I think Mor is going to end up with Emerie... there were a few scenes where Emerie was clearly checking her out. Azriel with Gwyn, and Elain with Lucien.... I feel like its a little on the nose to make all the sisters end up with the 3 main guys, and I think it would be an interesting story line to see Elain's feeling develop for Lucien because she is clearly not feeling him right now. I do feel like this book had some pacing issues... but overall it was really good, and the overall vibe of the book made it a 5 for me.

She wears pastels and gardens and I really think developing developing friendship with Lucien first could turn into an amazing love story. But, the mating bond isn't required to accept. So maybe they won't after all. And im 1000% here for Mor and Emerie! Emerie was absolutely checking her.ouf in that library !!!
I remember Sarah J. Maas said in an interview that she wanted Azriel to have his own person. So Elian was never really an option for him. I don't know what she will do with Elian, but I can see her and Lucian working out the differences between them and ruling the Spring court together.

I'm glad you picked up on things that I missed! And I love your predictions about future books and romances. I did think that Nesta was going to use the harp to get Feyre's baby out. I believe that Cresent city and ACOTAR are the same place separated by time. There's things they talk about in Cresent City that are also referenced in ACOTAR.
Not sure about the time theory as crescent city is also an easter egg in Kingdom of Ash, that being said, it's possible you can move through time as well as worlds. Crescent city could be further evidence of cross-world travel with so many species in one place

Predication : Next book will likely explore Lucien and Elaine. With Azriel there to expand their plot (I.e. Him re-gifting the necklace 😭). Somehow this will push her towards Lucien. And then azriel will get his own book later. We still need to explore Lucien being Hellion’s son, Eris will probably take autumn court and his mother will be free to go to Hellion. Elaine and Lucien will link up to defeat Koschei somehow via her seer powers and his new found connections with the continents mortal realm characters.
This is so far my favorite SJM book but I havent read crescent city yet. I just love Nesta and Cassian so much and have since they were first introduced in the series.
I don’t like Rhys. But while I am sure not intentional, it did seem like Rhys would only accept Nesta now that she is “weaker” than him. I hate that she made Nesta get rid of her powers just like Amren. Also I didn’t care for the story ending with Feyre and the baby. Nesta accomplished a lot and it was just thrown to side for Feyre/Rhys. Also the way the Queen died was very quick and almost random. Aside from that though, I loved this book. Love Nesta! Love Cassian! Loved their relationship! Loved the friendship story. When Cassian took her on the hike, thought that was a wonderful scene

