My first Henry I got when I was 19. It was left to me by my grandfather after he had passed, and for the years prior he always told me that it would be mine once that time came. The moment I got it home, took a box of 50 rounds out with it and it was just so nice to be able to shoot something that he would shoot at squirrels at least 2-3 times a month, and it always reminds me of him and all the things he did with my dad and I. Absolutely amazing and extremely sentimental rifle
Sorry to hear about your pap.. I'm sure he's looking down smiling especially when you are shooting his Henry! Hand down firearms are the BEST! NO sell ever.. and I believe that you should cherish it and keep it the same!
Have a .22 semi, a 12 gauge shot gun and a bolt action rifle, nothing special. Several weeks ago, I was surprised by my wife and kids(18 and 20 years old) coming home from work, they knew I was kind of fond of lever action rifles. Son comes out of his bedroom, hands me this Henry Big Boy 45 colt, I thought it was some kind of toy or BB gun, took me a few moments to realize it was the real thing. I was stunned at how freaking beautiful this rifle is, I now own an all American made cowboy gun. This thing is not only one of the most beautiful guns ever made in my opinion, but it's smooth, that action is smooth as butter......Greetings from Germany, and yes Guns are legal here.
Just purchased my first Henry, H024-4570. I haven’t shot it yet, but I must say that it is undoubtedly the most beautiful rifle I have ever seen and it handles exceptionally well. I love it!!
Dave, you are the consummate perfect host.....you ask wonderful questions, allow your guest to answer....then you CORRECTLY answer (in summation) what he tried to say. LOVE you as the host of Henry TV....and never miss a single episode of 22Plinkster! 👍👏😊
CHONCHINATOR.9000 I'm getting some Golden Boys for my 10 & 12 year old boys this Christmas. My 19 year old gets a 30-30 All Weather. I'm certain they will like it.
While I would never want a .17 rimfire magnum, I bought the high comb checkered stock and fore-end for it and it bolted right on my H001 without any problem. The fancy wood stock will not fit the H001 because it is made for an octagon barrel, so it is perfect for the H001T Henry is so good that I own 6 of their lever guns.
Looks ike a great store. Thanks to Plinkster I'm a huge .22 fan so my first Henry was the .22lr version. But I have my eye on that All Weather in a big bore as number 2!
It was February 2019 that I got my first Henry Big Boy series in .44 mag. Put 100 rounds in it already and put on a scope. I know, I know; "Don't put a scope on it." Well my eye sight isn't what it used to be.
I just picked up my first Henry.. kinda started off back in January! I went into a few gun shops browsing.. and thought.. boy my grandkids would love a Henry 22! Wink wink 😜 I handled the carbine the standard and the frontier.. settled on the frontier.. so I thought 🤔 Went to pick it up in March and seen a Henry Big Boy carbine chambered in 357/38. Let me see that rifle please 🥺 Well.. I ended up buying the 357/38.. but you know what? My grandsons birthday is in June.. so I'll go back for the 22! I know he'll love it as much as I love mine ❤️
I own two. .44 mag big boy in 20 inch steel receiver, and the 16 inch brass receiver same caliber. I wouldn't take anything for them. And as far as the complaint about it not having a loading gate .... it's the easiest gun to load with the tube you've ever experienced. And unloading ... is the easiest safest method you'll ever try as well. Doesn't bother me a bit. Smoothest action you'll experience. My father loved mine so much, he bought the 20 inch in .357. It's the Cadillac of lever actions as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure some of the older Marlins and Winchesters are beautiful weapons and work great, but I love Henry's!!!! Soon as I'm financially able, there'll be more added to the family.
