Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen reflects on the influence of Danish design in a short film by Vola

- Dezeen promotion: Danish tap manufacturer Vola has released a short film that explores the heritage of Danish design in the words of Norm Architects' founding partner Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen.
Titled Danish Design and the Future, the video is the first in a series of short films centred around architecture and design that have been launched on Vola's new web-based platform called On Design.
In the film, Bjerre-Poulsen shares his thoughts on the heritage of Danish design, as well as his own experience of growing up in Denmark and the ways in which design is embedded into the Danish culture.

This is a universe that offers a serene alternative to the way most people live. In our own living environments we are often inundated with mismatched furnishings, random use of color, poorly made details and shoddy construction. Topping everything off: really ugly commercial products with packaging that shows little or no graphic restraint. Most people who lack any idea of good design take a Victorian approach: fill up living spaces with as many things as possible. When you accomplish that, fill up the garage with more stuff.
