I've been inspired by your success - I think I need to try harder.... thanks for that.
Base your language learning on key useful phrases. Good day, thank you, how much for the... and so on. After you know these phrases you can start playing with variations on them. How much for the... tomatoes, tram ride, movie tickets, etc. Like learning to play musical scales, then after you master that, you can toy with these scales and even break some rules. A common problem with a native English speaker is that everyone will want to practice their English on you. Agree on that provided that they also teach you something useful in their own language.

I really enjoyed watching this. I moved to Croatia from Canada in June 2020. No family or ancestry, just following my heart calling. I love it here and it feels like home. I am doing my best to learn the language and hope that someday I can enjoy such wonderful Croatian traditions and the company of such beautiful people as you have shared here. ❤️

I moved from Croatia to Canada Edmonton in 2017 as an 20 year old. I yearn for food but Canada is a nice Country as well. If you ever need advice or need to ask about something dont mind about asking me as alot of people helped me here so i feel like should give to others as well.

Bas ste simpaticna porodica. Baka i deka su bas dragi, a unucici su srecni sto imaju ljubav i radost odrastati uz takve stare. Veoma slicna hrana na citavom Balkanu, ali unikatna stvar za to podrucje je PEKA. Moja baka je uvek ujutru pod pekom pekla kruva, i svi unucici su morali biti veoma strpljivi i poslusni da ne podignu peku i tako da se kruh ne spljoska ( lose ispece). U Srbiji nisu mogli nastaviti svoju tradiciju, ali uspomene su ostale. Zelim vam svima predivne uspomene, jer to je ono sto posle svega ostaje neokaljano.

My mom's parents immigrated to Northern Michigan (U.S.) in the 1920s.Sadly, both passed away when I was an infant. Mom used a few Croatian words when I was young, mostly for food. Now, at 68, I'm Dida and trying to learn the language, thanks to your inspiration. I love your channel, and I can't wait to visit Croatia.

I was born in Croatia, but my family moved to Canada when I was only 4 years old, I learned English in school and it's my main language now, but I would still speak Croatian to my parents and their Croatian friends....although there are some words that I've forgotten after all these years, I know if I was back there it would all come back to me....I've only been back home when I was 10 and 15 years old, that was a long time ago! I'm amazed at how well you picked up the language, you're doing a great job!
Watching this video gave me a big hit of nostalgia. My baka & dida migrated from Croatia to Australia in the 60s with my dad and his siblings. I truly miss the Sunday lunches at their place. As I was watching this, I imagined myself in your children's shoes, experiencing their lunch as if I was there with my own baka & dida. They moved back to Croatia in 2000 and with that, the Sunday lunch tradition at their place left Australia. I was able to visit them a handful of times since then, before my dida passing in 2011 and then baka in January this year. I can't wait to revisit next year and immerse myself in the Croatian culture and traditions, even if my grandparents are no longer with me. Great video and great peka! Zivjeli.

I have just discovered Sarah and her amazing videos. I spent 25 years of my life living in Croatia and married to a Croatian. We are now living in Britain (I am Welsh). Watching her videos was so special to me. It brought back all the wonderful times we had there. I absolutely love Croatia, Croatian food, the people, etc. The language is difficult to learn. I think I managed it quite well. I must say your Croatian is excellent Sarah. I am definitely a new follower.

Moja baka je uvek ujutru pod pekom pekla kruva, i svi unucici su morali biti veoma strpljivi i poslusni da ne podignu peku i tako da se kruh ne spljoska ( lose ispece). U Srbiji nisu mogli nastaviti svoju tradiciju, ali uspomene su ostale. Zelim vam svima predivne uspomene, jer to je ono sto posle svega ostaje neokaljano.

My mom's parents immigrated to Northern Michigan (U.S.) in the 1920s.Sadly, both passed away when I was an infant. Mom used a few Croatian words when I was young, mostly for food. Now, at 68, I'm Dida and trying to learn the language, thanks to your inspiration. I love your channel, and I can't wait to visit Croatia.

This video brought back beautiful memories of my family as we always ate lunch together ! My Baba cooked all the food for the weddings & events at our Croation Hall ! I was born in Croatia, but my family moved to Canada when I was only 4 years old, I learned English in school and it's my main language now, but I would still speak Croatian to my parents and their Croatian friends....although there are some words that I've forgotten after all these years, I know if I was back there it would all come back to me....I've only been back home when I was 10 and 15 years old, that was a long time ago! I'm amazed at how well you picked up the language, you're doing a great job!

Watching this video gave me a big hit of nostalgia.
My baka & dida migrated from Croatia to Australia in the 60s with my dad and his siblings. I truly miss the Sunday lunches at their place. As I was watching this, I imagined myself in your children's shoes, experiencing their lunch as if I was there with my own baka & dida. They moved back to Croatia in 2000 and with that, the Sunday lunch tradition at their place left Australia. I was able to visit them a handful of times since then, before my dida passing in 2011 and then baka in January this year. I can't wait to revisit next year and immerse myself in the Croatian culture and traditions, even if my grandparents are no longer with me.

I have just discovered Sarah and her amazing videos. I spent 25 years of my life living in Croatia and married to a Croatian. We are now living in Britain (I am Welsh). Watching her videos was so special to me. It brought back all the wonderful times we had there. I absolutely love Croatia, Croatian food, the people, etc. The language is difficult to learn. I think I managed it quite well. I must say your Croatian is excellent Sarah. I am definitely a new follower.
