    I was fortunate to grow up in Illinois, not far from Chicago. I was born in '78 so MJ and the Bulls were my squad for life. The first game I ever went to was a loss to the Dominique Wilkins Atlanta Hawks in '87 if I recall correctly. My father's colleague had season tix all throughout the winning dynasty years, so we regularly went to a handful of games every one of those championship seasons and those in between, from 91-98. So I've seen the dynasty live. They won every single game we attended through those years. I saw many games live during the 1996, 72 win season including game 2 of the finals vs the Seattle Supersonics.

    I was fortunate to see the 96 Bulls live at the forum (magic;s comeback game). Here is what I saw: 1) defense - they completely shut down everyone especially in the middle. Harper and Rodman in particular stood out in that regard and that says a lot considering Mike and Scottie are elite defenders That's 4 elite defenders. 2) I swear everytime Mike touched that ball, women in the stadium screamed like he was a rock star 😆

    • @christopherbrock8913
      @christopherbrock8913 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Kukoc was a great player but Ron Harper would get the start against Golden State - Phil Jackson would sacrifice some of the offense that Kucoc provides for the defense that Harper brings to the table - Kucoc was not a good defender and stayed in trouble when someone posted him up - Kucoc would come into the game off the bench fresh and drop a few big shots late in the 1st quarter and 2nd quarter - but Harper would have been chasing Curry and Micheal would have been on Thompson - people overlooked what Harper did every night - he had 2 of the biggest plays in that Game 7 against Indiana in 1998 - under 2 minutes on the clock in the 4th quarter he got a steal and on the next Bulls possession he grabbed a offensive rebound - those 2 plays kept Indiana from getting within 2 points - Scottie Pippen and Ron Harper stayed on the offensive boards grabbing rebounds for extra possessions - then you add in Dennis Rodman's offensive rebounds - (it's very hard to beat a team that is crashing the boards and playing solid defense) - people don't understand that Offense was just icying on the cake for Chicago - they didn't rely on offensive - full court pressure, defense, and rebounding is what Phil Jackson was all about - defense wins Championships and that would probably be the difference in the game if Chicago faced Golden State - Curry would not be sitting out there 100 yards away from the basket shooting 3's because Harper would be picking him up in the backcourt as he is bringing the ball up the court - just those 3 or 4 seconds of pressure on the ball can take a team out of rhythm - they are normally use to getting a shot off with 6 seconds left on the play clock - but by putting pressure on the ball and throwing off the timing of the play developing, now they are rushing a shot because the play clock is down to 2 seconds - but it would have been totally different for Golden State's offense faced Chicago's defense

    This would be a phenomenal match up. Phil Jackson is underrated as a tactician and would take advantage of match-ups.
    The Era would have to be considered because of the defensive rule changes. But the Bulls would win either way.
    HOT TAKE: the 89 Pistons would match up well with any modern team. Especially if you replace one of the backup big guys with an average 3 and D player.

    The only team that can “compete” with the 96 Bulls, are (post 96 teams) teams like the “Lakers 00-02 3-peat’ers” and the ‘12 & 13 Miami Heat.
    A lot of people think the Warriors can compete against the 96 Bulls, but it’s not happening. I like the Warriors, but they paved the way for the Soft Era we live in today, their series along with the Lebronaliers.

    they ain't beating the '86 Celtics. It'd be a hellava battle, but Larry and company would figure out a way to win. Besides the big 3 pounding them down, DJ would have a great series, and that bench would tip it: Walton, Wedman (very underrated) Sichting and others.

      Yep, I’ve been saying this for years, but nobody listens. That Celtics front court was nasty. I’m a huge Laker fan and I also think the 87 Lakers would beat the Bulls in seven game series, but those Lakers and Celtics matchups of the 80s were out of this world.

      You may be right - ‘87 Lakers were fantastic. Mychal Thompson was a huge add. BUT if tragic Len Bias had not died i think the C’s would have won in ‘87. Walton hurt himself over training son after Bias’ death and the core group logged way too many minutes. But that’s an alternative universe we’ll never know.

    I watched the teams through the 80s 90s and until today. MJ is the goat and his 73-9 team would smoke any team in modern times. Just the pure physical nature of the team. The defense and no one boards like Rodman. Young people just don’t understand
