My father is an airline pilot and the reason why they keep the cabin “warm” is because people tend to get sleepy more quickly and makes the flight overall more relax for the crew and passengers! Love the videos!
But the only time I've ever been on a flight that wasn't _freezing_ cold was in summer when the AC was broken and it was miserable until we could take off ...and then it was freezing again.

Some facts that are actually useful: 1) The flight out of London was late December/early January 2020. Other than that being before lockdown and covid stuff, you can get some pretty cheap flights around Christmas and new year, especially if you go after new year (because people usually visit family at christmas and then go back at/before new year, so holidays in early January aren't as common and therefore cheaper) 2) Some of the flights were bought with airmiles. For anyone who isn't a frequent flyer (myself included), you gain airmiles through expensive credit cards and booking flights, etc. When buying flights with airmiles, you have to pay taxes and fees, so you can't get a completely free flight. 3) Last minute flights (like the one to LAX in the video) can be risky, but an empty seat is lost revenue, so there can be some bargains. In this case, it sounds like the plan was to drive, and then there was a change of mind (presumably because of said cheap flight coming up. Curious how actually last minute it was...) 4) The answer to the title is $2700 plus a boatload of airmiles The one I'm curious about the most was the return flight from Seoul to London Stanstead. Obviously, that was via Dubai, and it's not clear in the video how long the stay in Dubai was. It was clearly longer than just a change of flights, so I guess it was booked as a proper layover. I'm never quite sure how to book those, but it would be nice to see places for longer than just waiting in an airport. In other words, very clickbait title with no good followup explanation on how to get the mentioned cheap flights either, but some nice footage of various places. If you can manage to get deals like this, I'm sure you can make some really good full videos on how you did it, rather than a brief overview for exactly one minute at the end of a video like this one.
Thanks so much for watching! And always happy to provide some more context/info: 1) BA F was taken in Feb. 2) Miles were earned through credit card sign ups, existing flights and friend/family referrals. Taxes/fees can be almost zero depending on where you depart. 3) SFO - LAX flight was booked the day before 4) 2/3 of the flights were cash bookings not miles redemptions. ICN - STN was booked as a F fare, I added as DXB - ICN in Y on the same booking to negate the hefty taxation. Spending 2 days in Dubai. Layovers are usually allowed for 36-48 hours depending on ticket. Have to disagree on the title being clickbait as I've not positioned this as as a "how to" guide. It's more a "what's it like to fly around the world in first class and this is how much it cost". If there's appetite to delve into the detail it's certainly something I could make but that what I use IG for as it's more interactive. Hope that helps answer some of your questions, and for taking the time on some challenging and well thought out feedback :)
I think a lot of people clock up loads of air miles if you're into it. People that don't either aren't interested or don't use the right credit cards or don't bother with the schemes. If you travel a lot then it's daft not to clock up air miles. If you're savvy you can get good deals. I think Will is what one would consider savvy! 😉 Before I had kids we clocked up thousands of air miles as we'd travel 5x a year at least, and would also use the right credit cards to maximise them. For work I'd travel an additional 6-8x per year. So it all mounts up. And expenses I'd use an air miles card, maybe a little cheeky but hey, it's all good! Even with kids and even with COVID and post COVID it's easy enough to clock them up. We flew to Australia earlier this month (we're flying back in a few days), and most of it was paid for by Air miles even for premium economy. You just need to plan and seek advice. I guess it depends on how important air travel and travel is to you. We're a multi national family so travel a lot hence why I put the effort into getting air miles and sign up to all the various airline clubs etc. I think it's a bit unfair to state "click bait" title.
You are SO much fun! And incredibly bright. Carpe that diem, son! Proud of you. Have done much of the same travel and isn't it fine? Nothing like a good hotel either. Appreciate your good work; it's nice to relive my experiences and plan future ones. Be well and KEEP FLYING -- propers from Alabama, US.
