Can we give Dave and Logan a award for the most beautiful landscape and views . Just gorgeous Dave and Logan looked in fine form walking along. Keep up the wonderful walks Dave I looked forward to them each time. Take care Dave and give Logan a big hug from me. He is such a good boy🌸
Loved the reference to the Askers Motel - back in 1975 it was where my husband-to-be took me for our first date! Nice video of another great walk, and thanks for the memories!!
Good evening Dave beautiful video so very enjoyable to watch I am going to try one of your walks in September at stourhead house and Gardens so something to look forward to we are staying in the local pub but only for research purposes if you know what I mean 😊.
Wowwww, what a gorgous walk!! 😍 I want to go to Dorset, and this video makes me want to go even more. Loved the old-timey village and the history bits about the smugglers were really interesting. Also, Logan is one handsome pupper 🐶
Only one stained glass window, but what a window, wow. Beautiful. And a lovely little village, so quiet and peaceful. My kind of place. And a lovely walk in a beautiful landscape. And great weather for a walk. 🙂
Thank You Dave and Logan! That was Fab..... So interesting ..... We loved it all.... And watching Logan go for a fast walk!😊 And a beautiful day for the wonderful views! Such big skies!😊
Really good to see you do this walk Dave i used to work at Askers motel and i was also one of the last people to see it before it went up, i left a week before it came down and i believe only the owner and myself were the last to be there its was a real shame it had a lot of history and charm. I remember doing the 29hr telethon behind the bar and went start to finish with the obvious breaks to get some food and coffee. Thankyou for showing us all the area it was great.
Another great video with great views. I was just about to congratulate you on not saying a church was dark, but in the very last scene in the church...
Love this walk Dave thanks to you and Logan. Really inspiring and interesting. Always wondered what was built on the hard standing beside the A35 . Fantastic video.
You certainly had the most glorious weather that day. Landscape such as that makes the heart lift. A chunk of my paternal ancestors lived in that region of Dorset. Thanks for sharing your walk with us Dave.
Hi dave ,which is your favourite dorset walk ..and have you ever heard of the golden triangle Somerset .....compton pauncefoot...Blackford... Corton deham ..Cadbury Castle...its so beautiful its worth a look loads of good walks ....
Hi John. We plan to film walks at both Cadbury Castle and Corton Denham / Sandford Orcas later on this year. As to which is my favourite Dorset walk ....well that is a tricky one. I do love the Jurassic Coast and a walk that starts and finishes at the Square & Compass pub at Worth Matravers, on a glorious sunny day, takes some beating!
I noticed Logan getting a wiggle on for the downhill section back to the pub you were visiting, for research purposes only of course. He must have known about the dog treats! Great views from Eggardon Hill probably because of it's high aspect. I was thinking however of rhe view from Golden Cap west when you actually mentioned it in the commentary. That is one of the great Dorset views too!
Great walk Dave, bet that gave the lungs and leg muscles a good workout! Did I spot a candidate for the pound at 8:39 or is it one of Dorset's domesticated giraffes? Must visit the Spyway again, been a few years since.
Back in the 1970s, we used to go to Askerswell road house on Saturday nights for drinks and discos.

Thank you Melissa. On a clear day, you can see for miles from the top of Eggardon Hill.

Love yer vids Dave...
Thank you Rodney & indeed thanks for watching.
We went to a couple of works Christmas Parties at Askers Roadhouse in the 60’s , we were bused from Dorchester and back again
I believe that it was a popular spot. Surprised there is still not something there today, considering it's location.
And another absolutely fantastic video! Thank you very much and keep up the good work!☺️
Thank you Marco and indeed thanks for watching.
As usual a great educational video 👍🏻
Thank you. :)

Oh yes, Golden Cap is a great spot for views.

Thank you. Yes, a tough one for the knees!
Was it this year dave ,?
Yes indeed - the film was made on 19th April 2024 (a rare "dry" day!).
Dorset is a magical place . One day I hope they get rid of the pylons .
It is a beautiful county for sure!
