@@iamlightskin1483 As a Pokemon fan who REALLY wants Pikachu to not have to suffer another brutal death, even I have to admit that's wishful thinking. Based on what I know of Yugi, Ash only has two win conditions.
1: Beat the shit out of Yugi by physically throwing hands with him while thier monsters do thier own thing. This would normally be out of character for Ash, but in the context of a Death Battle, it makes alot more sense. Especially since he has to balls to try and punch fucking MEWTWO. Considering Ash is strong enough to casually lift and throw thousands of pounds and tough enough to survive lighting strikes from his own Pikachu (who wasn't holding back), so he should be strong enough to one-shot Yugi very casually.
2: Pikachu's Z-move. It's technically stronger by itself than all of Yugi's cards, but Death Battle doesn't grant a victory to someone over just one good move

As Yugi is the King of Games, (all games, not just Duel Monsters), he'd still win as he'd have an innate instinct on how best to play, plus the puzzle stacking the odds in his favour.

This fight actually would be a three-in-one lose for the Pokemon franchise. You would have Ash losing his first death battle, Pikachu losing it's second Death Battle, and Charizard losing it's third Death Battle which will be a record for the most Death Battle losses for any character in history. This will a hell of a blow for the Pokemon fanbase.

It'd be interesting to see Ash bend the Rules of Yugioh in this fight. Like, maybe he sees that the Monsters come from the cards itself and attacks the Cards instead of the Monsters, destroys Trap Cards by attacking them directly on the field. In fact, knowing Ash, he'd pull a Crazy stunt (and only if one of his Pokemon gets completely obliterated) like running through the field and just decking Yugi in the face
He learns about how to use Rapid Spin or Defog and uses that to destroy continuous cards since those would probably count as field hazards
Ya, that sounds like something he would do. It ain't the first time that's happened, only it's the Pokemon Trainer doing the punching this time around
Punching Yugi would play against Ash, as assaulting the opponent dueler is against the rules of both Pokémon battles and Yu Gi Oh. If Ash does that during Yugi’s shadow game, he will get immediately sucked into a Penalty Game, which is pretty much instant game over for Ash.

@@jamievania7168 Maybe. But it would never actually come to a fist fight. Attacking Yugi in a shadow game would just get Ash put in a Penalty Game, as has happened to someone against Yugi before.
Even without the Shadow Realm, Yugi still has his Millenium Puzzles magic and could just use telekinesis to throw Ash away, cast a Penalty Game on his own and trap Ash in an illusion, or just rip out his soul (Yes, Yugi can do all this).

I can see some of the situations.
Charizard Vs Summoned Skull: Yugi activated Makio the Magical Mist to cut Charizard's Fire power and increase the strength of Summoned Skull's Lightning Strike to KO charizard. Then Ash sends Greninja to use a rain-boosted water shuriken to take out Summoned Skull and activate the battle bond.
Dark Magician Vs Pikachu: Pikachu quick attacks threw Thousand Knives and has Thunderbolt colide with a Dark magic Attack. Pikachu then goes for a 10K Volt Thunderbolt, but a magic cylinder and a spellbind circle latter, and Pikachu is rendered helpless as it is KOed by it's own Z-move.
Black Luster Soilder proves it's metal of being compared to Blue-eyes (and indirectly, the Egyptian Gods) by requiring Ash to use multiple big guns to take it down (like Septile, Snorlax and Naganadale)... but not before each one is able to leave a big chip in the armor, which helps in it's defeat.
Yugi Ultimately ends things by Calling forth an Egyptian God (probably Slifer), after congratulating Ash on doing so well up to that point.
Yes I think Yugi ultimatly wins... and in case you are wandering about the BLS thing, there is an official (but not legal to use) BLS Normal monster released in japan that says in it's favor text that it is an equal to Blue-eyes.... and Blue-eyes in the final season of the anime has been compared to the Egyptian gods in terms of power

I think everyone knows that Black Luster Soldier is equally strong to Blue Eyes White Dragon. Both are level 8, have 3000 ATK and 2500 DEF and no effect. The only differences are the types (wich don't matter in that regard) and the way they are summoned.

