I believe when he took free throws he would put put his right foot behind his left foot, I don’t remember exactly but I know it was unique, also he is a great chess player.
Thank you so much for this content. I had a decent relationship years ago with many of these guys. Some have passed away, and Ive lost touch with everyone..time moves on..
Rajiv Virdee it can be. I played 150 offline triple threat games just to get one Rudy Larusso. I really wanted & needed that Mel Daniels, now I gotta spend some mt to get a good power forward 😭
@@HarrisonOrr1997 you can get cheap ones that do the job. For example there is the pd Kawhi series 2 card who goes for like 20k. But yh I understand the anger of not getting one.
When the Knicks played the Royals it was Barnett and not Frazier ho guarded the Big O, and did a great job on him. Frazier was finesse, not all that way with Dick. He was a great passer as well, and had the most bodacious hook shot, that was rare, and could come from anywhere on the court. Bravo, and long over due.
I tried to shoot like him when I was coming up in the game in Queens All I got was really sore feet after about two week. I don't advise trying that style. After the kick you still had to land on the floor, and that's what beat the hell outta me. Bravo the unicorn.
Happy Gilmore, member of the 2006 Minnesota Timberwolves grew up idolizing Dick Barnett and used this same jumpshot to honor Dick Barnett during his playing career
I came here to see if he really used that jump shot in nba games. I didn't realized he played when they could only dribble with one hand and had no 3 point line, so it makes sense
People who came to see if his jumpshot actually looked like that ----->
Dick Barnett is nate bowles real father
Wordddd
Fun to watch him.
You can see that most people left the video after the first shot lmao
From 2k😂😂
This man was hitting green 3s before 2k
Before the 3 pt line
The most unique jump shot ever!
Have you seen Shawn Marion play?
@@FierceTierce Dick Barnett's jumpshot is way weirder
It's really just the tucked legs that is unorthodox. His form & release is smooth & consistent.
Best shooting form in 2k don’t @ me
Ima @you cuz u accurate asf
Giacomo Lundy I’ve used it since 2k16 and I love it best jump shot in park and in my career
Imagine having 69 likes

Excellent. I grew up in NYC and I appreciated him a lot! He was also great on defense.

50 years later, I still remember that jump shot!
It’s crazy because his offense game was so advanced for that time period.
You’re right. The speed, the cuts, coming off picks for a quick jumper.

Should definitely be in HOF with ALL of his accomplishments.
Huge 🧢
He is
Ray Field he won 2 of the knicks ONLY championships. That alone makes him a HOFer
@@prisonmike2977 pretty recently.
@@prisonmike2977 No, he's not in the Naismith Hall of Fame. He certainly should be.
Solid player, smart, good shooter, good defender
Nice complement to Baylor and West w/Lakers.
@@Amick44 yet they sent him to the Knicks... smh
@@kaspafischer yeah. Still major contributor on some strong teams. Lakers, then Knicks.
fallback baby!
we all know Dick Barnett is known for his jump shot
Hmm so this is the guy who made me throw my controller across the room
He actually shot like that wtf that is so bad for ur knees
Fundings GT ask him if he cares 😂😂
Why are you saying this now when this was 60-70 years ago?
Regardless, that jump shot worked for him to make his shots.
After I seen his animation on 2k I had to verify his jump shot really looked like that😭
I believe when he took free throws he would put put his right foot behind his left foot, I don’t remember exactly but I know it was unique, also he is a great chess player.
He played chess?
@@masterchief5833 yes he did...received his doctorate in education ....always well dressed....
Yes, his free throw shot was much weirder than his jumpshot.
Lol this dude is cheesing in 2k ITS CHEESE BARNETT
GREAT VIDEO, THANKS !!

All old Knicks fans worship Reed, Frazier, DeBusschere, Monroe, and Bradley. I'm all in on Dick Barnett. "Fall back baby!"
That kick-back with his legs is the weirdest thing.
Kinda funny actually. Whatever works.
Now this is a funky jumpshot
Best jump shot ever absolute straight greens in 2k20. 🤣
This is what always stood out for me. His kicks when shooting the jumpshot. But I also recall his unique foul throw form. Someone should post that too
that jump shot tho
Fall back baby!
Crazy how everyone knows this guy from 2k lol
Who here cause of 2k20 myteam
Haha his GO is hella nice lol.

That ugly jumper was money. 🔥🔥🔥
This jumper i cant😂😂
He should be a HOF
He is now
The Jack knife
One of those players that stats do not tell the story! This is a nice player. And, supposedly, he's a decent defender as well...
I think it’d be super cool for someone to show NBA 2k20 to Barnett, while having someone play with his new opal card
i just pulled that
holden matheson lucky haha

why the heck did the Lakers trade him to the Knicks anyway? he ended up killing the Lakers in the '70 finals.... ouch

@@eternal1blue West wasn't happy about it, either.
I do my legs the same way too when I shoot the basketball

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
His jumper is so broke if he fell out of a boat he wouldn’t hit the water 💦
It ain't broken if you can still hit em consistently on the biggest stage, dummy.
Who came for the shooting form😂😂