Back in the sixties I went to the drive-in to watch a cowboy double feature with my family. That's when I saw Tiny Lister Sr holding a Henry rifle. He said to the bad guy...."have you ever seen what a Henry rifle can do in the hands of a man who knows how to use it?" The bad guy looked real worried as he backed off. I fell instantly in love. The Henry rifle was my first crush, and I was only about 8 years old. It would take nearly 50 years to make my dream come true. I recently purchased a gorgeous Henry Big Boy .44 mag carbine with the big lever. The stock would make you drool like a baby. If I had treated my ex wife with as much love and affection I would probably still be married. I have my eyes on several more Henry's. I am thrilled that Henry has a rifle for every budget. I'm pretty sure that my next Henry is going to be that .22 Mag Golden Boy. After that I'm going to have to have a custom engraved Henry. You won't find a better rifle at twice the price.
I also have the 44 mag big boy and love it,accurate right out of the box.Decided i needed more power and purchased the 45-70.Never been happier with a rifle in my life!I will purchase more henrys and i am sure i will never be dissapointed.
So hard to find right now. But after a year did catch a lead on an Original at an amazing price and snapped it up. Now for a .45-70... Another year wait?
My son has the Eagle Scout commerative. Turns heads at every range. People come over. Expensive! He has the custom serial number, last name and birthdate!
Thanks for the discussion about choosing a lever action which is a great shooting experience.....have the Henry 45-70 and the Golden Boy and love shooting both....22Plinkster how about a video from you on the Henry 45-70 as you have done on the 22LRs....Thanks for your work.
I placed an order for the Big boy case hardened 357 mag carbine 3 weeks ago, my local FFL dealer said I may have a long wait, but wouldn't narrow it down in terms of years or months.
Henry, you need to make a 9mm, gate loading carbine. With a tube that extends to end of barrel for increased capacity. That would be my ideal bug out/ survival gun. Please make!
I bought my daughter a Henry .22 youth model, to be her first rifle when she gets older (she's about to be 4 yes old). Currently, it's my "truck gun". It will be replaced by a Taurus/Rossi Circuit Judge, once I get it off layaway
So is the color case hardened .357 big boy stronger than the brass and silver .357 big boys? Also, I heard that the steel receivers are harder and more expensive to maintain. I am interested in buying the .357 big boy carbine in the case color hardened. I would've went for the Silver, but unsure about the receivers strength, I want the checkering, the octagon barreled it looks like to many colors. Wish though the one I want had the pistol style grip. Seems more of a natural way to hold the rifle.
Anymore they make such cheap rifles that your better off not getting a Henry. Do yourself a favor and buy a browning or marlin, hell even a ithaca would be better.
@@1ifbyland2ifbysea Get in touch with Henry and they will repair or replace it. Henry is anything but cheap, and I mean 'cheap' here as in bad quality. Because when it comes to actual finances, their firearms are really cheap compared to other manufacturers. And that's a good thing.
I have the all weather 44mag .. great gun but be ready for some kick.. I'm not a wuss but this gun hold 10 rounds and at the rang after all ten round back to back I switch out to something more comfortable
I have the henry big boy in 357 in brass then I got the henry big boy carbine in steel also 357 then I went to a pawn shop and bought two henry brass in .22. One of them was made in New York and the other in New Jersey what is that all about ?
I saved up and finally got me a henry h001 22lr and honestly kind of dissapointed with it. I have a couple cheap lever action 22s never jammed on me, the henry has a few times. I take care of my guns and I noticed the finish on my henry has started to chip? Not good
Thank you for setting expectations for new firearm customers. I have a couple of lever action centerfire rifles and love Henry firearms. I recently saw Plinkster's introduction to the Henry Single Shot rifles and couldn't resist. I purchased one in 308. Overall quality and fit/finish are exceptional. It's a great value as well.
Hi ... just got my first Henry ( 45 Colt )...... Love shooting it ....... as with all my guns I've bought over the past 55 years, I need to understand everything about how they work..... I am looking for detail on how the lever and carrier interact specifically the tube load interface..... I emailed Henry but the response was very superficial. Can't find a thing on web .... can you point me to a source. Thank Yoou