Especially not when it comes to each card's lore.
So Yugi definitely takes this one. He's a far better strategist, his monsters are far stronger, and he's got more ways of enhancing his monsters. In the end, Ash was sent to the Shadow Realm.
plus atem could simply will ash out of existence via the milennium items or some shit or gods forbid bring out the 3 egyptian gods, or even the legendary knights
I think y’all are putting ash down too much. He has gone against a few legendary Pokémon and won or convinced them not to fight. Not to mention, unlike yugi, he has appeared continuously in his series.
Having all the good and the bad to gain from that, but mostly the Pokémon, where he has serval at Professor Oak’s lab. Unless you want to put it at Ash’s ‘best team’ you have enough monsters that could probably be enough to fight off each of Yugi’s monsters from his deck.
Finally Ash himself is best at strategizing in battle himself and performing the best action for his Pokémon, be it at the exact moment, or planned ahead of time. Tho Yugi isn’t another Trainer, he could win if he plans things right...

Before anyone starts asking “Will this Commission Track be the official Death Battle Music?”
No, it won’t. There’s a way to tell the difference, notice how the Official Death Battle Tracks have the Death Battle logo at the top of the Track Art, but the Commission Tracks do not. Brandon Yates has stated many times that these Commission Tracks are not to be used for the Official fights if they ever become real Death Battles (nor do they confirm that the matchups in question are happening for real). He or Therewolf Media will compose something else for the real thing.
Think of these Commission Tracks as sort of like Trial Runs that also serve to spread matchup ideas, and then Brandon Yates or Therewolf Media will try to one-up themselves for the real thing, IF (and that’s a big IF) they get confirmed.
That’s how it has worked in the past, and that is how it will continue to work in the future.

Insanity lockdown 23, Yeah. I am starting to see why people like this, but I will probably never fully like this idea because this is a completely obvious stomp in Yugi's favor. I'd say this is more of a stomp than Deadpool VS The Mask!

People talk about how Yugi's monsters are way stronger than Ash's, but neglect to mention that the trap and spell cards are where it sets in that Ash really has no chance. Yugi could do anything from stopping Ash's Pokémon from moving with Spellbinding Circle or Swords of Revealing Light, to turning Ash's own Pokémon against him with Change of Heart or Brain Control, to even busting out the old Weevil killer strat and continuously attacking Ash directly
Or countering Ash's strongest attacks with Magic Cylinder.
Trap and spell cards don’t work like that. If we are just applying everything then Ash could just resist the laws of reality like he has done consistently throughout the show and just ignore the cards which are specifically stated to work on other cards and specific type monsters all of which would not apply to Ash and his Pokémon.
Has Ash ever caught a Pokémon that knows Rapid Spin? I like to believe that while he would still lose, he could theoretically get rid of some of the trap cards with that move.

This... Doesn’t seem like a fair fight. Assuming Ash only has his most iconic Pokémon from across all of his teams which means no legendaries (except maybe Zygarde, but that’s a bit of a stretch). The size and strength of Yugi’s cards and monsters eclipse Ash’s whole team by a wide margin.
Though Ash would have to use Zygarde should Yugi pull out any of the Egyptian God Cards!

It's not because of the Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh rivalry, and not because I don't like Ash vs Lucy, but the match-up of Ash vs Yugi has a lot of connections. I don't need to explain it because TrickyrebornStudios already told it and why Ash should fight Yugi instead.
If Lucy ever comes in a Death Battle, then it should be Rin Tohsaka. If not Rin, then Joey Wheeler from Yu-Gi-Oh would be a lot better for Lucy than Ash imo.
Yeah I know, Ash and Lucy facing 2 Yu-Gi-Oh characters, but even so both Yugi and Joey actually do have great connections towards Ash and Lucy.
Honestly, Joey Wheeler would be better off fighting Matt Ishida from Digimon, as they're both blonde, best friends to the main protagonist, and they both have a younger sibling they'd die to protect.

