    I own the 1860 Original Iron Frame in 44-40. It is now a fantastic paper weight. I can't find cartridges for it anywhere. Perhaps Mr. Imperato could persuade manufacturers to make more for his customers. I miss taking my Henry to the range and getting all the envious looks. Let me amend this comment. Unscrupulous hoarders are selling 44-40 for $3 + per round. I refuse to pay $150 or more for a box of 50. These are not FMJ rounds. Just lead flat nose. Gouging ammo should be looked down upon.

      Thanks for the feedback! This first video is basically just an introduction to the Henry Original. There will be MANY more videos on this rifle that will go into more detail, which will be the case for all of our models. Cleaning, sighting adjustments, shooting tips, detailed reviews, etc. are all in the works. We're just getting started!

    I have this in the iron frame version. Just like plinkster exhibited in this video, they are very accurate rifles. I wouldn't consider myself on par with him and I'm able to hit a 6 inch plate at 50 yards with ease with the sights on this gun. Jamison 44-40 is my favorite ammo to use when target shooting, but all ammo has fed well for me so far (Winchester 225 g and 200 g, Hornady, and Ultramax). Great guns, instant classics.

    Great Video! Mr. .22 Plinkster makes a great spokesman for Henry! I'm sensing some new high quality cameras came as part of the package! Good Audio. Hi Def. Hmmn, Looks like .22 Plinkster's Range so I assume, you get to continue to work from your new home! Awesome, Let's see more! Henry Videos and .22 Plinkster videos. I do agree with another comment made, I would like to know a little more about the rifle or the caliber when doing a video on a specific rifle. I'm eyeing a used Henry H010 45-70 right now...

    Love that loading style with the visible open tube and follower you can see moving. Any chance we'll ever see that on a Golden Boy or Big Boy?

    • @HenryUSA
      @HenryUSA  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably not. It's a very unique loading method, but it has its drawbacks. During the Civil War soldiers that were lucky enough to carry a Henry had issues with getting dirt in the magazine slot, which would mess up the spring & follower. Probably going to stick with the more modern version of the tube mag we have now since both the Golden Boy and Big Boy are more modern rifles.

    I have a question for you Henry rifles, is the original Henry every going to be released with different chamberings in the future such as .357 magnum or .44 magnum? I know there is a value to having the 44-40 chambering however I have heard from a few people and myself included wouldn't mind having an original Henry and being able to use a more common and economical cartridge. Secondly have you thought of dabbling with the idea of a lever action shotgun? , I know I've seen a bit of a surge in popularity in particular with new 12 gauge lever gun offerings such as the one from Adler. Thank you I look forward to seeing more videos and hearing your input!

    Why did you guys put a lever latch on the iron frame model ? the iron frame had no lever latch , just like the early brass frames ( the italians got that one right ).
    The other noticeable error is in the profile of the stock comb ( there the italians also got it wrong )

    Henry needs to chamber a lever gun in .327 Fed Mag that will also shoot the .32 H&R Mag and the .32 S&W long. .327 Fed mag has a big following and more and more people are catching on the the varieties of ammo available for the .327 Fed Mag and the under rated capabilities of it.

    I think it would be nice if Henry would develop a rifle that loads from the side like a Marlin. I like Henry Rifles, but I don't like the way they load and that is the main reason I have never purchased one. I have an older Marlin that I love and would like to get a Henry as well.

    I am a big fan of Henry and own 5 Henry rifles. I think you’d are the best lever brand out there. but I just can’t get past the fact yous want 2500 dollars for this rifle. Even if I could afford it I wouldn’t want to take it hunting because I would be afraid of damaging it. I am sure it is expensive to manufacture but I can get a Uberti for half that. Unfortunately that will be the route I am going to go

  • @earlgateman3755

    It's too bad they don't polish them in a more professional way so the barrel flat edges remain sharply defined, You can also see rounding of edges on the receivers. Less heavy leaning on the buffers and a little more care would make a huge difference. I also don't care for the recessed serial number on these or the Big Boys, you feel it in the grip.
