most of them only have a single drive axle. Hell with that!
Those Cummings 600s are 1150 cubic inch or 18.9L six cylinder monsters that are actually bigger than the V12 Detroit's at 852 cubic inchs or 14L. KTA600=full pull

Id guess the more power you make the taller gear you can run = more momentum , full pull
I don't think that makes any sense. You need RPMs to make power, and you can't make RPMs with tall gearing. TORQUE might be different.

@james bradley they twist under load because of the EXTREME TORQUE their hopped up engines are producing, that frame is good for reliably towing trailers 100,000 lbs and also the ability to bend is where they get their strength from, if it was rigid it would just snap

For you non-truckers on here that motor is a genset they were never intended for trucks they were generators and pump motors for oil field workers.

All detroit diesels have superchargers just to run, but they don't really make boost. Even the n/a ones have blowers
Been going here almost 41 years. Ran no less then 20 demi derbys over the years People that own this super cool, super friendly , family no drinking, let you camper park for free, and turned down walmarts offer to sell the land... Truck day fun rasier usually fathers day weekend. ALLLL day til after midnight. Sad some of the bad azz trucks aren't in this vid. that are there every year some local, some not. None of this in OZ, i lived there summer of 2011-12, from melborne to upper quensland. Aussie day car show in Brizzy was canceled due to rain,,UNTIL THE NExT PHAWKIN YEAR...wth? Bathhurst is badazz though...

wildfire was a beast but I bet it had an Eaton fuller manual in it because it didn't shift and an allison auto has a maximum towing capacity of 7000lbs because is a bus transmission not built for a truck the allison doesn't even have a low rage like I said it's a bus transmission in would much rather have a Eaton fuller

Judging by the way these lorry chassis twist under load, you might image they are made from some rubbish like cardboard! They should think about welding in one or two longitudinal lengths of big diameter thick-walled tubing, to take the torque and fix this simple problem.
I have seen built for business run many a time. Lol that truck is something to see.

First, an automatic has to shift gears too, unless it's a CVT. Second, if it "can only pull 7,000lbs" what the hell is it doing in a pull truck? Hell, a bus weighs more than 7,000lbs!