The fight goes south as one of Ash’s Pokémon take a fatal hit. The horror on Ash and his Pokémon’s faces quickly turn into anger. We’re not battling for sport anymore as this family will now fight as one to take down the threat.
The massive horde charges Atem. He briefly observes, a little intimated but needing to look at every option. A serious look as he summons Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl, King’s Queen’s and Jack’s Knight as well. Atem’s counting on these monsters to hold a strong defense. The Pokémon Attack, some repelled and clashing with the Duel Monsters, but soon the numbers start to become overwhelming, Atem is side stepping close attacks as the battle wages on, traps are being triggered to give his monsters the edge. It proves super effective but not for long. King’s Knight falls followed by Queen’s and Jack’s. The Wizard and his apprentice are giving it their all to protect the mighty Pharaoh in spirit of his best friends Mahad and Mana, however Ash’s bond with his Pokémon is just as strong and they destroy the Magicians.
No more monsters on the field, the Pokémon strike at the opportunity, but there’s one face down left. “Swords of Revealing Light!” Atem opens his eyes and sees all the Pokémon pouring their power into trying to destroy this light barrier. Now is the time, strong opponents deserve an equally strong monster. No. Not a monster but a-
“All mighty protector of the sun and sky. I beg of thee, please heed my cry. Transform thyself from orb of light and bring me victory in this fight. I beseech thee, grace our humble game but first I shall call out thy name, come fourth!!”
Effects of Swords of revealing light are shattered as the Pokémon all leap at Atem. Time seemingly slows down accompanied by a brief moment of the world going mute.
“WINGED DRAGON OF RA!!!”
A massive light shoots out followed by a fiery explosion blowing back all the attacking Pokémon and knocking out those who couldn’t handle the entrance of the behemoth standing before them. Ash stares in awe, intimated but at the same time ready for any challenge placed in front of him.
“Woah… Who’s that Pokémon?”
“It’s no Pokemon… It’s a god!”
Once again it seems like the odds are against Ash and Pikachu but will they pull through and make the impossible possible as they always seem to do? Let the fight continue on.

@Alto_frog And really does show how one-sided this fight is. Ash may have speed, but that's mainly the only arguable advantage he has.
@@antonitocotter447 I think the fight is actually pretty close believe it or not. Pikachu has what it takes to stand up to and even surpass the God cards. Although their fusion Horakthy may be up for debate. I think it’s important to know that duel monsters are only as powerful as their summoner’s life force and will since their soul and spirit energy are linked.
Because Atem essentially becomes something of God like status himself by the time of Dark Side of Dimensions, being able to freely move in and out of the afterlife and dispersing the darkness that was consuming their dimension and an entire other dimension as well. All possible just so long as Yugi never loses faith in Atem. I’d say they take the win assuming everything is being taken into account.
Ash and Pikachu aren’t pushovers tho. They’re in tune with the force that flows through the Alola region which when combined with Z-Energy was enough to satisfy Necromza, a being that devoured all the light in an entire other universe. At the height of their bond it kinda shows itself as this white speed force void type thing where they channeled it to overcome Tapu-Koko’s guardian form.
Ash’s bond with Pikachu is so strong he was able to will himself back to life. This was after a fight with Marshadow, another pokemon that uses z-energy, and an army of wild pokemon all influenced by Marshadow completely annihilated Ash. Pikachu, in an emotional state proceeded to discharge enough electricity to eclipse the mountain they were fighting on, nuke all the bloodlusted pokemon on it, and disperse the storm clouds above.
It’s interesting that Atem and Ash are shown able to return from the afterlife on their own, but Yugi and Pikachu haven’t so if you wanted to go on a technicality you can’t say they’re capable of coming back from death. There’s just a lot to look at with this fight and I wanna see absolutely everything. More importantly Yugi and Ash treated with respect and represented properly.
@@kuribohbrother Yeah, Ash's Sceptile kept up with and defeated Tobias' Darkrai in the Sinnoh League, a Pokemon that was able to fend off both Dialga and Palkia, both of whom are the embodiment of time and space, respectively; and are responsible for creating the Pokemon multiverse.
Ash Greninja kept up with Alain's Mega Charizard X, who was able to contend with 50 percent Zygarde and Primal Groudon as well as defeating ten Mega Evolved Pokemon in a row.
Ash's Mega Lucario defeated Cynthia's Garchomp, who was able to cancel out Palkia's Spacial Rend attack.
And Pikachu was able to beat Tapu Koko, who was able to contend with Necrozma, a Pokemon that absorbed all the light in Ultra Space, a dimension that's shown to be the size of an infinite universe.
Plus, Ash and his team have resisted mind hax before.
So yeah, this is going to be a pretty close fight
I’ll be honest, I’m an Ash fan and I think people attack him too much because they just don’t like him too much.
That said, I can accept some logic with how Yugi can beat Ash, I mean if we think about it, if Yugi had to use the Egyptian gods and Ash didn’t have any legendary or mystic except the Ultra Beast from Alola, I say he would be too overwhelmed to really handle it all. I also say that if this wasn’t a type of match where Ash couldn’t use, like all his Pokémon, it would be a bit more difficult seeing all of them could help. This isn’t even mentioning how effective Yugi’s magic or trap cards are, they may not destroy the Pokémon instantly but I imagine they can do a lot of damage. So I can admit the Alola champion has issues here...
That said... Y’all think he would go down easily? No, no he would not. Maybe he would not get the lifepoints system if they had to convert to something else, but I do feel most of his strongest Pokémon are stronger then base dark magician girl. If Yugi has to get stronger monsters out to protect him, he would need to use card effects to get monsters that can handle a Pikachu before it can quick attack him! This also reminds me that Ash can tell his Pokémon to dodge Yugi’s attacks, something Yugi never has to actually order before, so there is a random chance to actually hitting his Pokémon. Finally Ash can always return a Pokémon if things get to dangerous. He can always send a faster one to avoid attacks and land quick shots, a flyer to be in the air to be a tricky target, or even a wall to just not go down as easy.
This is of course going by the idea that they are playing by their own rules. If Yugi is allowed to order his monsters, Ash has less advantage against him... I am unsure most of his monsters can be fast tho, except maybe kuruboh they’re a speedster.
I just felt like putting a fair argument out. I do agree Yugi would likely win, but Ash isn’t a bad choice at least. Just saying.
Yugi can likely order his monsters as he wishes.... as the Pharaoh everyone is thinking of when we say Yugi has had to deal with actual monsters fighting back in ancient Egypt in the shadow games that Duel monsters was based off of.

