MemSaver only works on unpacked textures. If you pack textures into your .blend file, it won't work. Heads up for those like myself who purchased the addon only to be told by the developers that they have no plans to address this issue.
@@DonaldDrennan they are unpacked by default. If you want to save (pack) all your textures into the blend instead of referencing them, then memsaver apparently won't work.
@@DonaldDrennan How so? There's no reason to unpack them if they're already packed. Once you unpack those textures you have to go through each material node in your .blend and redirect the PBR textures for each material to where you just unpacked them. This can be thousands of images to manually redirect, since a single PBR material contains typically 4-6 images for AO, normals, metalness, etc. Huge pain in the ass when you can instead just cram all those files in the blend. Then you also have to delete all those pics still left inside the .blend so that you don't have 2x the pictures now on your hard drive. The average user doesn't really need to pack though, this would be an issue for teams trying to collaborate.
I bought the lineart curve modifier and I'm not sure it's more performant than Grease pencil lineart modifier. In the demo scene playback got to about 10 - 15 FPS at best. It does have some really nice features tho like the hatching or lines inheriting vertex colors.
Hey, sorry for the miscommunication. I never promised high performance. Not sure where they came up with that. My tool definitely has some cool features that others do not, but performance is around the same if not even a bit lower once you enable specific features.
@@Tradigital I know you didn't and I'm not accusing you of anything if it sounded like that, just sharing my experience. Despite the FPS drop I think it is a high value product at least for learning purposes which was my main intent of use anyways. I was initially surprised about the performence but it makes me wonder whether the code could be better optimized/ geometry nodes aren't too well suited for this purpose yet / maybe both ? It is still incredibly interesting and I was very curious to study those nodes because of cours I was attempting something simmilar only to hit the limits of my knowledge very soon. Anyways I'm a big fan of your work and hope you'll keep on delivering :)
@@PCgmesforever yeah geometry nodes is still not very optimized, if we could get Houdini level optimization with procedural workflows then blender could be incredible, but at the moment there is definitely a line that stops people from doing any large scale projects. Oh, and no, I didn’t read your message as an accusation, just wanted to clear that up for you and future watchers of the video.
@@Tradigitalit looks amazing! I have used the Blender line art methods, but with yours, the lines have varied widths, look more hand drawn, and crosshatch shading is a big deal! It looks like you could make a convincing 2D animation from 3D characters.
I have been wanting to contact you for a long time, I wrote several times to the commercial email that you have here on TH-cam and I never knew if I got there, is there any other way? Thank you very much for your time!
SIGH!!! anybody just wanting to start in Blender and just end up watchng tons of cool videos on Blender and just downloading tons of free addons!!!!????? FFS!!!! I try to look for a simple tut vid and end up getting side tracked!!!!!
Although free content is great, I only made serious progress from buying structured in-depth tutorials on specific subjects. There are some people doing similarly in-depth courses on TH-cam, but TH-cam doesn't reward them for doing it because that approach doesn't feed their algorithm well (which is why so many people make dense 10-20 min videos to give you a good primer on one thing and then move on to another topic).

Damn... Thanks for the heads up
Couldn't you just unpack them?

@@PrintedB I mean unpack them for rendering with this add on. Theres no reason they have to stay packed.

On TH-cam try the >> Modeling in Blender for complete beginners by Joey Carlino.

Not everybody's a subscriber, not everybody watches every video, not everybody wishlists everything they see first time.

NO A FREE ADD ON !!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi, you can get that curvature graph and diagnostic shaders as GN asset (without scripted UI) for free.