Ok I know I'm months late to this party but I just churned through this whole series in record time and I have THEORIES. 1. When SJM wrote that Nesta gave ONLY herself and Feyre Illyrian birth canals, I felt that was a door closing on the Azriel/Elain end game romance theory, since Elain wasn't changed as well. I'm putting my money on Elain/Lucien finally getting their romance story line. Plus, I love the whole Gwyn/Azriel pairing anyway. SJM seems to like the "I'm your rescuer and your lover" romance style, which works perfectly for them. 2. This one is a bit more complex but stick with me, this one also supports the Elain/Lucien pairing. First, it's always been made clear that Elain doesn't fit into the Night Court. She's all color and flowers, not black and stars. And in one of the previous books (can't remember which, they've blended together in my head) it was mentioned that when Rhys and his father went to the Spring Court to get revenge for his mother and sister's deaths, that both Tamlin and Rhys felt and knew immediately when their fathers died and the High Lordship was passed to them. AND it's been said over and over that Lucien doesn't have a home. Not in Autumn, not in Spring, not in Night. SO here's my theory. When Helion dies, the High Lordship will pass to Lucien (its been said that Helion doesn't have an heir, but it is suspected that Lucien is actually his son). This passing to Lucien is the moment that his lineage will be confirmed. He gets a home and, since I'm on the Elian/Lucien bandwagon, Elian will finally be in a court more suited to her - the Day Court. 3. This one is about Mor. It's been teased so many times that we don't know the whole Mor/Elis story. And that Elis actually isn't a horrible person, and that he might have actually done right by her in their horrible backstory. This theory might be a stretch, but I'm GOING THERE. I theorize that Elis knew all along that Mor prefers females and recognized that she slept with Cassian to really drive home the fact that she didn't want to be with Elis. So my theory is that there was some sort of mate bind between them, and since Elis knew that she prefers females and would go to any length to not be his bride, he went through with the horrible ordeal to somehow sever that bond or at least make it so they weren't bound by it, out of some twisted love for her. He's made comments about old magic and ancient history that others aren't aware of (the caverns under the three sister mountains, as an example) so maybe he found some old magic to sever the mating bond. The stake through the womb seems brutal enough to be the ticket... And Mor wouldn't tell anyone about it because for one thing, she is keeping her preference secret, and secondly, she probably wouldn't want anyone to know about the bond. We've seen the "I'm just acting like a bad guy but I'm really a good guy and I just do this for those I love" trope with Rhys, so I think it will come up again with Elis. And with all the comments about not knowing the truth about this situation, I think the truth will be the thing to finally break that "Elis is a Bad Guy" illusion. 4. Whatever that fourth Trove was - the old bone thing in Nesta's vision with Lanthys - will be found beneath Ramiel or somehow linked to the black stone at the top. But the third sister mountain that is suspected to have a cavern beneath it like the other two, so that's my bet. Maybe the black stone is just a doorway of some kind. Both the fourth Trove and cavern have vanished from memory. And everyone avoids Ramiel at all costs, and have for millenia. 5. Nesta will free the eigth Court that was trapped in the mountain with the Prison. Her and Cassian will take over that Court as High Lord and High Lady. If you include theory #2 - this has all three sisters ruling over their own Courts. The end.

I def loved this book, it was a 5 star but it kinda felt like a 750 page novella. I think maybe because it wrapped up so nicely and the next books won't follow these characters. Can't wait to see what's next though!
right now the only characters i can imagine dying in this series are elain or lucien from the main people... they are both well loved, but they haven't been around a whole lot, and if lucien dies then the mating bond is irrelevant and elain can find someone else, or if elain dies, then same for lucien, he can find someone he cares about + azriel would then be with gwyn? i'm not sure but i could see her doing this. at the same time everyone loves lucien and wants more of him so maybe not lol

I had the exact same feelings about this book. However, I’m still torn about the rating as I was missing the high fantasy in it, but also loved Nesta’s character development in this.
I've always got weirdly good vibes from Eris?? Like I've never LIKED him, but I've always found him super intriguing. I don't know where I got this information but I always figured this was going to be a series of standalones? I 100% want a Lucien book though because I love him so much and there's just never enough of him 😅 I was very much here for dominant/harsh Rhys in this book😂

Just finished! Maas did a great job with Nesta's PTSD and depression (I can relate to the contradictory thoughts it caused); I must confess that she really got on my nerves in the beginning. I loved that Cass made her a mix tape. I think you're right about Mor and Emerie being the next book, because Mor needs to have "the talk" with Az before he can move on. I think he deeply care but the yearning has become a habit for him. I see Gwyn being a better fit for him; Elain's been through trauma and suffered a deep depression, but it wasn't sustained torment that Gwyn survived and Az will need that understanding. And, Lucien... the guy deserves a break and I see Elain as being a balm for his soul. As far as Eris, some of his comments have made me wonder if he's pulling a Nightmare Court Rhys act to protect people (Mor, Lucien and his mother) and I think it's going to come out in Lucien's book (fingers-crossed!).
This whole book I hated how the inner circle treated Nesta this whole book how can you say you love her and want what’s best for her, and you were hoping she’s “snap out” of her phase but think horrible things about her and treat her like shit at every turn you get? Like as soon as she enters a room the air changes. Not once in this whole book do we hear anyone say other than Cassin say or ask if she’s okay, or if she needs anything... no and how can you have people “Step in” for five minutes and go back to Feyre and say she hasn’t made any progress or she’s no different when you don’t actually ask her anything? Or have a conversation with her, without malice or judgement? I think Sarah wrote this story they way she did for a reason and she knew as an author we could feel this way, as if so she did a wonderful job but this is one topic I haven’t herd anyone talk about and it drives me nuts, everyone’s just like I love hearing Rhys fro Nestas POV but not about what he and the inner circle are actually saying to and about her.... Also.... I love Nesta’s Quote about Az and Gwyn. “Your now it” or something like that... Makes me so happy :)