For the sake of argument, let's give Ash a 6 team (Pokemon League rules state only 6 in his party) of his BEST and multitype pokemon: Charizard, Sceptile, Greninja, Snorlax, Hawlucha, and Pikachu. Yami Yugi- aka Pharaoh Atem- has a deck centered around his two best magicians: Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl. He also has Mahad, King/Queen/Jack's Knight, Buster Blader, Black Luster Soldier, Magician of Black Chaos, Including various fusions for Buster Blader/Dark Magician and Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast. Not only that, but he has spells and traps that synergize with his magicians and warriors, and he has counters against power monsters, primarily dragons, given his rivalry with Kaiba and his 3 Blue Eyes White Dragons.
This is what i believe should be the rules: Both combatants can be given leeway since tributing monsters and switching out pokemon will be tedious and annoying, Ash will still be bound to six of his best pokemon but he will have the option to bring them all out (which he has done so on several occasions), while Atem will be bound with his 60 card deck and he can only bring out 5 monsters + 1 Extra Deck monster at a time (following the anime's rules and the official TCG).
Lastly, the purpose of this fight would be to bring out each combatant's fullest potential, so no Legendary Pokemon or the Egyptian God Cards (let's be honest, with the 3 Egyptian God Cards, Atem doesn't need his other monsters, and a 10 second match isn't fun). Note that the Eye of Timaeus may be "legendary", but it's primarily used for Dark Magician fusion combos, which is the whole point of Atem's deck; with Dark Magician being his Ace monster. Plus Ash would be given the Mega Stone and Z Ring so he can mega evolve Charizard and Greninja while performing Z moves with Greninja and Pikachu. That's the whole point of having a team or deck build with exceptional synergy, and having legendary pokemon or god cards break that synergy. One last note: although Yugi did have the five pieces of Exodia, he also lost them in the first season. Plus Exodia is an INSTANT WIN CONDITION, meaning once Pharoah Atem gets all five pieces of Exodia on his hand, he WINS THE DUEL, and per the rules of the official TCG, it's an instant win condition, NO EXCEPTIONS. Ash wouldn't be able to do ANYTHING if Atem was given Exodia, so for this fight... NO EXODIA.
In conclusion. Even though Ash has proven himself to being an exceptional pokemon trainer; learning from his mistakes, getting better and stronger with each pokemon he captures and trains, and having that training pay off with a few tournament wins under his belt and defeating several legendary pokemon... Atem's optimal deck build of magicians and warriors, a wide range of spells and traps for countering powerful monsters, his fusions being extremely powerful, also the fact that not only has he won EVERY tournament he was in, won ALL 3 Egyptian Gods in Battle City, destroyed the Leviathan, AND eliminated Zork, the Entity of PURE DARKNESS ITSELF, i gotta declare Atem the winner here.
Never mind the fact that none of that really means much and Pikachu could just oneshot all of Yugi's monsters as he sends them out.

