A day late and a dollar short as usual! Progress being made and looking good, you gotta love it when the sum total of the offcuts is minimal, and what is left over can always go in the "come in handy" bin 🤣
Frame looks great hope it's not staying purple. As a apprentice I was always told to keep all off cuts till build is finished you never know what you might need ,nice to see someone working the same way
It's an awesome idea.to keep off cuts... I've jumped I'm the scrap vin loads of times and come up trumps 😁👍 The frame.is DEFINITELY not staying purple either... why they did that I'll never know 😂🤣
Been subbed a while but don't really comment much but wow this channel gets better and better. Just got myself a lathe for making spacers and mounts ect ect can't wait to learn on it. I must say your work is quality. 💯👍 p.s got a couple bandits I've been sorting for my dad and now the frames look awful after seeing yours 😭🤣
Welcome.to the party dude and thanks for watching. The lathe is going to rapidly become you favourite tool you own. There's not much you can't make with one and the learning side is really interesting and fun. Feel free to send over some pics of your builds and I'll happily stick them on a video matey 😁
The frame is looking awesome, I can see you in the future making more frames the same as it's now your stamp on it then either selling frames or complete bikes you will be loaded in money in no time at all awesome buddy loving it!!!. stay safe and stay strong!!
When you did the first side of the Frame , with that Dogleg by the Swingarm Mount , I did have a '' mmmmm '' Moment , it must have been the part of the old frame remaining throwing my Eye , now the other side is done looking good . All that Tube... Think you need a Bigger Engine ....
I know what you mean matey... the purple casts your eye a bit as well. To be fair, there's very little extra tubing and a few less big heavy inserts to the frame, so very little change really I don't think. I should have weighed it though as someone is bound to ask.... 🤣😂
Yeah, just trying out some different stuff as the comic book starts mess with some folks. I could be onto something here though, just do a different one each video 🤔
Thanks for getting back to me about it, I’m doing a bandit 600 my self and winging it abit 😂 but I’m enjoying it and most of all watching you for inspiration keep up the good work 👍
It's just a Clarke.set originally, but I did get another one (Easycut something or other). The Easycut one has lost all its teeth and cuts nothing, some I'm back on the Clarke one. The idea is when I knacker one, I'll replace it in the set with a much better one, so I'll have a look at Irwin next and get a 1.5" cutter 😁 Thanks for the suggestion matey 👍
I don’t want to be one of them guys. I’m just gonna ask it, though. Why do you want to remove the engine? Or make it easier? Your frame does look the dog’s danglers, and I am extremely jealous of your work and wish I could do all this! Haha. I’ve learnt loads about fabricating on your channel, brilliant stuff. I would just like to understand why you keep saying “take the engine out”? Haha. Have I missed that video of you saying why etc? I can understand if you’re gonna absolutely thrashed the shit out of it. Or just like to take things apart to clean during winter. I do that… haha Again, love the videos… this isn’t meant to be a sucky question! 😘
The biggest reason is that I hate the breakaway frame matey.... all that blobby welding which shouldn't really be dressed down as Mr Suzuki can't weld that well is nasty looking and a clean single.piece frame would be ice to look at. To make that do'able, I need to make a frame where the engine can be removed without the breakaway, hence the engine has to be removable... rubbish explanation, but you'll see once it's done.... Hopefully 😂🤣😅 Thanks.for watching Tom and for following along matey 👍
@@QuickBikes don’t get me wrong, I was just interested in knowing. I’m restoring my bike, on my channel. My friends keep asking why? I want to! Haha. I want to make it look brand new and in some ways different to the rest. So, I get you. It looks fantastic! I watch these videos as soon as! Like matts track bike engine and Craig’s gs. I hope one day, you use the frame jig to make a xr69 rep as people seem to use bandits as a base for one, but don’t really mod the frame! Haha
OK, I'm at 17:39, you're stirring your tea, and I'm shouting at the screen. Are you *absolutely sure* the real exhaust headers go straight out in a straight line before bending downwards? 'cause the way I'm seeing things, that hozirontal brace is liable to foul the exhausts.
I made some different headers, so yes there is a straight bit of tube before the bend. I'm not really going to know until it's out the jig, engine in so I can fit the real headers in the correct exhaust ports 😁
Looking very nice. Looking forward to seeing it all welded and dressed. Good stuff.
Cheers Ian, that's what I'm doing this week 👍

Thank you matey. I got lucky with the bends for sure. If I'd have bent them a bit more they wouldn't have worked out to be honest 😁

Awesome job, not sure if you’ve mentioned it already but what’s the digital protractor your using ?
Thank you matey. 😁

What brand of holesaw are you using Simon?
I could do with a decent hole saw too matey
I tend to use irwin but always on the lookout for something better
