I always kinda like going off trail. I've only ever had one live tick but once I had to brush loads of them off my waterproof.
Wow!! I never got any whenever I apply permethrin on my clothes. I got a live one once on a 2-hour hike near my house where it was a bit overgrown.
Think I would have stayed on the path through the stacked logs. You and Ben could have been injured trying to get back on the trail. Well done
There was workers there with heavy machinery cutting and moving logs on the path though. Both routes were dangerous I guess
