    I was very hesitant about this, but then I seen someone was selling one on marketplace and I took a chance and bought it for $75, glad I did it works awesome I put it in my car since Im too poor to have ac in car and I travel for work....but like I said no regrets...only thing the battery packs are expensive so I just hooked it up to my portable power station(cheaper ones) and lasted like almost 4 hours of course depends on how high you have it but it did the job

    • @carolynjbraden
      @carolynjbraden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yay! We bought a second one and used them when our dash air went out in our RV. That is a great price! You are correct...it works great for that purpose. I used the hose to direct the air directly at me when the vehicle got really warm. And, yep, we did the same with a power station as the batteries are expensive. So glad it worked out for you! Thanks for letting us know and thank you for watching!

    • @kishascape
      @kishascape 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The batteries are just rebranded dewalt packs. So if you can find a 12 volt dewalt tool battery you can use that on it. Though it’s better to use the power pack like you did instead of a tool battery.

    It’s simple heat exchange with ice being the coolant. The temperature of the water circulating into the radiator is the single most important variable affecting the output air temp. The temps you mention highly suggest that your getting very minimal heat exchange with the water in your cooler. Think of it like a big glass of water. Drop in a single large cube vs dropping in the same quantity of crushed ice. Which will cool the glass faster and which will take longer to melt? It’s an inverse relationship. Understanding that concept is important in choosing which type of ice to use for you particular needs. If you want ice cold (near freezing temp) air with relatively short lifespan then use cubed bag ice. The water going into the radiator will be near freezing and the air subsequently ice cold. If your needs are for only moderately cool air temp but you want it to last a long long time the. Use large blocks of ice. For even longer duration keep those blocks in the container (milk jug?) that you froze it in. FWIW I built my own “air condooler” about 10 years ago and used it in my airplane long before icy breeze was born.

      @@carolynjbraden Well, if you have 2 of them, I would think you would know whether it blows enough air to cool a car down. From what I'm gathering it is more of a pinpoint cooling system. It'll cool your face if you have the vent pointed in your face. It doesn't actually make the whole car cooler. correct? I am wondering if it will work for pets in a car while I go in to shop for groceries.

    • @carolynjbraden
      @carolynjbraden  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It could cool a small space, but we'd never leave it unattended (it's electronic and we are very cautious about this). It's really something you should test based on your needs. Our motor home that we first bought these for was 39 feet and two still weren't enough in Florida heat, but yes, the pinpoint cooling factor was helpful while driving. We have not tested it in a car as we have not had a need for this. Other commenters have said their A/C broke in their car and they used this while driving and it worked to cool the space down. We created another video to answer lots of questions we keep getting asked about this. Maybe it can help: th-cam.com/video/mwdREI3mFtg/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching! :)

      You are correct. Our RV was 39 feet and we had it in Florida and two of them got the front of the RV cooled off but when the temps got to over 90, nothing got it cool enough except the actual air conditioner. These coolers definitely helped when we needed it as our dash air broke, but of course weren’t a perfect sub for A/C. I hope this helps…thank you for watching! 🥰🥰

      On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the loudest, we’d rate it a 6. It’s not crazy loud, but isn’t super quiet either. It’d probably work well for a resort lobby as it did not bother us while driving in the RV recently and we had 2 going. We hope this is helpful. Thanks for watching!

      If you want to turn you van into a recreation of Dr Kavorkian’s death clinic than sure? Why not? Dry ice is expensive and impractical, you would have to build your own and make the ice chamber completely air tight and also run a second vent somewhere low, outdoors, and far enough away to where it won’t get back inside to vent evaporated CO2. Even then it could still leak later down the line, takes very little getting to you to cause a blackout.

We do like the product, but know it's not a replacement for a true A/C unit, just like electric cars....we suppose is what you meant? They are good but still not the best solution over gas powered cars. We understand that mentality for sure, if so.