I think Ash might stand a chance. Yugi might have the brains and army of monsters to beat him, but because of game rules he follows, he's used to having his monsters attacking once and with one strike. and he can only pull out so many cards at a time before he has the right one to beat him. Unlike Yugi's monsters, each and most of Ash's Pokemon have four moves they can use, and it's way more reliable than having to find the right spell card by chance. One of the many things that makes Ash a good trainer is his creativity on thinking outside the box and how he can wiggle his way out of a situation, so he can possibly escape a trap card move. Plus Ash's most strongest Pokemon like Charizard, greninja, Pikachu also has the speed to change the pace of the battle and overwhelm Yugi, since he's used to fighting on a slow pace in order to get the right cards to beat his opponents.
It's possible, but Ash likely would play fair and not attack Yugi like that. Besides, Atem has taken casual hits from Zorc Necrophades and Zorc caused a solar eclipse. Not to mention that Yubel flat out stated Atem's power was immense, the highest they'd ever seen. And Yubel is someone who would've fused 12 separate dimensions together. Now while it's debated to this day on whether or not the Duel between Yugi and Jaden actually happened or not, the fact remains that Ash isn't beating someone who can literally will whatever card they need to their hand at any moment.
@@agentX345 in life or death Ash has shown to try anything and everything out of sheer desperation. He once straight up punched Mewtwo to save Pikachu. He survives things that should kill him instantly. Pikachu Thunderbolting him is way over the 10,000 Watts needed to kill a human. Charizard setting him on fire with a flamethrower that could melt stone. Snorlax crushing Ash while weighing a minimum of 1,000 pounds. And he’s dealt with all that and more. His experience dealing with and fighting Pokémon who are treated as local deity’s if not outright Gods meaning he could probably find a way around almost anything Yugi could even think of. Yugi’s all about using the box to his advantage while Ash finds way around the box
Not to mention Ash has a Legendary, a Mythical AND an Ultra Beast.

He has actually improved a lot in Pokémon Master Journeys and now has better and stronger Pokémon (Gengar, Dragonite, Sirfetch’d) and his battle IQ is great because he is able to think and strategize quickly when it comes to battles

Like with Dante vs. Bayonetta for example both characters had a lot more weapons than what was actually listed for their fight. And even then they still didn't get to use all the weapons that were mentioned. Considering how these fights are only a few minutes long nowadays they would only focus on Ash and Yugi using their very best monsters.

Let alone the fact that, there's a vast collection of monsters in Yugi's deck of 40 cards compared to the 6 at most Ash would be allowed to carry on him.

I think Atem is smarter and more experienced, but Ash is more unpredictable, stronger, faster and more resilient (should it come to blows, I'm fairly certain he could one shot Atem with a punch to the face).
Atem only lost like 4 times but 2 of those losses he gave up for the greater good (preventing Kaiba's suicide and giving back Rebecca's grandfather blue eyes white dragon) 1 loss to Raphael and 1 to Little Yugi in the cerimonial duel.
Ash has lost....A LOT, but since Sinnoh he never used his "full power" (his 6 very best pokemon) not even against Leon (who's the #1 trainer in the world) and has fought multiple crime organizations / cult leaders/ legendary pokemon. Not to mention he adapts quickly to new strategies / gimmicks his opponents use.

