    So cool to see the older version Brockasaurus. Had no idea it ran a 12V71 Detroit. Like seeing the old PA crew of Lindseys and Flocks also. Interesting to see Silver Bullet's old power plant. Hope to see old Tom Lindsey taking on those CAT powered semis again.

    At 11:40 watch the intake on the right side that is in the grill of the Kenworth. As he goes down the track it's slowly shuts closed and that shut him down. No air going in the motor, no power coming out. Those are a really good idea to stop a runaway diesel

      They put flappers on em to suffocate it if it runs away, damn Detroit’s one stuck rack and they take off

      @@deborahchesser7375 well that is one thing they are used for but in this case they are emergency shutoffs for multiple reasons. Every truck has to have one for If it breaks free of the sled there is a switch on the back that is pulled the flap closes and shuts them down.

    4:53 HE blew a connecting rod; which is why the exhaust, went from black to white (burning coolant, from broken engine block) at about 4:41 time. Too bad, as a previous cabover, had a V12 detroit, as well.

    • @deborahchesser7375
      @deborahchesser7375 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree with you. The European trucks are probably just as good as far as pulling but nothing is prettier than American trucks, especially the older conventional’s like the B model Mack, Peterbilt 359’s, Autocar’s and Brockways’s( Mack bought Brockways)and with basically any motor/transmission combo you wanted. Really neat stuff.

    • @EEPPULLINGVIDEOS
      @EEPPULLINGVIDEOS  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Measure to the front center of the buckbord on sled. Thats the point of hook for the chains attached to the sled. Now if lasers are used to measure distance, the laser card is usually above cab on the sled. They then do the math to calculate from the laser card locationto the front center of the buckboard

      Sled. They use laser distancing on the sled because the vehicles can have different length.

    • @DatBoyComp
      @DatBoyComp 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's Tom Lindsey's "Built For Business" truck. Tbf It sounded kinda odd on the best day because iirc it had 3 cyl going to one stack and 3 cyl going to the other stack which made for a unique sound. In the pull off the motor definitely wasn't happy and actually that unique exhaust setup actually shows you are right. If you look at the right stack when it starts running rough late in the pass you can actually see the exhaust coming out choppy if that makes sense (as if 2 pistons fire and send exhaust out and one piston isnt)
