    Great stuff. For videos like this don't worry about the TH-cam 30 minute thing. If I ever get a chance to build one, I probably watch these again, then watch again, then watch a section, go do, then watch a section and go do. I will probably mess something up and then re-watch a section, fix my issue, and then move forward. These are great. I don't care if they are 20 min or 2 hours. It's great info at a great pace. It takes as long as it takes to cover the info.

    Thanks learnt a lot. Doing my first ever trans rebuild A518 to go behind my 6.4 hemi.
    I put 9 frictions in the OD brake with the extra thin steels that was supplied with a kit, worked out about 0.4mm difference overall. Thought that may be advantageous but as you said better to try add more to the front clutch pack as the rear one doesnt wear out its always engaged.

    Great video. Is there a need to check any clearances or end-play in the OD assembly?

    Good stuff Cope, I really enjoy the content. I build my first 46re a couple years back. I may have over did it. All 6 pinions, thicker sun gear, I even smoothed the sharp edges and drilled out the return to a size over 5/16 inside of the case . Unfortunately I'll need to take it apart again cause I removed some return springs for the piston in the drum, and also installed one of those accumulator kits with the sleeve so I have to get rid of that 🤦
    If I remember correctly there is enough room in the intermediate pack for one and even two more clutches, if you get rid of the snap ring and add a bigger snap ring after notching the case farther back, but I'm not a builder. What do you do to the "middle" pack? Maybe you have a video already that I haven't seen. Yet 🍻

      I agree. John, you should have edited your voice into it so we can learn what you all did in that clip. Very good videos BTW, thank you, and keep up the great work!

    John,your w genius with the TF’s for sure…..but WHY wouldn’t u have a 5 or 6 pinion billet planet over a 4 if you’re gonna spend so much $?

    I have a stock 360 gas engine I would like to throw one of your valve bodies in there but I'm not sure which one would be the best figured it would probably get me mileage and Power

    John i love the videos, but i have a question on the planetary plastic bushing that come with your steel 5 planet. you explain that the plastic bushing keeps the metal to metal from wearing in the 46 re how important this bushing in is the 727?

    • @richardthelin8999
      @richardthelin8999 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You always need it if you have a steel planetary, that goes for the 727 to.

      @@richardthelin8999 i was afraid of that wish i would have known of this before i rebuilt the 727.

    Good stuff John...Do you have a rebuild kit for a 47re diesel cummins trans? Its a stock 24v engine right now but will have mild upgrades "cold air intake, 4" exhaust, 3 piece exhaust manifold". If you don't sell a complete kit could you tell me what upgrades or mods I would most benefit from when I tear into it? Thanks, Ryan.

    Are the E and H output housing and shaft interchangeable mechanically?
