You should change your oil every 3-5hrs. sooner the better. and oil filter 6-8hrs especially with 250's since they run at such high rpms and use up oil
Question why does he use lucas 10w-40 semi synthetic and lucas 20w-50 synthetic for the transmission? I was told to use lucas10w-40 synthetic and lucas 80w-85w synthetic for transmission. Why does he do this?
I have a 05 crf450r I ran 80w-85w for about 20hrs before i realized its supposed to be 10w-40 in the trans. it wont hurt nothing its just not "right". 20w-50 is for when its really hot day.
@@thewanderer899 will pro Honda sae 10w-30 SI oil work for my trans? I have an 08 Crf250r. I’m just confused and not very mechanical, there so much types of oil it seems like.
+1, if you want everything to last long especially the calves you have to change it often especially if the bike shares the motor and clutch oil< because then u have clutch particles floating around your motor
Please reply dude I have a 2019 crf 250r and it only has on place to fill the oil so what do I do ...don't I need to change the oil and the trans I'm so lost the owmers manual don't even mention a trans oil or a transmission fluid or a trans fill hole it's only one spot that I see
I changed my transmission oil ran bike for 3 to 5 minutes and I checked it still nothing. I bought honda 80 w and I'm right at 8 ounces left in a 32 ounce bottle. it calls for 23.4 ounces of transmission fluid. I don't want to add to much. any tips.. I use measuring cup and all. I would appreciate any help please as I don't want to ruin my 2015 crf250r. Thx everyone.
It's says on the side of the tranny case how many "ml" it needs. Use a "ratio rite" cup like hes doing in he video. It measures in "cc". 1cc = 1ml. So if the case says "650ml" you fill the cup to 650cc. That way you have the exact amount.
HONDASBEST / with the older bikes oil capacity was twice to three times as much the new bikes Less oil capacity and the bikes nowadays Run 10 x higher RPMs so that's why it's good to change oil 3-5 hours, no brainer way to think about it newer bikes beat the oil up way quicker.
At 4:09 did anyone else notice when trying to tighten the oil filter cover he's spinning his t-handle the wrong way? Lol
Zach 507 me😂
Hahaha
I do that all the time to make sure it sets properly before tightening and possibly cross threading it
I do the same thing with lug nuts and any other fasteners that can get cross threaded easily.
Jon Doe yea I never thought of that, I usually do that when I can’t get it to thread on right at first but I don’t do it every time