And we see this when Elaine and feyre talk about nesta's relationship with her mother their outlook, compared to her experience with her mother.... is completely different, and they don't know because they've never asked her . Everyone knows that Nesta doesn't just open up but none of them try to even be her friend or to try and look deeper other than Cassian. Again I think Sarah wrote it to feel this way like a he was her only Lifeline because he kind of was but nobody ever puts forth the effort to even try and even if you're putting up with someone for someone else's sake it kinda is shity of them to think such horrible things about her they just expect her to completely become a different person when none of them think there could be more going on that she needs to deal with.

valhalla(n)...valkyries... maybe mor and nesta can mend their bridges after all with these the norse mythology clues; you're my fave booktuber - i've picked up so many books from your channel and loved them all - next is either samantha shannon or brandon sanderson! I went into ACOSF thinking nessian would be the biggest drama couple but with the extra scenes and clues from the book I think it will be in the future books; finally, i also felt that rhys came across poorly in a few scenes and made me not like him as much haha
I loved and hated this book at the same time. Nesta is now one of my favorite characters and really liked the female friendships we got in here, I actually wanted more of them. But at times it got too repetitive for my taste and none of the threats felt real, not sure how to explain that last part :/
I don't know about Az and Gwyn... I wish he would fall in love with a new character or something. To me Gwyn is a little dull? I don't know! I love her as a friend of Nesta but as love interest not so much.
Really interesting! I didn’t quite like the way Sarah J Maas used the word ‘deserve’ like a 1000 times to say Nesta didn’t deserve things and Amren’s behavior. But overall I love Nesta’s journey and that she is happy 😭

And that Elis actually isn't a horrible person, and that he might have actually done right by her in their horrible backstory. This theory might be a stretch, but I'm GOING THERE. I theorize that Elis knew all along that Mor prefers females and recognized that she slept with Cassian to really drive home the fact that she didn't want to be with Elis. So my theory is that there was some sort of mate bind between them, and since Elis knew that she prefers females and would go to any length to not be his bride, he went through with the horrible ordeal to somehow sever that bond or at least make it so they weren't bound by it, out of some twisted love for her. He's made comments about old magic and ancient history that others aren't aware of (the caverns under the three sister mountains, as an example) so maybe he found some old magic to sever the mating bond. The stake through the womb seems brutal enough to be the ticket... And Mor wouldn't tell anyone about it because for one thing, she is keeping her preference secret, and secondly, she probably wouldn't want anyone to know about the bond. We've seen the "I'm just acting like a bad guy but I'm really a good guy and I just do this for those I love" trope with Rhys, so I think it will come up again with Elis. And with all the comments about not knowing the truth about this situation, I think the truth will be the thing to finally break that "Elis is a Bad Guy" illusion.
4. Whatever that fourth Trove was - the old bone thing in Nesta's vision with Lanthys - will be found beneath Ramiel or somehow linked to the black stone at the top. But the third sister mountain that is suspected to have a cavern beneath it like the other two, so that's my bet. Maybe the black stone is just a doorway of some kind. Both the fourth Trove and cavern have vanished from memory. And everyone avoids Ramiel at all costs, and have for millenia.
5. Nesta will free the eigth Court that was trapped in the mountain with the Prison. Her and Cassian will take over that Court as High Lord and High Lady. If you include theory #2 - this has all three sisters ruling over their own Courts.