2/3 of the trip were actually cash bookings of which I highlighted in the breakdown at the end. EK F was booked with ICN as the originating airport with a multi class return (Y from DXB - ICN) which negates the higher F taxation. It's all about smart booking, and flying from airports with low fees etc so you can structure a ticket at an advantageous rate. Miles were indeed used on other sectors but earned through signing up to credit cards, referring family/friends etc and not by putting through £100k plus of spend. The key with all of this is flexibility. The deals and tricks are out there to fly these products at a hugely reduced rate you just have to hunt. I share lots of this in more detail on my IG (as you can see this does get quite complex and geeky). My DMs are always open so feel free to drop me a follow/message over there: will.luxurytravel

Aha true, although unfortunately I think Qatar Airways would have something to say about it 😂
Just awesome, no other way to describe it. Damn, I would loooovvveee to do that.
Lmao when u get 10mil just remember me that I was here before 12k (yes I never comment on videos)
I just starting watching a few days ago, now I can't turn away!
BA first is the best business class cabin in the skies
Qatar Airways entered the chat... 😅
one of the worst
LOL
LOL. might actually be the worst
what are you smoking? It's one of the worst, BA business and first class is horrible! Qatar business is 10x better than BA first haha
Just discovered your channel and I love your videos .Congratulations to you. Safe travels 😎
It would have helped if you had told us how many air miles you used as it would have given a more definitive cost but a great post
Check out his blog. It breaks it all down.
this was really awesome to watch, you earned another subscriber
"why are the beds always so hot in first class?"
Every designer who made first class: *TAKE THAT NOT TAKE THAT NOTE*
It's "write that down" not "take the not"
This video is AMAZING, it makes me miss my business class flight from JFK New York to Shanghai China to Denpasar Indonesia. It was only last year, wow have the times changed.
So glad you enjoyed it 😀 and yes I certainly am missing travel too in this capacity. I’m sure it will return in the not too distant future. Which airline did you fly to Bali? China Southern?
Trek Trendy I flew China Eastern, in one of their newer business class cabins.
Me: Watching this video
Him: It only costs £2700
Me: Searching online for first class flights like these finding out the same flights costs me £66000
How the F do you get first class flights for this cheap
Well even if you got them for £2,700. What about the food? The hotel? The taxis? If you get hurt for a hospital? Yea a lot more. Its not the flight to the pace that is normally expensive its the preperation for the place you are going to
Juanki yeah but a difference of £63300 means saving a lot. For food, hotel, etc.
Juanki someone is really bad at math
@@suryavir2598 ik lol thats why I got a doctors in veterinary medicine specialized in nutrition and surgery lol. I can't do math XD
@@juanki8350 66000 for the flight only
Wonderful yet again!
"I hopped in my complimentary S-Class"
Excuse me what?
😂 I know madness right - Emirates provide a chauffeur service when you arrive in Dubai
Got a good laugh at your Japan stop. Would love to show you around sometime you are back in Japan :)
it's sad to see others living your dream
You’ll get there if it’s your dream. It’s been something I’ve dreamed of doing for many years, and made it happen. Good luck my friend 🤙🏼✈️
You are so lucky it was light we always have to leave at 3AM in the morning! We normally fly on Tui!
2700£, you're welcome
Thank you!
Amazing. Love your reviews
john 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
You have been blessed..Very lucky guy indeed
Where's your mask tho
It's very clear that this is filmed prior to the pandemic - enough with the attempted mask shaming my guy
@@Trektrendy tbh it's not very clear. empty airports especially when you said "that is the only person you've seen in the lounge" it was like oh look corona hit hard.
It’s just not feasible to fly around the world in the same capacity - you literally cannot do this during the current pandemic. It’s really just common sense. All airports were busy it was just the F lounge in DXB which was quiet
Very impressive video, caught my attention till the last minute! You're underrated ! Goodluck with the next videos.
Thanks so much Lex, glad you enjoyed it. Plenty coming up 💪🏼
