I am legit crying watching this because I feel like you’re the only person that “gets it.” I’ve been doing this a year with EoE and I can only have liquids right now because I keep reacting. You’re so right about the mental symptoms. The fear of food is absolutely real. It’s so hard to want to try anything new when you never know if you’re going to react. I’m so glad I found your video and sooooooo sorry you’re going through this EoE junk too ❤️
Thanks for this video! I’m 26 and I just got diagnosed in January. So all this is new to me! My symptoms are abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. I’m on the elimination diet too! And I’ve noticed also when I stick to my diet I feel healthy, and I get too confident and eat something like dairy or bread. And the cycle starts again for me too 😪 it’s good to stick together through this, I get really sad too sometimes. Have you tried vegan cheese and other alternatives? Also the ENJOY LIFE brand has a lot of foods to pick from too, all allergy free if anyone is ever craving “normal” foods ♥️
Vegan cheese tastes like popcorn. And I'm warning you, it doesn't go good in tacos with soy-less salsa. But that's just me. But I wish you luck on your diet! (=
Ooh yes, always feel better on our diets hey haha. I tend to stay away from my allergens though, ouchie! I have tried vegan cheese, but I think it makes me sick! It's not a bad tasting product though!
@@cassyakfoodfitlife6558 My diet gave me Cyclic Vomitting Syndrome. The cause for the Sydrome is unknown, however, major change in the processes of the mitochondrial cells can trigger this. This a maybe. But I only vomit when I'm on the diet, never when I'm off.
Oh that is super interesting that going on a specialised diet would induce the cyclic vomiting like that. How do you manage that symptom then? What kind of diet do you maintain?
@@cassyakfoodfitlife6558 You might think me bad...but I don't do the diet anymore. The Vomitting is terrible. I have school. It got in the way of my school a ton. I missed a lot of learning and it just caused a massive pain in general. And the descriptions are correct, when I were to get an episode, it would feel like I'm dying because I would feel like someone would forcefully grab my stomach and just start squishing it violently and as hard as they could over and over again, nonstop. It was...horrfic to say the least. And on top of that, the burping is horrible. I was told by my doctor that about an hour or two before I get the episode, a little hatch separating my esophagus and my stomach would open and stay open, and would then let out this extremely foul smelling gas. So foul, that whenever I burped (because of course, the gas would come up) my entire body physically, without my control, shivered violently in disgust. I had to make a decision...vommiting or eoe..I chose eoe. But I do take the steroids or whatever to help reduce my foul breath caused by the white blood cells as well as my throat swelling. I want to say for me, the steroids work 6/10. But yeah...it was an extremely stressful decision...especially since I'm under the age of 20. I know this is weird, but @Cassyak Food Fit Life, if you want to email me or anything for additional or more personal info, I would be more than happy to respond. Just ask for my email privately, I guess. I'm terrible with electronics and I have no idea how you do that. But it is so amazing that I have a community that understands me and accepts me and doesn't think I'm weird that when I swallow anyone with in a 13 meter radius can hear me swallow. Thank you for everything! You have really brought some sort of light into my life. -Twenty Five
Thanks for sharing this! I was diagnosed recently after many years of symptoms. PPIs seem to relieve my symptoms entirely, which is great, although I'm not thrilled about having to take them for the rest of my life. My doctor recommended I just stay on PPIs since they are effective but I might try the elimination diet down the road someday...
With the last reason for mental, I would always simply pull up a chair, put in Battlefield 5 and headshot countless noobs until my sweaty try-hard K/D ratio is 5.0. No, I'm just kidding, although the game is definitely fun. Whenever I had my lows I would sort of day dream about foods. Until I wondered something (I'm allergic to wheat specifically, gluten, and wheat product)...and also keep in mind, this doesn't work for everyone, I would bake. I would find substitutes for everything milk (rice milk, soy milk, almond milk) eggs (I forgot what I substituted eggs with) and wheat flour (rice flour) and I would make cookies. I'm not sure if any one is allergic to sugar or anything, and if you are...im so sorry. It always made me happy to bake cookies that I could ACTUALLY eat for me and my family. It just always made me smile and kind of brought me out of the "low". But thank you for another video!
Thanks for sharing...I def understand what you mean with the mental part :/ diagnosed a few months ago and after allergy testing they said I wasn't allergic to any foods but I was to dust mites and grasses..not really sure what to do about that though
Exact same scenario for me. Started allergy shots and also Flonase, antihistamines. Throat still hurts regularly, esophagus still feels like it’s on fire. Zero relief... I have an endoscopy in 3 wks

Yeah, making a nice, safe treat can be good at times!
