      Why do you call this a Schezuan sauce without keeping schezuan in it , isn't it funny you are missing the main ingredient ?

    Thanks for sharing, I didn't soak before boiling, just wash them and boil, once boils, off the fire and soak it until I want to use 1 hr later. So you will not wasting your time and gas. Boiled dried chili is much better than just soaking them that I have been doing for more than 50 years. Now, I always wash and boil then soak it .

      Hope you did not serve it to the street dogs and cats around your house. Recently there was news that someone prepared schzewan sauce and served with pizza and pasta to cats and dogs. All had died. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

    Awesome recipe. I added chopped celery and some crushed Schezwan peppers also. It was out of the world sauce. I use this for Schezwan fried rice. Thank you. Love the way you explain. God bless you.

      @@normanpinto I added 1 Tbsp. of finely chopped celery and 8-9 Schezwan pepper corns crushed. Apologies for late response. I just saw your question. 🙏🏻

      @@Anione111 you can try with white pepper corns. But Schezwan pepper corns have some distinct flavour which we can't find in anything else. Good luck 👍🏻

      What an awesome idea, I have been making the similar sauce where I mixed all the ingredients then braised it. I will now use this method of cooking the chili prior that will zoch it up.

    Nice! I am an amateur home cook. I live in a remote area far north in Scandinavia. It is hard to find special ingredients from all around the world. One may be lucky and find like four, five out of six. I learned about Schezwan sauce last year. Today I felt lucky. I found schezwan sauce in the grocery. I thought maybe I should look for a recipe on TH-cam. All I need is to find me dried chilli. I will make a spicy cream sauce for my taco. It is taco weeks.

      @@mdbgaming4683 this is completely wrong. Please don't give advice if you aren't sure. The sauce has extra oil and vinegar which acts as a preservative. This can be kept in the fridge for two months.

    A family of mine made Schezwan rice. They make food and sell.
    So, I looked it up and now I can make my own sauce.
    I don't really like buying food because its expensive and the potions is very little.
    So, I prefer to make my own.

    Excellent presentation and I made it; and taste was delicious with my Lumpias. just the right amount. I used brown sugar instead. Vinegar helps it to preserve the mix. Vinegar-based, so keeping it in the fridge isn't necessary, ~ yum

      MSG is FDA approved and is widely used in chinese cuisines. Infact, it occurs naturally in cheese and tomato ...it's NOT bad

    Caution: When working with any type of Chillies make sure you wear rubber or plastic gloves.

      @@abeehabaris5619 in this case make a paste of flour and water and apply to your hands and leave it for a few minutes. Wash hands. Repeat if needed. Best is use rubber gloves.

    I have made schezwan sauce by following your recipe at least 25times. Seriously it turns out so yummy and amazing in color Infact much better than the market sauce .

    You may need to Correct the name from "Schezwan Sauce" to the actual "Chili Sauce"

    I made this about a month ago- without any recipe...
    I think I did okay- this is not much different than how I did it
    I used 2 tbsp of brown sugar and did not use ginger
    I think I’ll use ginger next time
    ....God did my tiny apartment stink! tho making it^^

    FYI - Aginamoto is not Chinese salt. It is monosodium glutamate, more commonly known as MSG, and often used in Japanese food products as a preservative and flavor enhancer.
