      Siseris Hijam because of the color and red chillies are less spicy maybe

    I did this just yesterday and it turned out so well. I grated the garlic and manually sliced the sili (my hand was burning for the whole morning so i guess its best to wear gloves). I used 50 pieces of siling labuyo and 2 garlic heads. No onion. Used ordinary vegetable oil. The best pampagana ever. Makakarami ka ng kanin 😁

    This was so good. Made it for a bbq yesterday and it was fantastic. Made one change, I added around 1 tbsp of agave syrup as I wasn't sure if it was going to be bitter. The result looked the same as here. And the taste...it's one of those sauces that you try and go, "Oh that tastes nice," then 5 seconds later, the burn sets in.

    Put in a ceramic jar and cover it with oil to create an air lock, it will keep it for a very long time ( a year for me).

    I made this yesterday using some reapers, chocolate bhut jolokia, hot scotch and patio sizzlers.
    I did half the oil amount but kept everything else the same. This is amazing.
    Will be making more.

    thanks for sharing!!!😀 This is a timesaver. I love garlic and oil, I'll just try putting less chili as my stomach not good for spicy. Gonna use them for egg fried rice and other fried stuff so I dont have to crush n fry garlic every morning :) Maybe for all dishes and stews as I always use lots of garlic , menudo, spaghetti, pasta dishes, adobo😁 My dad used to make his own chili oil but there's always smoke in the house and we can't breathe so never tried making this. Gonna use ur recipe thanks a bunch!

    Can I use olive oil instead of regular cooking oil for this?

    • @errol700
      @errol700 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Always use a neutral oil or you may mess up the first step of the process i.e. flavoring the oil with peppercorns (Olive oil has its own strong/ dominant flavor). The reason why Asian and South Asian cuisines avoid olive oil because it clashes with the flavor of their spices. Pairing/ cooking spices like peppercorns, cinnamon, star anise, cumin, lemongrass, ginger, chili peppers, etc with/ in Olive oil changes the entire flavor profile of the food/dish.

      I highly suggest use vegetable oil, im not sure if olive oil is good for this sauce they say olive oil is not good for frying or sauteeing..