I def loved this book, it was a 5 star but it kinda felt like a 750 page novella. I think maybe because it wrapped up so nicely and the next books won't follow these characters. Can't wait to see what's next though!
right now the only characters i can imagine dying in this series are elain or lucien from the main people... they are both well loved, but they haven't been around a whole lot, and if lucien dies then the mating bond is irrelevant and elain can find someone else, or if elain dies, then same for lucien, he can find someone he cares about + azriel would then be with gwyn? i'm not sure but i could see her doing this. at the same time everyone loves lucien and wants more of him so maybe not lol

I had the exact same feelings about this book. However, I’m still torn about the rating as I was missing the high fantasy in it, but also loved Nesta’s character development in this.
As unlikable as Rhys was from Nesta's perspective, he was an absolute ass in the bonus chapter with Azriel

Just finished! Maas did a great job with Nesta's PTSD and depression (I can relate to the contradictory thoughts it caused); I must confess that she really got on my nerves in the beginning. I loved that Cass made her a mix tape. I think you're right about Mor and Emerie being the next book, because Mor needs to have "the talk" with Az before he can move on. I think he deeply care but the yearning has become a habit for him. I see Gwyn being a better fit for him; Elain's been through trauma and suffered a deep depression, but it wasn't sustained torment that Gwyn survived and Az will need that understanding. And, Lucien... the guy deserves a break and I see Elain as being a balm for his soul. As far as Eris, some of his comments have made me wonder if he's pulling a Nightmare Court Rhys act to protect people (Mor, Lucien and his mother) and I think it's going to come out in Lucien's book (fingers-crossed!).
This whole book I hated how the inner circle treated Nesta this whole book how can you say you love her and want what’s best for her, and you were hoping she’s “snap out” of her phase but think horrible things about her and treat her like shit at every turn you get? Like as soon as she enters a room the air changes. Not once in this whole book do we hear anyone say other than Cassin say or ask if she’s okay, or if she needs anything... no and how can you have people “Step in” for five minutes and go back to Feyre and say she hasn’t made any progress or she’s no different when you don’t actually ask her anything? Or have a conversation with her, without malice or judgement? I think Sarah wrote this story they way she did for a reason and she knew as an author we could feel this way, as if so she did a wonderful job but this is one topic I haven’t herd anyone talk about and it drives me nuts, everyone’s just like I love hearing Rhys fro Nestas POV but not about what he and the inner circle are actually saying to and about her....

tbh it's not something I really thought about because while they were treating them awfully, she kind of deserved it. I don't think she's been nice to any of them aside from Amren even once since they've met her. She made it clear she doesn't like them and would rather be anywhere else even when they were nothing but nice to her and going out of their way to help them out so I feel like by the time we get to ACOSF they're done with her and are only tolerating her because of Feyre

And they all just expect her to be okay out of no where... idk I understand there's a lot of history with her not being the nicest person but nobody ever thinks of why. And we see this when Elaine and feyre talk about nesta's relationship with her mother their outlook, compared to her experience with her mother.... is completely different, and they don't know because they've never asked her . Everyone knows that Nesta doesn't just open up but none of them try to even be her friend or to try and look deeper other than Cassian. Again I think Sarah wrote it to feel this way like a he was her only Lifeline because he kind of was but nobody ever puts forth the effort to even try and even if you're putting up with someone for someone else's sake it kinda is shity of them to think such horrible things about her they just expect her to completely become a different person when none of them think there could be more going on that she needs to deal with.
I really wanted Elain and Azriel before but now after this book, I 100% ship Az with Gywn. I got such tension vibes and the scene where Az watches Gwyn cut the ribbon was amazing. Also, he's the one who rescued her from that horrendous night and that coukd be something to develop further into.
Plus, I have always gotten the vibe that Elaine doesn't belong in thr night Court. She wears pastels and gardens and I really think developing developing friendship with Lucien first could turn into an amazing love story.
But, the mating bond isn't required to accept. So maybe they won't after all.
And im 1000% here for Mor and Emerie! Emerie was absolutely checking her.ouf in that library !!!

I went into ACOSF thinking nessian would be the biggest drama couple but with the extra scenes and clues from the book I think it will be in the future books; finally, i also felt that rhys came across poorly in a few scenes and made me not like him as much haha
I loved and hated this book at the same time. Nesta is now one of my favorite characters and really liked the female friendships we got in here, I actually wanted more of them. But at times it got too repetitive for my taste and none of the threats felt real, not sure how to explain that last part :/