I have a suggestion to pass on to Henry Arms make a scope base that doesn’t sit as high as the ones they currently offer, just grind the bottom down and make it flat it would make a lot of people happy if they could accommodate those of us that like a lower scope or be able to use a see through mount, I’ve sent a number of emails asking the company if they were going to build them like that at some point the answer is always the same, in there opinion there base is best, which doesn’t matter to me I just know what I want and they don’t make what I want so until then I’m not really a satisfied Henry customer, actually considering selling mine and trading it for an old marlin
Exactly ! In 22 mag. When they make it, I’ll buy it and that will be my first Henry rifle. I’m 63 so I guess I’ll probably never own a Henry (aluminum receiver)
My first firearm wasn’t a firearm, it was a flintlock trade rifle, then I worked my way up through historical repops. I love them all the way up to my Henry bb357. So I evolved through firearms from a historical perspective.
I'm still holding out for Henry to make a steel frame straight grip 22" barrel in 45/70. Full length 5 shot magazine would be nice too though not a deal breaker. I LOVE the lines of their case hardened 30/30 H009CC, just do the same in 45/70 and it's SOLD! Not a fan of brass frame (H010B), too shiny for in the field. I'd be happy with a blued steel frame too. Love the 45/70, and love a straight grip. I guess I'm just an old dog with old tastes, no new tricks.
You can also go to the Henry Web site and send the President a message giving him the store the gun you want and their Federal License number and they will take action
I live in the Uk, where gun control is extremely tight. I have now been waiting six months for a firearms licence for a .22 Fx air rife. I am intrested in in applying to purchase a .22 mag, .22 17 HMR, or .22 LR Henry rifle to hunt small game and pest control. I am 6 feet tall and a big guy, can you please suggest a Henry that might suit my needs. I tend to like a longer butt and gun.
The useless crossbolt "safety" on the Marlins and Winchester is an example of them bending over for the democrats. The older lever guns and the current Henry .22s use the tried and true half cock safety, and the centerfire Henrys use a transfer bar.
Thanks very much for choosing to own a Henry! These rifles actually do have a safety, but it's not external. Our centerfire rifles use a transfer bar safety, which you can read more about here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safety_(firearms)#Transfer_bar The rimfire rifles use a half-cock safety.
Bought my Frontier a week ago today. I wish my local dealer was more helpful, but I did a ton of research first. What a great little gun! I can see a 45-70 in my future someday for bear and moose here up north. Ordered a catalog for the second time. I think the first one I ordered must have gotten intercepted by a bison or something... Keep the great videos coming!
Hopefully this video will provide some inspiration to dealers around the country to be more helpful. Thanks for choosing to own a Henry rifle though. We certainly appreciate your support, and we're very happy to hear that you are enjoying the rifle.
I'm looking for a lever action rifle, but as a leftie I'm worried about brass hitting me in the face! Does anyone know if any of these Henrys will work for us left handed kooks?
My first Henry I got when I was 19. It was left to me by my grandfather after he had passed, and for the years prior he always told me that it would be mine once that time came. First rifle I bought is the 30-30 Goldenboy. Love my Henry. Can't wait to pick up a Mare's Leg.
My first Henry is H010 45-70. It has been beautiful experience in every way.
I bought the Big Boy 357 a couple of weeks ago and was so impressed with it I ordered the 30-30 wildlife edition to add to my collection
I got the 44 mag case harden steel, would love to have the 357 have you shot it yet and how do you like it? Thanks have a great day
Bought it where? I can't find a 357 anywhere I don't have to wait 7 months for.
Many years ago shooting 22s (henrys) . I still remember that experience. That why I bought a 357/38 henry.