This was an awesome one to start off with! Combines the egyptian style of Yu-Gi-Oh and the rocking tunes of Pokemon into this awesome as hell track! But I still prefer Ash vs Lucy.
So with the fight close to being reality I would like to list out and examine Yugi
+ Millennium Puzzle hax ( Mind Crush being the big one and being able to make monsters real for when things get serious outside the card game )
+ Likes of Dark Magician and Buster Blader are not just "Monsters" but also fighters of a higher intelect beyond an animal/creature level
+ Kuriboh can multiply through its spell card to become an infinite wall and bomb ( Duelist Kingdom )
+ Traps like Mirror Force that outright kill an attacker or Magic Cylinder that reflect the damage back to the attacker
+ Spells like Raigeki amongts many others with popping effects
+ god cards that have anime effects where they can reach an infinity attack stat ( Obelisk mainly )
If I were to really wank this to obsurd levels Giant Soldier of Stone... One of the more weaker laughable vanilla monsters by todays TCG standards could be scaled to a Naruto moon level because the shenanigans of Duelist Kingdom.

When it comes to Ash's analysis, I hope they take everything into context. Such as the amount of Pokemon he has caught (Regardless of Limit. Actually, since he has a Rotom Phone which has been shown in the anime, in Sword & Shield, it has the technology to transfer any Pokemon in hand through your PC to change into another anytime, anywhere.), the power and feats that come with each of his Pokemon's moves and natural abilities (Their Pokedex Entries), the things he and his Mon's survived from both normal to god-like catastrophies, his strategic mind when he is in any battle scenario, and his own feats on his own (such as his aura and athletic body) in the anime and even Pokemon Masters EX since his actions there are basically canon there (Fun fact, he battled against the main character, Your character, and won in the end which is amazing. We will also get him against Red but not for some time, but it will be incredible).

I feel like ash would actually have better chances in this fight than people are giving him credit for.
First off, when considering the way these two approach a fight, Yugi is typically able to take far more time strategizing since yugioh follows a turn based system where there’s a lot of time to prepare and form a plan of attack without the worry of your opponents attacking you out of nowhere.
In comparison, Pokémon battles in the anime require more on the fly thinking and thus leave both sides with little time to develop a strategy, which Ash seems to be fully capable of taking advantage of considering his often head first approach.
So unless the battle drags on, Ash’s quicker thinking should be capable of pulling off a victory, though I’m sure there are other factors besides battle duration.
The God cards and yugi's assortment of monsters ,traps ,and spells would probably overwhelm ash
I feel like if this one were to happen, Ash gets creamed like he might deal with some of Yugi's monsters but when Yugi's summons his most powerful ones aka Dark Magician, Magician of Black Chaos, Black Luster Solider and even all three of the Egyptian God Monsters, Ash is out of his league if he is fighting against Obelisk the Tormentor, Slifer the Sky Dragon and The Winged Dragon of Ra.

Yugi's puzzle can start up shadow games and bring the monsters to life... in fact the first Time Duel Monsters ever appeared in the series Yugi did exactly that (a feat that wound up giving Kaiba the inspiration to make the hologram tech for the monsters, to be a direct answer to Yugi's magic).
Everyone is the comments really seem to really be sleeping on Ash. A few points on why he'd at the very least put up a strong fight.
Pokemon's anime isn't bound to the same rules as the card game/video game. Ash isn't limited to six Pokemon, he can have multiple out at once, and his Pokemon can dish out multiple moves at once.
Ash has a pretty hefty amount of Pokemon available to him, if he's able to use the ones he has at Professor Oak's lab. A quick google search brings up 76, which includes 30 Tauros' that he's holding on to (for some reason.) Not counting them, Ash has 46 Pokemon he'd be able to use.
Ash is far more experienced of a battler than Yugi is, just by time alone. While the timeline of the Pokemon series is a little rocky, he's traveled to multiple regions and stood his ground against legendary pokemon and some of the best trainers around. Ash is even (finally) a World Champion at the age of 10, which is insanely impressive for his age, even if it did take him multiple tries.
As for everyone bringing up the Egyptian God Cards, Yugi doesn't actually have them in his possession anymore. So, going by Death battle's own usual rules, Yugi wouldn't be able to use them. If he could, then the same logic would mean Ash would be able to use legendaries that he's been able to command in battle briefly.
I'm not familiar enough with either series to have a strong prediction either way, but it'd certainly be a closer fight than most in the comments seem to think.
Okay, so a few things. First of all, no the anime does follow the rules of only 6 Pokémon on you at a time, you can literally see this happen in the first season of the show when Ash catch’s his krabby, he already had six on him so it had to be sent to Oak’s lab. Secondly, why on earth would they not give yugi the god cards? Death Battle uses each character at their strongest which in Yugi’s case is at the end of the series with both Atem and the god cards still with him, and even if you don’t use that version we know from the Dark Side of Dimensions movie that people can still summon and use the god cards after the series finale without them even being in their decks at the start of fight(Thanks Kaiba for screwing the rules once again). Thirdly, no Ash wouldn’t have access to legendaries because unlike yugi with the god cards, Ash didn’t actually catch and control them the times they worked together were just that, times they worked together. That’s like saying because Yugi had control of Kaiba’s Blue Eyes White Dragons a couple of times he should be given them as well even though they went back to Kaiba after those events happened. At best He might get the ultra beasts he caught plus Melmetal. Though that’s not saying he’s completely screwed, Greninja alone was able to go toe-to-toe with a mega charizard that fought both primal Groudon and Kyogre at the same time. It’s just that Yugioh as a whole fights radically differently then Pokémon do, with having multiple traps, spells, and monster effects that instantly destroy opponents monsters without a fight. Heck Yugi literally has a spell card that makes every monster on the field be consumed by a black hole. Ironically Pokémon fights are a lot more grounded to yugioh fights all things considered.

I don't know the upper limits of Yugimoto's durability but Ash himself can shrug off thunderbolts and other massively damaging pokemon moves with little to no effort and probably has restrained pokemon physically stronger than him before.

Admittly this is a factor that I am confused by as well. Their... Duels or Battles or whatever are far too different to compare to one another! It is questionable to ask how they would fight exactly?

@@hiddenflare6169 Yugi should be capable of summoning monsters outside of a duel.... with the Puzzle.
Yugi uses the Millennial Puzzle and turns it into a Shadow game in which they fight to the death and Yugis Monsters/Card would be able to damage Ash. People may have been spoiled by the anime but Shadow Games aren't only life points based in Season 0 which is canon Yugi calls out Shadow Games in which you could set the rules to be whatever you want in Yugi's case he mostly preferred ones that required to outwit your opponent but other characters have showed death matches are possible hell just look at the final battle against Zorc Yugi summoned monsters to end him once and for all and there weren't life point mechanics involved
I'm more worried about rule 2 of Death Battle and it's effects here: the rule states that "To ensure a fair fight, all moral restraints from killing are ignored. All other traits are considered."
If moral restraints are removed.. we might be seeing the return of Season Zero Yami...

I think the most logical idea is to give Yugi and Ash everything they have, Easily done by having Ashes Pokedex Short Circuit mid fight to Make all his Pokemon come in.
With this being an Army Fight essentially, i think the Winner isnt as Clear as people initially thought. Especially since the two have so even stats now, especially with Having All their Cards and Pokemon.
It might honestly come down to Bond vs Strategy.
Power-wise, they're about even. However, Ash out-speeds Yugi to an insane degree. Yugi's durability on the other hand, may allow him to tank whatever Ash puts out despite speed advantage. Ash also has several hax-resistances, while also having some hax of his own which Yugi can't resist.
If Ash uses all of his most OP Pokemons in one go, I can see him standing a chance, otherwise, Yugi stomps Pikachu and all of his weaker Pokemons into dust

If he stomps Pikachu, then Ash's other Pokemon don't stand a chance. Despite his track record not being the best, I still strongly believe Pikachu is Ash's best Pokemon. Especially now that he has a solar system level Z-move