I purchased my first Henry when I retired from the army in 2011. I am very impressed and pleased with my rifles.

Got my first Henry today I got the 22 mag classic I haven't even shot it and I love it all
Haha. I recently purchased a Henery 22 mag 2 weeks ago ! Been in my safe since. But I still love it ! Lol
I own the Henry 22LR and absolutely love it. So much I’m going all in for a few more. 😂The quality is unsurpassed on anything I’ve seen.
Count the "You know" as a drinking game!

I am looking to get one carbine in silver finish, octagonal barrel, large lever loop
I want a side gate Henry so bad, but so espensive. 😭
None finer PERIOD! The 45-70 AW is with out a doubt the finest rifle I own.
Duuuuudddee...Henry TV!! Awesome. In the market for the All Weather 45-70.
What’s a better multipurpose to practice with a 3030 or a 4570 government thank you
My kids have the Henry mini bolt. I have the big boy 357.
Own a big boy large loop carbine in .357/.38. Great shooter.
Hello, I’m a owner of the Henry H004 Golden Boy and I love it.
just got my "evil roy" frontier carbine my second Henry thanks for making such great guns
I'm buying a Henry Big Boy in 357 magnum to go with my SW 686, as soon as I get a rifle cabinet to put it in.
Smith & Wesson? A lever action Henry Big Boy deserves a single action Ruger Blackhawk to go with it.
I bought my daughter a Henry .22 youth model, to be her first rifle when she gets older (she's about to be 4 yes old).
Currently, it's my "truck gun". It will be replaced by a Taurus/Rossi Circuit Judge, once I get it off layaway

Please make a 45-70, top eject. pistol grip, crescent butt, 28" or 30" half octagon barrel, would settle for a 357/38

I really enjoy my .44 magnum Big Boy. I'll be looking for a .45-70 at the local gun show, tomorrow.
my dream gun
So it’s 2 years later. How’s that 45-70 doing?
a marlin 336 is only a little over 6 lbs, not too heavy.
im 14 years old im shooting a hatsan 105x torpedo might not be the best rifle but i love it .when i become old enough i want to buy an henry rifle

What is the price on a Henry .308 long shooter lever action rifle???

The useless crossbolt "safety" on the Marlins and Winchester is an example of them bending over for the democrats. The older lever guns and the current Henry .22s use the tried and true half cock safety, and the centerfire Henrys use a transfer bar.
I want to get 3 Henry rifles, the 45-70, .308 and .22
I have a new Henry 41 cal. lever action. I would like to know how come they don' have a saftie on it
Thanks very much for choosing to own a Henry! These rifles actually do have a safety, but it's not external. Our centerfire rifles use a transfer bar safety, which you can read more about here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safety_(firearms)#Transfer_bar
The rimfire rifles use a half-cock safety.
When is Henry gonna start making us a .357 magnum pump action rifle?
I just got a .22 lr and the thing is crooked.... These things are not all made the same
I would like to know more about the brass or not brass on the Henry. I think some may actually be a brass and others not what is right
It's called 'Brasslite'. It is a brass alloy, an improvement - the beauty and weather resistance of brass but stronger and less prone to tarnishing.
Aluminum
Hi I am 13 and getting my 45-70 soon
the original henrys, winchester added the loading gate and the hanguard and then changed the name to winchester yellow boy ???
geezerp1982 pretty much. They even had what they called transitional Henry's that had a loading gate before the Winchester 1866 was released
I can't STAND it! I love my Henry and I want more! You put me into sensory overload!
Shopping for a Henry:
Me: Hey, you got any Henry’s in stock?
Store owner: Nope
Me: Dang
What Henry should I buy for target shooting but not the 22
I never heard of a lever action target rifle. You want a bolt action or a single shot.
Henry needs a 500 S&W lever gun
I'm looking for a lever action rifle, but as a leftie I'm worried about brass hitting me in the face! Does anyone know if any of these Henrys will work for us left handed kooks?
Good question.
They make left handed rifles, and bolt action rifles tend to be better from what I understand, but I'm not an expert :)
Im wanting to know pricing but that guy never did get tithe question
Once I get my Henry I'm going to that guy I might search the city but I'll find him
Will Henry ever make a .357 pump action rifle?
